Chateau du Clos de la Ribaudiere

Location in a small village, beautiful historic building. Reception and dining room very well presented. There are two buildings to stay in, we chose the original chateau and the room was on the second floor very nice a few low beams but not an issue. Pool and grounds are well kept, swam outside as it was 32 degrees, there is also an indoor pool. We chose to eat in the restaurant the set menu which was perfect. 4 courses from the menu plus 2 complimentary everyone presented with such detail. Very wide choice of wines and staff very knowledgeable. Had a great nights sleep. Breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold items. Staff extremely pleasant.

There was nothing.

We took the “family room” with 2 rooms separated by bathroom and 3 beds and it was perfect for us. We liked the (very clean) swimming pool and the atmosphere of the buildings (2) even if we were not in the main one. It was quiet and nice for 3 days … In general the staff was professional. The outdoor restaurant is nice and we had a pleasant stay. We stayed a third night .. and we took an extra room for a guest/visitor - with a quite surprising bedroom (so small but less expensive) on the top floor of the main building (still very nice.. with small windows and since it’s an old building we had to take the stairs and avoid obstacles -wooden beam- to access!) Overall, a very good place.

It seems that the French “Art de la table” (restaurant) can be perfect, but sometimes staff can be very moody: our first lunch was a disappointment because the “maître d’hôtel” did not seem happy to see us asking to get a lunch at approx. 13:30 … but then, a day after the very same person became a charming and very obliging person when we did “a proper reservation”, in advance, and we showed up on time for diner!… obviously a very pleasant man during the “normal” working hours. Another point: there was no room service.

The evening dining set in the stunning gardens patio was sublime. The food seemed on a par with Michelin but was sensibly priced.

Our barman and drinks waiter on arrival did not have the makings of a Bloody Mary but still delivered it to the table, just minus the key Lea and Perrins. It was not very nice and we felt awkward returning it. There was no Pimms (never heard of it) and given the nature of the hotel we were surprised. This did not spoil our stay, which was wonderful.

The restaurant meal was a real highlight. Excellent meal. The building, the grounds, lovely swimming pool. Left some items behind and we received a phone call the next day and they posted them to our home. Very good service.

Bedding not very good quality. Bit untidily in reception of the pavilion building and corridors when we arrived.

This place was outstanding 😀 The room had a real confotable bed (all other bed in France have been to hard for my back but this was so soft and nice). The AC maked the room just as cool as we wanted (it was 30°C outside). The outside pool was greate but a little too small section with deap water. The restaurant on the Hotel was super good. The small old town was cozy to walk around in. The Hotel was beautiful and the stuff was really great.

Nothing to complain about

very good service and very nice staff. Rooms are clean and everyone is very dog friendly. We had a small dog (8kg). The Location is beautiful with a beautiful park. And you can charge your car for free and the property is video controlled. the restaurant is very exclusive and staff there is also very friendly.

if we have to say something, it is expensive… but you get best quality for your Money

The room was big, we had 2x a suite I think located in the main building. we were supposed to stay for only 1 night, but ended up 2 nights because we liked it a lot. It is nice and peaceful. We were so happy to start the holiday, we were exhausted and this spot couldn't do better to get in the holiday vibe. The pool area is not too big, with enough beds and shade. The inside pool need to be booked in advance, it cost you extra, but includes a sauna. The food was amazing. but for 1 night, I recommend to eat outside the chateau on the second day.

The restaurant has only 1 menu with 2 options for starter, main and dessert. So if you do lunch and diner, you have tasted it all. The second day we had to choose from the same menu again. Better to expand the menu and alternate daily. The gym area has a problem that it is way too hot to train. The sauna entry is in the same area. no AC can catch up with this heat.

Good atmosphere, room was nice, dinner was delicious

It’s not so much what we didn’t like. Everything was nice, but overall price didn’t meet expectations. Breakfast was basic, parts of the hotel looked tired, chairs around the pool were uncomfortable. Nothing major, but didn’t meet value for money

Great hotel. Safe parking. Lovely warm outdoor pool. Lovely outdoor terrace for dining. Amazing food, beautifully presented by friendly efficient staff. Will definitely stay again if passing through the area.

We have stayed here before so we knew what to expect. If we hadn’t enjoyed our previous visit, we certainly wouldn’t have returned. It suits us. Lovely grounds, spacious reception and dining areas, excellent decor and great food.

Being asked what we wanted for dessert before dinner. It is one course that we regularly omit. It appeared that the hotel policy was to increase revenue.
