Hôtel Edelweiss

Beautiful wood-pannelled room with a nice balcony and large walk-in shower. Good location within easy walking distance of the fortified historic city, yet easy to reach by car with free parking on site.

* The room lacks soundproofing; the television from the neighouring room was very audible. * The breakfast buffet does not include bread; instead, bread is delivered to your table upon request (in small amounts). This in itself would not be a problem, but the breakfast staff seemed overworked and can be difficult to get hold of. Once it was finally delivered though, the bread was delicious. * The view from the balcony is somewhat obstructed by large trees.

We've stayed here a few times but the last was 3 years ago. We like the hotel and its location with Briancon being a great cycling centre. The rooms are clean and modern and a good size.

A couple of disappointments. Our room had a kettle and coffee maker. On our first night we had a couple of coffee pods and 1 tea bag, no milk! Extra coffee pods can be bought at reception. For our second night we had no more coffee pods and no more tea bags. Really a waste of time putting these in a room if supplies are not refreshed. The is a good choice for breakfast but the bread was disappointing, very hard crust and basically air inside. Not a traditional baguette.

Medium-size hotel located between the Briancon city center and restaurants street reachable by 5min walks and the old "medieval citadelle". Hotel personal very helpful and accomodating. Continental Breakfast is good with fresh quality bred!

We got the family room since we booked with a baby, good thing we got a babybed without asking for it, unconviniente and unconfortable was the choice of the room for family with small childrens since room is only accessible by a very steep stairs, not suitable for access with pram.

The view from our room was lovely. The room itself was a good size and very comfortable. There was parking available. The breakfast was very good. Within walking distance of the town centre. They let us leave our car on the morning we checked out so we could visit the old town. The owner was very pleasant. A good place to stay.

Gregoire and the staff made us feel very welcome. The hotel was clean and cozy and we really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. The hotel is a short walk up a hill from one of the big ski lifts which was great. It’s also a short walk to Briançon old town.

Breakfast was simple but good, fresh croissants, eggs and coffee was perfect. Cheese and ham, fruit salad also available. The whole hotel has been recently refurbished, it’s a nice old building, probably lost a lot of character in the refurb but at least it is clean and tidy and everything works. Room size was good but I paid for 3 beds and one of them was a small sofa bed. I do expect an actual bed.

The location of the hotel is near the old town. The room and bathroom are clean and a decent size. Our room had no balcony and no air conditioning. The equipment was as expected. Breakfast is buffet style. Wifi worked great.

The parking space is limited to approximately 10 vehicles.

Staff were so helpful and kind. We were here due to a car break down and mix up with hire car collection- long story! Staff were very accommodating and made this whole experience a lot better than expected! Nice room with a balcony and lovely mountain view.

Good location just a short (uphill) stroll from old town. Parking at the hotel. Affordable for the location. Good views to the mountains. Very friendly staff offering helpful tips on places to visit and general welcoming chat.

No aircon/fan or fridge.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting the old town and parking is secure. The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom had a great shower. The balcony was nice and comfortable to sit outside.

The room was quite hot and there is no air conditioning. We knew that when we booked but it would have been good to have had a fan.
