Appart'hôtel Saint Jean

The location of the hotel was very near to the Grotto and we were able to frequently visit the church and Gotto grounds during the day.The double bed was a bonus and the heating was excellent.the hot water was available throughout they.the staff especially Sally was very friendly and was very accommodative of out requests.Breakfast was excellent and we were able to serve many times.

We would have preferred the house keeper to clean our room but I am sure they would have done if we requested it.also would've preferred an additional pillow which again if we asked they would have provided it.

The breakfast was good with ample choice, we only missed the fresh fruits and wholemeal cereal. The staff was friendly. The decor of the rooms was cosy.

The beds were too soft. So we took away the mattresses and kept yoga mats on the support tructure, in another flat the support structures were unsuitable even for the yoga mats, so I slept on the floor on one of the mattresses. The shower is a bathtub with a glass door, which cannot be used by very elderly people as they cannot jump the wall of a bathtub. Some appartments face the road, which can be very noisy.

The location is great - 5 mins walking distance to the Sanctuary and plenty of cafes and restaurants next to the apartment. The apartment was spacious, with a kitchenette (microwave, fridge & stove) which offers adequate facility for cooking. Buffet breakfast (for an extra charge) was adequate. The staff were helpful. It has a lift which is helpful.

It was located 20 mins walk from Lourdes train station. I found out later, that there is a bus service from the station to the apartment (at a cost). Make sure you ask for this bus if you don't want to walk or take a taxi).

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lourdes, on the river bank, close to the sanctuary, museums, shops and restaurants. Great views from the balcony of our room, which was cleaned daily, unlike in other such hotels. A very nice staff helps all guests with everything they asked.

I guess that all things that were not perfect, which other guests mentioned, actually helped maintaining a very low rate for this hotel, which is indeed offering small, but very clean rooms, in a really excellent location.

The Saint Jean was great for my stay as a volunteer. Ideal location- close to the domaine and mini market. Staff were just brilliant - so friendly. Rooms were not fancy but had everything that I needed for basic self catering… lots of towels etc, all at a great price. I will be back.

Not much! Perhaps a little bit of freshening up/ minor repairs in places (eg bin under the sink was broken off it’s fixings but was still usable/ fridge leaked a little but not excessively so). However my stay was not affected by these minor issues.

Be nice to have had a few English speaking channels on the tv. But it wasnt a big problem

It was very central and affordable. The accommodation comes with a private bathroom and well-equipped kitchenette and they provided us with toilet paper, linen and two towels each (even though we were there for four nights).

The room was quite dirty, especially the floor and there were certain very noticeable damages, such as a hole in the side of the bathtub, a faulty burner in the kitchen and even a large dent in the floor. There aren't enough sockets so, we had to economise on charging our devices.

Good location close to the Sanctuary and town. Many restaurants and shops nearby as well as St. Bernadette sites. Nice breakfast. Staff super friendly and very accommodating.Overall very good value.

Very very loud - especially the street side rooms. We were there for the Military Pilgrimage weekend and bars next door and across the street blasted music all night long. However the staff graciously changed our room the second night which helped tremendously. I'm sure other nights and weekends throughout the year are not this raucous. There is no parking but paid parking close and free parking a longer walk away.

The proprietors made everything as stress free as possible especially with arrival and departures. This is a family run business and everyone worked well together. When we left, the very kind receptionist, after closing the desk at 8pm, stayed with us outside till the taxi arrived. He could have gone home but he stayed with us as a reassurance, having had to chase them up nearer the time. That was a very kind and very professional thing to do and we really appreciate him for that. In the early morning we enjoyed hearing the town come to life and seeing all the early morning activities from our charming French windows with small balcony.

The coffee machines used by many hotels in the breakfast rooms are the same make and for me the liquids are never hot enough. An electric kettle in the breakfast room ( for me) is a perfect solution.

Location is perfect, the view from the room is exceptional, room is adequate, equipped with kitchen, fridge, bathroom, cupboards, etc. Breakfast is fine. Room and the bathroom was clean.

Specifically requested double bed as we are a couple. They joined two single beds which are moving apart. Informed reception on the following day where agreed to change but did not. Shower cubicle handle broken and balcony is not that clean. Since we stayed only for two nights,
