The Originals City, Hôtel de la Balance, Montbéliard

The room was much larger than we expected and very comfortable. The interior of the hotel was beautiful and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast room was stunning and had a good variety of food. If you felt like relaxing with a drink there is a comfortable lounge area on the main floor where you can sit and relax. The location was great for walking to shops and restaurants.

We visited to see the Christmas market (the best food we've ever had at a Euro market!) and watch the final match of the World Cup. The hotel is in a very convenient location, easy walk to nearby attractions, restaurants, etc. Private parking lot behind the hotel was also very helpful. Break fast in the morning was well stocked and in a very beautiful, large room. The staff is very kind & helpful.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The building is very old but our room was clean, bright and thoroughly charming with updated amenities and, to our surprise, the bathroom was very modern. Our room overlooked the street but was quiet and restful. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the old fortress and the old part of the city. A delicious breakfast was served in the gorgeous salon. Excellent location from which to explore Montbeliard.

Great location with car park . Tight to enter with a mid sized 4x4. Very helpful staff. We visited the Christmas Market - recommend this as there’s a great food market there as well as lots of stalls all over the town. We didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment regards food

You couldn’t reserve a parking space . Most restaurants were closed Sunday night in the town .

Location was good on a quiet street at edge of old town. Room was fine and bed was comfortable, but seems they pulled out fridges(there was a space),so missed that. Bike parking was good.

Room layout was a bit odd but spacious enough, only big downside was the hotel “streetlight” right outside our window which sent light through tall gaps around curtains and lit up room (we used towels and clothes to block light ok). This is probably only issue for first floor rooms near light ; 105 and 106, so request other rooms to avoid.

Great historic and authentic hotel perfectly located in the city center, allowing easy access to all destinations while also offering parking. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the rooms always clean. Breakfast was delicious and offered good choices. We were intending to stay 1 night only, but our car broke down and had to be repaired so we extended our stay which was perfectly fine and we enjoyed our time there. The manager kindly helped us out while our car was broken. All in all, great hotel with fantastic staff that we highly recommend to anyone.

Good location on an overnight stay, very helpful and friendly staff. Sheets were very soft and rooms were spotless. Parking either in the building for €7 about 8 spaces or outside on the street free overnight.

Delightful decor in a lovely location next to the Chateau. Excellent facilities for storage of our bikes. They accommodated our early arrival.

Our room was near wooden stairs so noisy at night until everyone settled in.

Beautiful hotel. Breakfast is served in a stunning historic wooden hall.

The shower was equipped in a way that made it hard not to flood the hole room while showering

Very friendly and helpful employees, nice spacious room with cool artwork. Easy and inexpensive parking on the premises. Comfortable bed!

Bathroom was very small and a bit outdated. Some of the pictures showed way more modern bathrooms. A fridge would have been nice to have.
