Hotel Marengo

The location : 2 minutes walk from the beach, and about 25 minutes walk to the old town along the seafront, although there are also closer restaurants, shops and bars. The staff (Marie and Louis) were wonderful, so helpful and pleasant. I was very pleased to have followed their recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The quiet and pretty courtyard where breakfast was served, could also be used to sit for a moment of calm. I had a nice comfortable ground-floor room off the courtyard, with a decent sized fridge and good bathroom.

Can't think of anything really, except maybe no on-site parking. However free street parking nearby was fairly easy to find.

close to the beach and airport, parking can be tricky but we had no problems, very clean with comfortable beds and nice crisp sheets, air conditioning and two showers were great, we only stayed one night to be close to the airport, our flight was at 7am, there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room which you would expect there to be for the price we paid, but the hostess went above and beyond to make sure we had coffee at 4:30am with madeleines and jam plus apple juice for our children.

Room was stylishly decorated and comfortable. Hotel located a pleasant 15-20 minutes walk from centre ville along the sea front. We got lucky with parking as someone was leaving a space in the narrow road where the hotel is located just as we arrived. Parking could be tricky in high season though. Best breakfast of our holiday; tea, coffee or hot chocolate, yoghurt, fruit salad, jam, pastries all produced on Corsica. Don't know why it's only a 2 star hotel, unless it's because it doesn't serve dinner? We ate dinner at U Pettirossu on Blvd Madame Mere, not cheap but food and service excellent.

Really close location to the beach and bars there. Comfortable, clean, air-conditioned room (we shared a 2 bedroom suite with another couple). Great recommendations for dinner. They allowed us to leave some luggage there whilst we hiked sections of the GR20. We did not try the breakfast, but it was in a beautiful courtyard.

20-30 min walk through town from the ferry port/train station. 2 bedroom suite was a bit cramped for 2 couples.. Fine for 1-2 nights.

Great Little Hotel located only 1 block from the beach. They serve a great breakfast out on the front patio. My room was great , with a small balcony. Much more than I expected. During my travels I had a package that had failed to arrive.The owner was extremely helpful in finding the package.She went above and beyond. Because of the Owner , her staff and their wonderful Hotel . I can highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Lovely little hotel, 100m from the beach. Very clean, spacious bedroom in a lovely old house. Very nice breakfast served in the courtyard. Louis and Marie were extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Not great views-just a building opposite, but didn’t spend any time sitting on the balcony anyway!

Hotel Marengo is on a quiet street less than two blocks from a beach. The neighborhood has a number of cafes and restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel. Breakfast is available at the hotel for 15 Euros per person however we were able to find a petite dejeuner for 8 Euros just two blocks from the hotel. Our sunny room overlooking beautiful the garden was immaculate. Our hostess was both welcoming and helpful in navigating our first visit to Ajaccio.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. A misunderstanding with the reservation was sorted out to our satisfaction. Super clean, quiet and peaceful. Great location. Close to the beach and a lovely promenade to the city centre. Restaurants and shops nearby. Will definately stay here if we come back to Ajaccio.

The staff could not have done enough for us. Welcoming, warm atmosphere. Beautiful courtyard garden where we were able to have breakfast. Great comfy bed and lovely pillows. Easy to reach the beach and the town from this location and easy free parking located close to the hotel. Breakfast was fabulous too! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back. Thank you

Nothing all was lovely!

The staff was so helpful, friendly and all around sweet! As a woman traveling alone, I felt super safe and looked after. Thank you! I didn’t book breakfast so can’t provide any info on that but can say with certainty the hotel is really comfy and a true home away from home. Add in the brilliant location and you have yourself an excellent place to stay in Ajaccio. Would 10/10 book here again. Cheers! Georgia
