Kyriad Chateauroux

Excellent restaurant, helpful staff. The room we stayed in was clean and in good condition. Even though the hotel is close to a main road there was no noise during the night. There is a large supermarket next to the hotel which is handy if you need anything for your trip. We travel a lot in France and have noticed that over the past 10 years the standard of Kyriad and Campanile hotels has gone down, this is not the case here. Someone has decided this hotel will remain a good example. Well done to all the staff. We will stay here again if in the area. 5*

Staff friendly and helpful. Travelling with a German shepherd which I advised but our room was really small! Only stayed for 1 night so we managed. Room was lovely and clean. Was pleased to see a kettle in our room.

Although we had a kettle there was no milk left and had to ask for some. Also had to request a toilet roll as there wasn't any. It wasn't a problem though, both were supplied.

We have stayed for at least the last ten years. It's our favourite stop over on the way south. Recently they have revamped the reception and dining area. It is now nice and modern. The staff were as helpful and friendly as ever. The breakfast is very good, although the cereals have vanished. It is fairly close to the A20. There are also a couple of service stations at reasonable prices. The rooms vary greatly in size and you get what you get. They are also quite happy to take dogs.

The room was cold as it was in the back where the sun never shines. They have installed a new aircon unit, which was ok, but it was fixed on 21c, which wasn't warm enough. They have obviously cut back. There was no milk for tea, I did ask, and no water. They used to supply a TV book and slippers. All victims of covid I guess.

Unfortunately we never reached this hotel since we had a car accident on the way...by luck we found another Kyriad hotel much further up North in France and they had rooms available. They informed the hotel in Chateauroux and they very kindly did not charge us cancellation fee for that night. We were impressed and very grateful. Next time we shall stay with them and thank thgem again.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, had all we needed. Rooms are a bit small but for us it was an in between stay before final destination, so that was fine. We were worried as when we booked on line it said large double bed, but all was good, we slept well and after long drives you need a good night sleep, which we got.

I chose this Kyriad to be closer to our drive back towards Paris and although it seemed as if it were out in the country, it was actually convenient on/off the highway. The rooms are small, but we knew that and had no complaints for the price. The free parking in front was convenient and the location is also near one of the highways as I mentioned. We stopped in Oradour sur Glane Memorial (the town that the Nazis burned), so we were a bit late arriving at the hotel. As a result we had dinner there and it was really good with a few choices (due to Covid). The A/C worked well. We did not have the breakfast. Would stay there again.

Excellent value for money. Comfortable bed and pillows. Complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits in room. Nice toiletries & towels. Good wifi and no need to register an email address to access it. Excellent breakfast. Dog friendly. Directly opposite is a big Intermarche supermarket and petrol.

Not as close to the motorway as I hoped.

Spacious rooms, well maintained. Everything you needed was in the room. Good location, nice and quite overnight.

Better English instructions on how to enter the building once the reception area was closed for the night. Limited eating options in the area if you arrive late in the evening.

Cleaning staff were really friendly and kind and brought us out to the car park something that we had forgotten, which I really really appreciate it. The staff in general are friendly polite and nice. Very clean.

It met our requirements.

There was a lot of black mould in the shower cubical. The flush button on the toilet was not user friendly. The push down stopper in the basin would not stay down to retain water.
