This is a well converted historic property of character,in a most beautiful setting at the heart of one of the loveliest villages of the Charente region. The room which I had was spacious and comfortable,with garden view. The garden itself is a delight,shared with a few friendly hens. Just a short walk out into charming open countryside,with excellent dog walking. Roxann,the new owner,lives on site,and was very helpful and friendly.

Nothing.

The room was beautifully decorated with a sunken jacuzzi bath. Very clean and comfortable round bed. Parking very convenient in the courtyard with gorgeous stone work. Great location for the mill (as seen on TV) and local restaurant.

Our only negative was that we arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and the entire village was closed. We had to drive out to Mansle to get a drink and food. Didn't realise Verteuil was closed Wednesday afternoon, would have been good to have been told this in advance.

Roxann (the new owner) has provided the perfect combination of comfort, ambience, attention to detail and elegance to make any length of stay wonderful. Her hosting skills are second to none; indeed we wondered how she maintains her boundless enthusiasm. Beautiful setting, perfect host, marvelous breakfast. What more could you ask?

The fact we couldn't stay for longer.

We were house hunting in the area and this felt like home from home during our rounds. The location and charm of the village worked perfectly for us. And the surprise of such a lovely place giving us the freedom to come and go as we pleased and in an independent way was much appreciated.

Nothing! We were completely happy being in this comfortable chambres d'hote. It is well organized, spotless and in a beautiful village with good restaurants and historic sites.

A lovely old building in this beautiful village. The host was charming and everything was very efficiently run. The room was attractive and conveniently situated next to the kitchen and the garden doors. We will definitely be going back.

Location great need to make sure when late arrival that the lights are switched on.As it was very dark

The shower head did not fit the holder so had to hand held .And the breakfast was very basic no friut cheese ham or choice of yoghurt also no milk provided.

we arrived in the dark and the accommodation was difficult to find, however now we know where it is we will certainly stay there again

Everything about this accommodation is first class. You will not find better. Ludovic keeps everything to a very high standard.

Ludovic informs us that he is moving on. Let's hope the new owners maintain his excellent standards.

Good location, very quiet, Roxann was a great host. Lovely garden and comfortable beds.

Would have liked kettle in the room.

This was a good place to stop on our journey home to Spain. Really nicely renovated room in a barn. Tasteful decor , big modern bathroom, and comfy bed.

The kitchen was shared, which wasn’t clear on the property details. Wouldn’t normally be a big issue, but due to Covid we didn’t feel comfortable sharing cooking facilities,cutlery , plates , fridge etc with another family. Especially as their ( very nice ) children were running around touching everything. Also no washing machine.
