Hotel ibis Rennes Centre Gare Sud

I like that when you stay in Ibis you know what to expect. The hotel was very clean, the room was big, the shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. The staff speak English and are friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right next to the train and bus station which makes it a good base for travelling to other places in Brittany. The room faced the women's prison which in fact is a beautiful historical building in a green yard. There are shops and restaurants nearby, and the area looks safe.

Everything was fine and according to Ibis standards. I would like to have a fridge in the room, but as they do not provide a fridge in any Ibis hotels, it was understandable they did not have it here.

Room was comfortable. Decent sized Shower. Quiet. Breakfast buffet was very good, great coffee and boiled eggs. Location was perfect with bus stop outside the door as was the TGV and metro. if long stay recommend a card that gives you unlimited bus and metro travel.

Despite being on a non smoking floor the corridors wreaked of smoke. We were in a room with another room annexed but that room did not have a real bed it was a click-clack, something you don't see in the photos.

Very comfortable and great location, able to walk or metro anywhere.

Slightly annoyed I received an email explaining the car park was free at gare sud and it wasn't. I would have parked for free and travelled to the hotel by metro. The website also said checkout at 2pm and it was 12noon. All fine but incorrect info on web and confirmation emails.

fab location for train travellers as it is next door to the station. rooms are clean and quiet. hire cars fir collection and drop off at/nearby the train station. tgv trains run regularly to Rennes so we found it a good starting point fir a trip through Brittany and Normandy.

For this price point it had everything I expected.

It had the perfect location: linked to the Gare Sud in Rennes. Fantastic if you just stay for a couple of days, as you get connections to Paris or Mont Saint Michel or everything you need. Also, walking distance to the center of Rennes. The room is large, the breakfast has a very good selections of food and beverages.

The windows does not open fully and it is hard to have fresh air in the room.

Staff is very polite and accommodating, and take effort to manage your needs even in inconvenient situations. They could keep my luggage in a very systematic, docketed order(normally quite random with other hotels) when I wasn't checked in, so I was carefree. Breakfast was good with variety. Hotel was quiet despite being right next to the railway station.

It was a nice hotel. It had everything needed. There was a table to work at in the room and a good bed. I think it is a really good hotel for a fair price. I like that there is someone at the desk 24/7.

The floor in the room had a lot of dust on it. It would have been nice if it was clear, but the rest of the room was clean

Right next to the station. (Very early train to St Malo for the ferry - a better option than staying in St Malo). They locked up and charged my e-bike very efficiently.

It is like every other Ibis. A bit soulless but you know what you are getting when you book.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived at about 10 a.m., but she was able to give us our rooms straight away. This hotel is really well situated, virtually in the railway station. The rooms were pleasant, the bed comfortable, nice bathroom

Breakfast very good but at the time I went the first day, lots of items missing in regard to a bus full of teenagers heehee

something were missing in the room, at least a box of tissues would have been appreciated
