Das Graseck - mountain hideaway & health care

the hotel is beyond praise.Everything is done here for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.Inside there is a small heated pool with hydro massage and panoramic views, as well as several types of saunas.On the 3rd floor there is a large swimming pool.The quality of service is at a high level.The hotel is located in an insanely beautiful place.I would like to thank all the staff and the owner.Everything in the hotel is thought out to the smallest detail.We will definitely come back here more than once.The information on the hotel's website is constantly updated, and you can get acquainted with the history of the hotel.

The whole experience was enjoyable, we didn't use the spar as it isn't really our thing but didn't feel we missed out, we made full use of the infinity pool and the food was lovely. The location was fabulous, we had a room with a panoramic veiw of the mountains from the balcony which we enjoyed sitting on after our evening meal, enjoying the tranquility with just the sound of the cow & goat bells in the surrounding area. If you like walking and mountain biking you would be in heaven, as it was possible to hire bikes, we just went on a couple of short walk as we had intended it to be a relaxing few days during our month of traveling Germany, Austria and Italy on our motorbikes.

The only thing that disappointed us was that during the evening meal we was asked if we would like water as well as the wine we had ordered, however we discovered at the end of the meal that 2 bottles of water cost over €12, we are not tight people but felt it was excessive, the next night we had 1 bottle😂. Same with the coffee, not too expensive, but as we had a coffee machine in our room we had coffee within the privacy of our balcony, which we both enjoyed much more. Given this we did however feel that it was still very good value for money.

Outstanding kitchen, bravo to the Chef and his kitchen and restaurant service team. Every dinner was full of surprises for the taste buds. Plenty but not too much - in short excellent. Location of the hotel was out-of-this-world, at true hideaway. Our room was perfect with the most wonderful view. It's worth to book the room with panorama view and balcony. Staff was great and helpful. Outstanding spa - not too big yet never too full - with excellent treatments. overall excellent value for money.

"Private" parking at the bottom of the mountain did not really work out. Had expected a closed parking with a barrier and maybe a code or so. If you have too much luggage, better to ask for pick up, but with the little gondola it works and is fun. It was not 100% clear to us what is and is-not included in the price, but this may have been us not re-reading the details. So, no big issues, overall outstanding and highly recommended.

The hotel's location is unique. It is up the mountain and arrival is by cable car. The views are amazing. A network of hiking trails runs past the hotel - bring your hiking boots! The facilities are fantastic. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The spa is just great - there are multiple saunas and pools. The outdoor swimming and relaxing pools are delicious. The fitness center is good. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The front desk helped with all manner of local directions and recommendations. Meals in the hotel restaurant are superb; every dinner was elegant, interesting and tasty. Breakfasts were wonderful. A variety of breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, eggs, cereals, fruit are available on a buffet. The kitchen would also gladly serve freshly made breakfast dishes.

We had to go home!

We had chosen to stay at Das Graseck as part of our honeymoon and it was perfect! The access via the cable car was great fun; the location was breathtakingly beautiful; there was a variety of spa facilities available all of which were very clean and well maintained; you can walk to Partnach Gorge from the hotel; the 4 course meal each night was absolutely wonderful! We couldn't fault the food in anyway. What made this stay even more wonderful was the staff; the staff and team at Das Graseck were lovely, especially since we spoke very little German so they were kind enough to speak in English where possible. Additionally we want to say thank you for upgrading our room as a honeymoon treat. The room we had was absolutely stunning, and we were very grateful. Lastly, I want to make a special mention to 'Robin' who was one of the restaurant staff and who served us for our first two nights; he was very polite and patient, very caring as to when we wanted our next meal and whether there was anything on the menu we didn't want. Robin really stood out to us on our stay in his excellent customer service, so thank you.

The only thing we could comment on as feedback was to have made us aware on arrival that the hotel offers free tickets to Partnach Gorge as part of the stay; we did not know this and bought tickets, then on the morning whilst leaving to visit the gorge, the desk attendant had offered us tickets from the hotel. It was not much money so did not really bother us, but it would have been nice to have been made aware on arrival as it wasn't easy paying for the tickets online.

Everything about this retreat was mind blowing.

Nothing, but just be aware that you can’t access this property by car, you have to take a cable car ;) soo worth it

Me and my wife booked for two nights and we wished we had booked for more! Truly exceptional place. The facilities are top notch, you can swim in the infinity pool with mountains covered in snow just in front of you, the 270° lounge was truly relaxing to have a chat or read a book. The spa was incredible with a sauna, a heated pool and floating chairs in a mountain lounge all overlooking the incredible views. Breakfast and dinner were both absolutely delicious, with versatile options. The rooms are spacious, very modern with alpine style. Around the place you can hike with nice hiking trails, we hiked to the eukbaur where there's a nice restaurant. Definitely would go back there, it's in our top 10 unique hotels around the world.

Not that it's an issue, but it would've been nice to get a heads-up, that the spa was nude friendly 🫣

During a previous trip to Garmisch, we hiked up to Das Grasek and ate lunch there. We enjoyed it so much that I told myself next time we were in Garmisch, we were staying there. Three years later, we did! And we will stay there next time also. We upgraded to the top floor suite through the hotel directly and it was amazing. The setting of the hotel is simply stunning. The food was delicious. The spa services were all great. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful and accommodating. The bed in our suite was the most comfortable of any place we stayed during our entire trip in Germany and Italy. I could go on and on. We loved it.

That we had to leave :-(

This is officially my favorite hotel ever. From beginning to end evening about my stay was perfect. Despite the fact I only staying one night, I felt like was treated like the most important guest. They were so helpful and accommodating, I arrived before checkin so they gave me a pass go to hike through the partnach gorge and after checking out, they stored my suitcase and gave me a locker in the spa so I could hike and then enjoy the spa the rest of the day! The resort itself is in an incredible location. You’re right on the trails for exploring and there are incredible views in every direction. The resort was so thoughtfully designed, you get to enjoy the views wherever you are. I would go back to Germany, JUST to visit Das Graseck again.

The breakfast buffet is fresh, plentiful and delicious. Everything from local cheeses and breads to eggs, meat, gravlax, freshly squeezed juice and other dishes can be ordered as well. Dinners were outstanding. Service was kind and attentive. Access to short lovely hikes.
