Residhome Chartres

Desk clerk was helpful in giving directions to train station when no taxi would come for us. Room was very clean and quiet.

no night stands, towels for only one person, no remote control in the room, bedside lamps insufficient, no one at the desk most of the time. House phone did not work. Soap dispensers difficult to operate. Not enough bathroom counter space though bathroom was huge. Skipped breakfast- don't know if they had one. Hotel too far from the cathedral and center of town and NO TAXIS available that day. Distances were too far for elderly people. Only 2 frozen meals available: basmati rice. Would not stay there again.

Well equipped apartment room in a convenient location to explore Chartres with it's impressive cathedral and beautiful town centre. Apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable with a small kitchenette with fridge, cooker and baby dishwasher - and a cleaning kit provided. Our receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to have booked car parking at small extra cost otherwise we would have struggled to park the car nearby.

Coming by car - arrival instructions would have been helpful as we struggled to find the car parking and entrance. Our room wasn't ready at arrival (after 4pm) - the receptionist was very apologetic and gave us a complementary coffee while we waited.

Faith on reception was a great help to us. Room was very nice and with a terrace balcony. Breakfast was very good, apart from rather disappointing croissants. Location was good for visiting the old town and there were good okaces to eat within 10 minutes walk. The whole setup was very modern and very clean.

I struggled with the room temperature controller, probably because of my lacklustre French. The hotel lacks a bar of any sort. Oh yes, the croissants weren't great. Trifling things, but maybe some instructions in English for the controller and fresher croissants would make the experience even better.

We were surprised to find a place with such a great value. A nice new building with all the functions we would need plus a balcony, kitchen, a big room. We loved the complimentary items and the great views. The room and building's other facilities were with beautiful and modern interior design and everything was clean. Everything felt well-thought, starting from the curved curtains to block the light to providing different kinds of pillows.

The breakfast could be open longer. The bike rack did not feel safe enough since it is visible from outside and very low.

Having a little kitchen corner was nice as we could eat in sometimes. Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Secure parking, easily accessible as we arrived. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful lady on reception, who spoke excellent English, for which we were very grateful.

There was very little that we didn’t like, other than perhaps not much fruit to eat at the first breakfast, but more the next morning, so that was good. Also maybe an extra towel for people staying more than one night ie two towels each.

Great location for visiting Chartres, it was clean and comfortable had air conditioning and welcomed dogs. There was a good breakfast buffet available if you wanted it or kitchenette facilities in your room, including a dishwasher. The staff were friendly and helpful, wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We didn’t realise we had to book a car parking space and there was none available when we arrived, however the staff directed us to a pay and display car park about 50 meters from the hotel.

Very attractive modern studio, with no noise issues from neighbours. We booked parking (payable) at the property. There are not many spaces, so well worth doing so, although the spaces are not huge. Very helpful member of staff on reception, and some food and drink supplies available at reception. A 15 minute walk to the cathedral.

We spent ages trying to get the aircon to work, and eventually phoned reception. It was switched on from there(!), and we could then operate it from the panel in the room.

The hotel seemed brand new, the studio was nice. Everything was fine. The breakfast is based on organic food, very good quality.

The reception tried to charge my card at 7:30 PM at the day of our arrival, for security reasons my bank turned it down. I told the receptionist - who called me - that I was on the way to the hotel driving on the highway and would arrive soon. I had to stop at a highway rest area to provide another card, else the hotel would have cancelled my booking. I understand this is a system/process requirement on their side, but it was quite unpleasant - I would have appreciated some flexibility

The location was very good, a few minutes walk from the centre of Chartres, with all it's amazing buildings. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were nice, and clean. The underground car park was small, but good to keep our bicycles safe overnight.

Breakfast was a buffet, but when something was finished, it was difficult to get more, so you need to be early to have the best choice. The breakfast was probably not very good value for the price.

The accommodation was clean and spacious with good facilities. Excellent location and very good breakfast. An ideal place to stay for several days, especially with the terrace for a small additional cost.

Our visit was spoiled on arrival at the reception desk; the clerk had trouble finding our reservation and despite being able to speak excellent English talked rapidly in French which was difficult to understand (we can get by in french after over 30 years). We were told off for parking in the car park as we had not reserved a space; we were also charged considerably more than expected with no clear explanation. Upsetting for us both, unfortunately. The information on the website could have been clearer, and easier to navigate, there was no info pack in the room.
