Hotel Balanea

We loved the location, right in the center of the old town and close to beaches and historic sights. The staff were very helpful, especially Maria, who was there when we checked in, and helped us every way she could. The view from our room was great, and there were lots of restaurant options nearby.

Maintenance at this hotel seemed to be poor. One of the outlets by the bed didn't work, causing our computer not to get charged when it should have. Also, a light fixture over the sink was not working. (You'd think they would have noticed on their own!) The safe had an unusual design, and there were no instructions. The breakfast seemed minimal, and was not worth the cost (but there was a great breakfast place just down the street).

Hotel Balanea is a lovely, central located hotel right on the marina. The bars, restaurants and shops are right on the hotel's doorstep so you have everything close by. You are only a 5 minute walkaway from the train station - perfect if you don't have a car with you. The hotel owner is lovely and gave us a free upgrade - so our room was large, beautifully decorated & had a balcony overlooking the marina. We had enough space for 2 people with 2 suitcases, there was enough storage space for our clothes too. All the people working at the hotel are really lovely, friendly, kind and helpful. We were sad to say goodbye. Hopefully we will meet again in the future.

Wow...what a great little hotel! I found everything very nice... clean, tastefully decorated. The views from my room, and location of the hotel were fantastic. The biggest standout however, was Maria, the front desk clerk while I was there. She was super friendly, soooooo soooo helpful, and just could not have done more. She made a very good stay into a superb experience. I'll happily recommend.

Great location right in the center of Calvi, fantastic view of the bay and the mountains from the balcony in our room and from the terrace in the breakfast area. We booked a standard room, but Ariane who works at the front desk gave us a free upgrade to the room with the balcony and sea view. She was very nice, helpful and speaks fluent English. Good breakfast, free parking 10 min. away.

The location is excellent and breakfast was really good and diverse compare to other hotels we have stayed in on Corsica

There is a loud bar next to the hotel in the harbor that plays really loud music long after midnight. Need more hooks in bathroom and bedroom so you can hang up your clothes and towels. Something to dry wet swimwear and beach towels on would be good.

The location, the location and the location. As a motorcycle traveler it is always a concern to get your bike stored safely for the night. This place Has No Parking. It is located right in the middle of the old town, overlooking the harbour so it shouldn’t be a surprise but there isn’t a parking. Did I mention the parking? Well, there isn’t any. There *ARE* a few good and safe parking areas at a few 100 meters from the hotel. Check them out before you hit town.

Nothing could have been improved on - location was fantastic, parking was close by and free, facilities were superb, but above all we rated the friendliness and helpfulness of reception staff.

great location, breakfast was FABULOUS, right in the old town of Calvi, the decor of reception was lovely, the terrace for breakfast was beautiful too

the air con didn’t work in the room, it had recently been renovated but finishing touches (like chipped skirting board) hadn’t been finished.

This was our first stay in Calvi and the hotel was a wonderful surprise being so well located on the marina. The reception was lovely and we had no problem with the parking!

It was all really nice. Beautiful appointed reception area and friendly people.

We loved the location, the harbour front view from the room was lovely , the rooms are comfortable but may need a little freshened up. Good value for being in such a great location
