Mercure Hotel Hamburg Mitte

The staff were excellent, very polite and helpful. The location, given the purpose of my visit is excellent. I believe this is my fourth or fifth stay in this hotel and I will certainly return. It is a very quiet hotel with good housekeeping.

The mattress was uncomfortable. Maybe it needs to be turned more often or needs to be changed. The pillows were too soft and in fact we asked for more (and were provided). But I would offer a choice. The wardrobe is for short stays with limited hangers. If you ask at reception, you will be provided with more hangers.

Straightforward hotel on main road by the Messehallen and Fernsehenturm. About 500 years from a metro station and on a bus route. Easy access to the city centre and most attractions. Clean room - modern facilities - including tea / coffee making in room. Staff were friendly and helpful - for example found me an envelope and stamp that I needed. Breakfast choice was good - a typical German selection of baked goods, sliced meat, cheese, jams, yoghurt, cereals etc. Something for all tastes. Automatic pancake machine was novel and a nice feature.

The staffs were very nice, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was high quality and was open for many hours, so it was flexible. The location was not far from restaurants, convenience stores, and train and bus stations.

Location was good for accessibility, but my room overlooked a busy intersection so had to keep the windows closed at night for quiet. Staff were friendly and answered any questions clearly with good local knowledge.

The air-conditioning in the room was barely effective. I turned it down to 16 degrees to try to cool the room, but it was still too hot for a comfortable sleep. For some reason, the panel showed both heat and cooling functions concurrently.

Elevator very slow when on demand. Breakfast staff is removing used plates and dishes from your table the same second you are having your last bite. They checked 3 times per minute and asked if they can remove this or that. It felt a bit like I had to go into a protection and defense mode to rescue my things. Generally this is is a good thing but in these 2 days I stayed it added a little stress factor to the Breakfast.

Room was perfect for one. Breakfast was consistently excellent. Location was perfect for the university and weekend tourism.

The room would not have been particularly comfortable with two guests. The only minor inconvenience was closing the shower door required squeezing oneself into the corner.

A bit of a walk from public transport but easy to do with luggage A tiny bit pricey but we stayed there during summer school holidays

Breakfast was exceptional. Lot of options, high quality food. Rooms were nice, spacious. Good access to metro, walking distance to town centre, very close to University. I appreciated their sustainability policy for cleaning.

The price was quite high, I would have expected more for this cost: no restaurant at the hotel (although mention on the website). No drinking water or bar in the room.

Room was nice, breakfast was superb (Love the pancakage making machine!) The people were great and helpful. The hotel is close to the metro and bus stops, definitely can reccommend. Good parking opportunities under the hotel.

Had a weird experience when we were checking out, where I was asked for my credit card and then the receptionist had written down all of my information into their system. Also, the elevators are suuper slow.

The bedroom was cosy and the bed had a very comfortable mattress. Breakfast had great variety of fresh products in a buffet service. The cleaning service was excellent and the staff was always helpful.
