Hotel König Ludwig II

The location was great. It was very close to train station, and we had an event at the Garching Forschungszentrum. There are also many restaurants, supermarket and a bakery. The staff is very nice and kind.

The room was comfortable. The room was a bit hot because it was on the top floor, but there was a fan. It is also on the expensive side, but it was really nice too. Originally I made 2 bookings, and one of them was somehow canceled. But the staff was kind enough to revive it, but because of some problems in communication I booked another hotel, and could not stay there longer. I appreciate the kind response of the staff.

I arrived very early and the great staff were happy to let me into the room early which was really nice of them. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the hotel is very conveniently located in central Garching just a couple of minutes from the bus stop coming from the airport (about 35' travel total U-bahn and bus), and even closer to the U-bahn station to get to central Munich. The breakfast was fantastic with a huge selection to choose from and really excellent quality. I highly recommend !

Location - right off of the U6 line Facilities - hotel functions as a semi cafe, you can sit outside and enjoy a drink Service - useful laundry service, and they also provided a kettle and an alarm clock when I requested them Staff were nice, see above Cleanliness - very clean room and bathroom

No air conditioner - it was tough when the weather was 30+ degrees Celsius. They provided a table fan but it didn’t do much to combat the heat and humidity.

All the staff quickly respond with smile. The room size is sufficient. Quite near from U-barn station. Convenient to visit Forshungszentrum. I enjoyed breakfast with fresh and various ingredients.

Force of hot water from shower was poor. This may be a problem of the shower　equipment. You can find hotels with reasonable charges in downtown of Munich if you don't mind about travelling of about half an hour to Forshungszentrum and room size.

Hotel in the central street of Garching. Subway line U6 connecting Garching to the center of Munich is 2 min away, the ride takes ~20min. Science center with institutes is also very close, accessible by bike or a Bus (or even subway). One way ticket to Munich with the subway costs 5.10€ (in second half of 2021). The room was spacious, comfortable. There are food options around, restaurants, bakeries... A supermarket is also 3-4 minutes away. The stay happened during corona regulation times, so we just had to show the documents. People on the reception were kind. Someone who particularly enjoys German culture might find the decoration inside and outside of hotel very pleasing.

It was ok, really. There is only a thing with hotels in Germany in general. Comparing to the hotels of same quality in Italy, France, Spain, maybe even Austria, they are always more expensive. But the whole Munich is ridiculous when it comes to accommodation prices, unreal...

The staff were always friendly/supportive and the rooms on both occasions were perfectly suited to my needs. The breakfasts were amazing! The hotel is ideally suited near the centre of what is a very friendly, university town and with easy access to the U-Bahn.

I am afraid there is no air conditioning, and this would have been helpful during a very hot summer. Fans were provided though and these were both helpful and very good.

The hotel is just beside the U-Bahn (Garching), and Munich Marienplatz is just 30 min away. My room and bathroom were bigger than I expected. I liked having a sofa and a nice desk table in the room. Wifi was good. There are plenty of bakeries and restaurants around. It's a quiet area at night and the bed was super comfy.

My room had no air conditioning, but that's ok with me. It had a ventilation fan although I didn't need to use it.

good breakfast, firm but good beds. good ambient room lights. windows that can actually open. U-bahn entry and supermarket right around the corner.

Rooms are not too large On the 2nd floor you still hear people talking that are sitting outside in the pedestrian zone; this went on until about 01.00. heard it for the full two nights.

Central location close to the subway. Excellent for people travelling for work in the area. Hotel has a parking but there is plenty of public parking in the area (2 hours max from 8 am to 8 pm.... but if you are travelling for work it is ok).

Convenient location, right at the metro (U6) station, in a cosy square with few good restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff

No air conditioning in the room - especially for upper floor, this is fairly important during summer months. A bit pricey for a "no breakfast" stay - including the breakfast would make it fair
