Hotel Sonne

Hotel Sonne is close to the railway station which was perfect. We were initially put in a room that someone had obviously smoked in but they were happy to transfer us to an alternative room immediately.The Hotel provided a Fussen card which provided discounted or free entry to some of the museum's and on the buses, especially the ones going to the castles which was very handy. The restaurant Riwa is ideal for lunch/dinner but you are advised to book, as it gets very busy. Perfectly placed for walking around the pretty town.

No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, if you' haven't got breakfast included, this would have been nice to have first thing in the morning, however we found a lovely bakery/cafe at the station which is a lot cheaper if you don't want to pay for the full breakfast option at the hotel.

Hotel Sonne is a great place to stay in the heart of Füssen. Quite quirky interior which i really liked. You're right in the centre of town and can easily walk up to the Lech waterfall and surrounding mountains to explore. You are also only 5 mins in a car to Neuschwanstein. The hotel has its own garage which is clean and safe, but a bit tight when getting in and out. However we had a larger car than we are used to and driving on the other side of the road - all things which made it a big harder for us. Our room was lovely and the hotel had upgraded us as it was our wedding anniversary which was wonderful! The breakfast is fantastic, so much choice and the restaurnet is also great in the evening too with some different options to other restaurants in the town. I would heartily recommend Hotel Fussen - you won't be disappointed!

An absolute delight! I hesitate to even write this review out of a selfish desire to keep Hotel Sonne a "hidden gem". But it truly is a lovely place to stay. It's stylish, centrally-located, and an amazing value. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Our rooms were beautiful and quite comfortable, and spacious especially for Europe. And the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, with tons of options that were all equally good. There was parking available in the building, which was very convenient (but make sure you reserve it in advance, as the garage is small and spaces are limited). There's even a wonderful gift shop that's not owned by the hotel but is connected to the interior, with some beautiful souvenirs and items for sale at surprisingly reasonable prices.

Honestly can't think of anything. We loved everything about our stay.

Great location. Their breakfast was the best we had on our trip and a great value. Rooms were trendy and creatively decorated. Parking on site was a plus. Beverages were available for purchase in the lobby.

The parking was a bit cumbersome. There were lifts in the garage. Needed assistance to get the car each time. Was still grateful for having a parking spot. The bed was not comfortable, and parts of it kept falling off while we were sleeping. The mini fridge didn't work and wasn't fixed after we mentioned it. Room and bathroom were small and crowded with unnecessary furniture and fixtures. Other than those minor things, it was great.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights which was a brilliant location. Lovely Restaurant with exceptional food. Fabulous breakfast. On a whole except one issue in the restaurant 11.05.23. Staff were fabulous polite and helpful. Car parking good value.

On the 11.05.23 A table in the restaurant had been pre booked with reception (no problems) On arrival the pre booked table was in use and instead of an apology or explanation for the misunderstanding we were shown to a different table. When the waitress was asked about the prebooked table we were told the couple were taken longer than expected? When in fact they had just been given their main. Mistakes do happen and an apology and asking if we would like to be shown to a different table or come back a little later would of been appropriate rather than being deceitful.

The location was perfect right in the middle of town! The breakfast was amazing!! Largest hotel buffet I have ever seen and food was great! We had 2 rooms and they were close together. The staff were super helpful!

This is minor and would not keep me from staying here again... the shower was so small the door kept coming open (and I am a pretty small person) and I could not get the faucet to stay up (it kept sliding down)... so I had to try and hold it with one hand and shower with the other.

One of the best breakfast buffets ever on our 3 week Europe trip! Amazing place to stay. Good location near lots of shops

The parking was a little frustrating. They have a parking garage ( you need to reserve when booking) but it is very tight. Also the hotel is right off the main road and they told us to pull in, go inside and check in and they would open the parking garage for us but then we had a staff member say we couldn't park there and was making us move. Even after telling him we were checking in and reserved a spot. He was yelling at us to move, but we couldn't go anywhere. After a few minutes he came back out and said just go in the garage. Staff could have been a little nicer. Our waitress was very short with us.

A hotel that exceeded our expectations. Very warm welcome, easy check in, a large and comfortable room that was the right temperature in spite of the cold weather outside. Breakfast was excellent and we felt spoilt for choice. We also had dinner there and it was really good. Also impressed by the parking management with parking space reservations that meant you could be sure to find a spot; a nice touch: the parking walls enabled you to leave a small signature, drawing etc. and you were provided with markers. In the basement there is a washer dryer available for customers should one need it; a great idea when travelling with children

Access to the parking is one the tight side, depending on what car you drive and you could not call reception without reversing should the access card not work

Room - Very spacious with all necessities. We were given a free upgrade which was also unexpected. Large bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Breakfast - Exceptional in every sense. Too much to choose from. It will definitely meet everyone's expectations. Decorations - when modern meets quirky. Loved it. Location - perfect. Right in the heart of Fussen. 2 minute walk away from the train station. Staff - wonderful people! Summery - loved it. Will definitely book again when in the area.

Nothing to list. Maybe better sauna opening hours for early risers. I was told the sauna is a must see and experience but did not have time to visit. Literally clutching at straws to find something that could be better.

It's a very characteristic hotel and a pleasure to arrive by car, given the generous loading area. The parking was already reserved and marked with a print out of my name! The welcome given by the staff in English (as I don't speak German) was effervescent and it seems as though they had all the time in the world to answer my questions and give local recommendations. The room had a lovely view over the Old Town and the rooms were confortable with almost every convenience including slippers and robes. The lobby and communal areas were pleasant and the restaurant seemed quite vibrant, though I didn't dine in there. There are complementary apples offered at the reception desk. This is a really high quality offering.

The pillows are quite an odd shape, but it didn't prevent me from sleeping comfortably.
