AMERON Köln Hotel Regent

The hotel is nice decorated. The rooms are comfortable and were very clean. The breakfast was very good, actually exceeded our expectations. We reached the hotel on Good Friday. The restaurants in town were closed so we visited the hotel restaurant and was very good. They even made a special dinner for our kid since he didn't like the adult options.

The room was very warm. We tried to lower the heating but nothing changed. One of the beds was not good. Also bare in mind that there is no separate bed for a kid and the covers are separate (we knew that already and we did not mind). The bathroom did not have a ventilation system. The parking had not enough spaces so we found a place every night with difficulty (although it is a paid parking and you get a card for your whole stay). Finally, we wanted some natural water and in the reception they had only sparkling, so we had to buy a bottle from the bar for a ridiculously expensive price. Natural water should be included in every room, otherwise what is the point of having the coffee and tea maker?

A really pleasant hotel with just what is needed for a great stay. The size of the room was more than enough and beds were very comfortable. Very good experience with the staff both at the arrival as well as at check-out, even in the middle of the night. The hotel is very close to Melaten - more than worthwhile visiting!

The air conditioning/temperature control unit was a little bit flimsy. It was very inefficient to adjust the temperature and needed to be used with opening the window simultaneously to have any effect. The room was rather warm.

Breakfast and dinner were really nice. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Everything was well organized and the interior of the room and downstairs is very inviting.

I missed a hot water maker (tea) in the room next to the coffee maker. Timing between arrival and bed time made it difficult to set the airco to the correct temperature for me (without blowing all night). I missed a filled mini bar and they did not have that much available for snacks at the reception desk. I missed some fruit salad next to the different sorts of oatmeal at breakfast but overall there were many choices for breakfast.

I booked an additional night direct by phone at the hotel. The first reservation I made with Booking com. I could stay the additional night in my room, no change was necessary. Perfect for me. I had a bath tube - that made my day! :-)

I didn´t get the information to change the room key after the first reservation. So I had to make my own experience and ask by myself for the new room key. My address wasn´t updated in the system, even I gave it in the registration form. So my invoice was addressed to the old, not value address.

We only stayed one night but found the hotel modern and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and offered us a free room upgrade, which was much appreciated. They helped us book a slot to use the sauna (required booking, 1 hr slots), which was spotlessly clean. Our room was on the 14th floor and had great views over Cologne. It is well connected, the tram is around the corner and takes around 10 mins to get to the center.

Not much to mention here. The water pressure was a little on the weak side, but it was still ok enough. There was a coffee machine in the room with varies options, but only enough coffee creamer (powder) for two cups.

Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms, welcoming and high end reception and most importantly, comfy beds! Room was huge, bigger than expected, and really clean and modern, with a generous sized bathroom. Would definitely recommend

Parking was an additional cost which I wasn’t aware of. However it was reasonable at €20 for 24 hours

The hotel has a nice and fresh typical German design. Breakfast was good with lots of different things. The you can have a parking spot including charging stations for electrical cars. Everything was clean and the food at the bar/restaurant was okay.

The parking is on the expensive side and the entire value based on the location of the hotel is quite expensive for what if offers. Also the service at the terrace was somewhat slow and I never understood why they don't pull out the curtains when raining. The wind was not a good excuse since it was barely blowing.

Lovely rooms with comfortable beds. Good breakfast and friendly staff on reception. There are a couple of tram stops nearby with easy and fast access to the center of town.

There was coffee in the room but no tea. The reception was kind enough to supply us with a kettle and some teabags though. :)

The room was big and comforting with lots of amenities such as a mini fridge. The AC was great as we stayed during summer months. It was great value for money. Staff at the front desk were lovely and helpful.

The hotel is located abit out of the Cologne centre (which we already knew). However, the tram round the corner takes you directly into town in 20 minutes.

Great rooms if you book a bigger one. Amazing (!) staff! they handle all your requests IMMEDIATELY and even read their booking.com messages immediately and respond. fitness center open which is very much appreciated, they coordinate use among guests. good wifi which is helpful for business use.

It'd be great if there were rooms to use for business ("work from home") where you can work, make calls etc. But understand that that is tricky
