A grand old building with character; big room, big windows that opened( not a certainty in modern hotels anymore), a nice garden with a few friendly and endearing chickens and an old cat. Good firm matras for a very refreshing nights sleep. We ended up adding another night to our stay to explore Honfleur some more. The 7 min walk away from the very busy Honfleur port and centre was also appreciated! The owner was very responsive and helpful and gave us a good breakfast.

Nothing really!

We loved the beautiful “maison de maitre”, the gardens and the chickens Dior and Chanel. This place has everything you expect from a French b&b. The rooms are spacious and offers an authentic experience. Morgan is a great host and he is the heart of the place. Don’t let the view from the streets put you off - go inside and experience this beautiful, charming place! We’ll definitely come back! All the best, Ida and Carl Fredrik

Space and privacy, our large ensuite bedroom was on the 1st floor and offered a great view across the Le Pont du Normandie Bridge. We had a large table in the room for eating a lovely classic French breakfast of bread, croissants and jams etc. But Since the weather was nice we ate outside in the lovely large garden. Our very discreet host Morgan, couldn't have been more helpful. Honfleur's historic centre by the harbour was just a stroll down the hill. Lots of nice shots and restaurants to choose from. We ate at L'Envie a very good classic French bistro, good seafood and great value too

Only on street parking was available but there was plenty and although chargeable, 10euros covered the whole night and more.

Interesting and quirky property, we really liked it, a comfortable old world feeling, great rooms with amazing decor, comfortable beds, clean rooms and terrific host.

The shabby look from the road side almost put me off from staying at all, I thought it was closed and that i had the wrong location, once through a gate at the side road though a magical view then opens up. Apart from that all positive!

The location was perfect, nice and quiet street but still only a short walk from the city center. The hotel exudes charm and is decorated with beautiful antiques. Our host was incredibly welcoming and kind, going out of his way to deal with special requests. Breakfast was good, served in the sunny garden in the charming company of the chickens and cat.

It takes a moment to take in its quirkiness and the host but room was very large and clean and Morgan the host is very helpful and accommodated an early breakfast for us Breakfast was lovely

Would have been nice to have had an earlier check in and some shower gel in bathroom

If you have watched the Russell Crowe film ‘The Good Year’ then this is the feel of the property. Unique and spacious and charming.

Our room had a big bath rather than a shower which took a bit of adjusting to, but it really added to the experience of staying in such a fascinating place.

Our host was so welcoming and accommodating, it really made our stay special.

We were initially slightly put off by the exterior facade of the building, but once we had found the entrance (which was a little confusing at first) the interior of the garden and room was fantastic. Also, it was slightly annoying to have to pay for parking, but it was always easy to find a space.

Lovely old house with a very warm welcome. Our host was so helpful when we were seriously late arriving due to a much-delayed channel crossing from the UK. Wonderful old house and garden (with wisteria, trees, rabbits, and a cat!). Inside, a winding staircase took us to our huge room, lovely bed and furniture, with a large en suite bathroom. Good French breakfast. Great views from the house across the Normandy countryside. Easily walkable to Honfleur town centre, cafes, restaurants, shops, art galleries, parks and harbour. Parking close-by means paying. Free of cheap parking less than 10 minutes (walk) away. Easy access to main roads and along the coast to nearby towns. Happy to recommend Autour de la Rose for a restful, interesting and convenient stay
