Holiday Inn Express Augsburg, an IHG Hotel

The hotel was easy to get to from the highway. There were several options for eating in the area, although options did become limited after 8 pm. The rooms were comfortable and big enough for our suitcases. It was nice to have on-site parking for our car, so we could park it and then leave it for the night. The shower was roomy and had great water pressure. The breakfast was tasty and was diverse enough to satisfy all the members of my family.

Getting into the parking lot upon arrive meant going into the lobby and talking to someone at the front desk. Not a huge problem, but there wasn't a convenient place to park while waiting for the parking lot gate to open.

We missed our connecting train because of delays coming out of Stuttgart. We ended up in Augsburg at almost midnight. The train station was closed and there was no one to help. We did not know Augsburg at all, and knew almost no German. We booked at room a the Holiday Inn through our phone at random. The booking process was very smooth and easy, and we simply showed the taxi driver the address of the hotel on the phone. It was midnight by the time we arrived. The hotel staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, and gave us information about booking a train for the next morning. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. We requested a taxi at 5:30 to take us back to the train station, and it was already waiting when we came downstairs several hours later. The staff insisted that we pack a breakfast to take with us. Coming from the US where hotel breakfast usually means nothing more than eggs, bacon, and cereal, the breakfast spread at the hotel was outstanding. We will always be thankful to the staff and the hotel (and to the two very courteous and professional taxi drivers).

The hotel lobby and bar area very modern. The room and bathroom also very clean. A spacious bathroom with an exceptionally large shower. Off street parking for €12 a day at the car park behind the hotel. Old town 10 minute walk. Good varied breakfast.

The room would have been ok if it was for 2 people however I was travelling with my son so they put up a sofa bed to accommodate him. Thus eliminating all floor space so there was nowhere for the suitcase and bags. Have to say the bed was comfortable but very narrow for a double bed. I kept waking up thinking that I would fall off the side. Would have been nice if we had a choice of a sheet or duvet as it was too hot for the duvet provided but too chilly to be without anything at all.

The hotel is centrally located. We arrived and checked in very quickly. The person at the desk was helpful. We also managed to find without any difficulty a parking slot at the hotel site. The room was on the upper floor, nice and neat, though a bit small. The breakfast was good though it would be nice to have some scrambled eggs. .

I think it would be good to add at least one hook more in the corridor for putting another coat. The same in the bathroom

The hotel issituated just outside the historic center of Augsburg. The rooms are comfortable, and quiet. Airco is working very well. Exactly what one would expect from a Holiday Inn-hotel. There is a parking behind the hotel, but if you arrive late, chances are high that it will be full - in this case, ample parking is available in the parking garage of the nearby shopping center (200 mt. walk) at a reasonable rate of € 13,- per night (2022)

The parking lot was full when we entered, but the entrance barrier still lets you in. After we entered, 2 other cars did the same and the parking lot was jammed - no one could move back or forth. The (free) breakfast is good but basic, a pity that there is no fresh fruit.

Decent-sized rooms that were very clean and comfortable. Large shower with good pressure. Nice continental-style breakfast. Parking was convenient (though I can understand why they have arrangements with a nearby shopping mall for overflow parking). Staff was friendly. Easy to get to from the Autobahn, and about a 15-min walk to the Christmas Markets and city center pedestrian zone.

I've become spoiled with US-chain hotels that usually have an in-room refrigerator. That said, there was an ice-maker in the lobby.

We did stay for a family gathering over Christmas. The room was very quite (to the back facing the parking area). Nice little room, nice shower, small bathroom, very friendly staff, nice location, very close to the "City Gallerie" shopping mall and within 10 min walk to city centre. Good car parking behind the hotel.

The breakfast was a bit mediocre, maybe due to the christmas time, maybe due to the "Express" standard, who knows

The breakfast was rich and varied. The rooms were well equiped and furnished, It was clean and cosy. Very close to a shopping center

The privat parking of the hotel was paid and not included in the room price. When we arrieved there were no free spaces available and we had to park in the nearby shopping cneter ( which was arranged by the hotel actually).

The soundproofing from outside was superb. I was a bit worried about being allocated a room at the front of the hotel, as it looked over a main road, but you could hear no traffic at all. The air conditioning fan kept going through the night, even when the a/c was switched off, but as it was so hot that didn't really worry me unduly.

Nice rooms, Hotel well situated, for tourists to visit this city a map / flyer would be very helpful

Reception Staff fairly new, needs time to get used to the system, very friendly but time consuming, a small fridge in the rooms would be helpfull, coffee bar in the room should be replenished during room service
