We arrived early and there was no problem with leaving our bags in the room behind reception. The receptionist was very helpful re advice on parking which was at one of the two station car parks. We got an email after we'd reached our next destination to say I'd left a small bag in our room with my boots and a book. They said they would hang on to them. We drove all the way back from Bayeux to pick them up the following morning. The receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. Full marks.

The one way system outside the hotel and station is a nightmare and there is nowhere to park to drop off your luggage. We managed to find a 15 minute parking place in Rue Verte and dashed over the hotel to ask where we should park. You have to park in No 2 car park for the station, bring your ticket to the hotel, get it stamped and use when you leave the carpark paying 10 Euros rather than a bit more. When we got into the underground carpark there were no parking spaces. On the bottom floor there were only spaces for hire cars e.g. Avis. We had to phone the hotel and were advised that we were allowed to park in the hire car spaces. It would have been helpful to know this before we entered the car park.

I stayed for two nights at this family-run hotel located just across from the Gare de Rouen. The location was perfect as I traveled by train. My room was rather small but perfectly comfortable for one person. I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel's restaurant "Victor". I dined there two nights and was very pleased with the high quality of service and cuisine. In summary, I would gladly stay at Hotel de Dieppe 1880 if and when I return to Rouen.

The only negative note is the tiny elevator. It's no problem for me as I don't mind climbing stairs. But it could be an issue for guests with lots of luggage or mobility problems.

Breakfast very good indeed - a range of savoury and sweet "continental" options, plus (unexpected, but great!) scrambled eggs, bacon and continental sausages. Staff throughout (reception, restaurant, wherever) very helpful and absolutely charming; and all quite happy to let you use your French, but use fluent English where necessary. Excellent location - within 10-15 minutes easy walk (really) of all the major old city sites - Musee des Beaux Arts, Palais de Justice, cathedral (amazing!), Place du Vieux Marche, Joan of Arc stuff. Light show against the cathedral at 10pm (most lights in the summer, I think) truly stunning (and free).

Hard to find any fault, really. Booked twin beds for my son and me - which we found pushed together ... but easy enough) and enough) space to push apart. Trying to think of something more serious, but can't.

We had to park in a public parking 100 meters from the property Since this is a historical property, fitting a lift must have been complicated so the lift stops at mid level and you have to manage some steps-not appropriate for people with reduced mobility

We really appreciated the air-conditioned room, particularly as we were staying in the heatwave in early August. The staff were all very nice, and we were very happy that the receptionist gave us information about a light show on the evening we arrived, as it was brilliant. We spent 2 days here and the hotel is in easy walking distance of the old quarter of the city. The hotel is opposite the train station but we didn't hear any trains, and the road in front of the hotel is for buses and taxis only, so it was actually very quiet. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. My request for gluten free bread for breakfast was noted and supplied without delay, and there was plenty of choice. We parked in an underground car park just up the road, and the hotel happily had a discount arrangement with them, which we benefited from.

We liked everything.

The location was perfect for exploring the old city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel is in a central location, it was very quiet at night. We were upgraded to a larger room, and it was very spacious. The car park was close to the hotel. Breakfast was great.

The elevator was a bit small, but we prefer to use steps so it was not a problem.

The breakfast was very nice with a lot of variation. The staff was very helpfull, professional and friendly. Overall the room was comfortable, clean with a modern good functioning bathroom.

The room was clean and nice. The only thing that was missing was some room to put the clothes, so we had the leave everything in the suitcase. Further, there was some seat in corner of the small room, but it was under some low hanging lamp. Difficult not to bump my head against it. The elevator was so small that it was a challenge to get in it with two persons.

The location is excellent and if you arrive by train, is just across the road. The staff are friendly and they gone beyond their duty to assist us in translation when we try to communicate with non-english speaking people.

The room that we booked were quite small and with 2 large luggage, movement within the room is very limited.

The staff is fantastic, our second room (first room airco was not working) was fabulous, good wifi, location is good (but not fantastic, strange people around the train station in front, 10mins walk to the old town and most restaurants).

food in the restaurant was really, really bad, worst we had in years for a fairly high price. Absolutely not recommendable. Shame, as the staff is nice. Location is not great in the night

The hotel looked like it has been recently renovated, that's a nice plus. The room was quite small but nothing out of the ordinary in France. They compensated with a spacious bathroom. Hotel's parking was actually the train station's parking and price is 10 euro/day - very reasonable. Located right across the street from train station.
