W22 Hotel am Kurfürstendamm

Very handy to U-Bahn. Big room

Did not receive email with key instructions for late check in. Fortunately I was helped by a staff member unexpectedly passing and who stopped to make up for the deficiency.

Very pleasant and friendly staff. One minute from subway. Authentic elevator in the hotel. Good value for money

Hotel building is an old one, it brings pros and cons. One of the main cons is a bit spooky bathroom It resembles a bathroom from the movie The Shining by Stanley Kubrick :)

the room was very cozy and it has pretty much everything i needed. the ppl in the reception dont get into the guest business. the self checkout was excellent the view in the very quite neighborhood was very nice the room was fully covered with carpet and that kept it quite not cold there were many convenient places to charge my electronic devices there was a very good small refrigerator in the room there was a safe also in the cardboard there were beautiful paintings everywhere

that their was no washer in the hotel.. I know not every place has a washer but thee hotel would be perfect if it has it

I stayed here for 6 nights. The room is small but truly enough for 1 Person and clean, the facilities in the bad-room are vintage. The building is maybe already 100 years old? The old wood floor creaks when somebody steps on it, but it doesn’t bother me at all. The hotel is near to Kudamm, the luxury street. One highlight ist the old elevator, looks like one from Harry Porter. You need to open it’s doors by hand. The supermarket Rewe stays just 3 min away from the hotel’s door. You can reach the U-Bahn station in 4 minutes, and it takes about 20 Min to Mitte.

My wife and I look for reasonably priced accommodations when we travel. We do not required mint-on-the-pillow luxury or fawning staff. W22 proved to be the sort of modestly priced, no-frills hotel that meets our needs perfectly. The location in Berlin, near the Kostanzerstrasse U-Bahn station and just a few blocks south of Kurfürstendamm, was ideal.

There are always elements that can be improved—reading lamps at the bed, a second towel rack in the bathroom—but these are minor quibbles.

Hi..this is an old building with good quality bedrooms and decent enough bathrooms.. plenty hot water and in our room we had a shower over a bath which was great for a soak after a long day. Our room was on second floor .room 5.and we could let bathroom and bedroom window open all the time which was great for the warm nights..breakfast is from 8 to 10 . But I had actually thought when booking that breakfast was included..but its 7.50 extra It was also very quiet at night and there was communal /shared tea or coffee making facilities in each floor.. very welcome.. I would certainly hope to stay again when I visit Berlin next time.

Now that's a bit difficult..but I suppose the fact that I only realized during my last day on holiday with my 9 yr old son that we needed to pay an extra 60 euros for our 4 morning breakfasts. Was a surprise.. no issue paying but maybe this hotel and other similar accommodation should make visitors more aware.. both on bookings.com and also with clear signage.. And also for solo travellers there was a lack of a communal area to interact.. possibly the large dining area could easily be used at evening time to socialize.. but currently all that area which includes reception is locked after 1800..

Very nice old school hotel in a quite part of town that can be easily reached from anywhere. The room seemed to be recently renovated and had a nice atmosphere plus everything worked just as it should. And even though they only have staffed reception for few hours a day, you can easily arrange a late check in.

Reading some of the other comments here make me think that I was in a different hotel. Maybe different floors are in worse shape but rooms on the first floor are great. No notes.

Clean and comfortable hotel, staff was nice, I enjoyed the free tea and the proximity to a metro station. It is an old building, with high ceilings, which adds charm to the place. I arrived late so the staff kindly left instructions on how I can get my room key. The hotel exceeded my expectations as the reviews weren't great.

The walls are very thin, you can hear people talking or coughing in the next room.

There's a lot of stuff I liked about this hotel: - Facilities: Authentic, cozy, felt more like a home than a hotel. Compared to other hotels that just got that boring sterile hotel-look W22 blows them out of the water. Here you'll remember because it's unique. - Location: may be a bit outside of the city core, but with strong legs and easy access to the subway that hardly meant anything. Good and restaurants well worth your money in the area. - Comfort: You get everything that might not be a given at other hotels; coffee and tea in the hallway, with cups and cutlery, hair-dryer in the bathroom, and a fridge! - Room: Just like the rest of the facilities, the room is great. High ceiling, large windows, interesting art, and a wonderful bed with big pillows! Lived on the first floor, and had no problem whatsoever with wi-fi.

There wasn't any cleaning, which meant that you soon ran out of toilet paper, which wouldn't be a problem if the opening hours weren't so-and-so so you couldn't ask for more.

The room was large, with a very nice high ceiling and the location of the hotel is very close to the metro, which makes it easier to reach city center. They allow check-in at any time leaving they key in a key box outside and they are also very nice in storing your bags if you have a late flight and still want to explore the city. They have coffee and tea ar your disposal on the hallway.

Some parts of the room are old and require rennovations, such as the balcony, the shower glassdoor, the rug etc
