Scandic Rovaniemi City

The hotel is located about 1km to the railway station. We walked to it very conveniently along a main street within 20 mins. The suroundings of hotel is just the city center, and you can go to the most North MacDonald, the walking street and the large river. My child played with the water excitedly near the river. The breakfast is unstinted with many kinds. Because the travelling day was rainy, we ordered the taxi to the Christmas village from the reception desk, the response was very fast. Therefore, it was a good selection.

No problem. I wish a close range between the hotel and the Christmas village, it is now 7km. The regular bus between them is one hour frequency. Maybe a special car to the village from the hotel at specific time for the homies is a good choice. Best

Great hotel for a stop over as our flight was late into Finland. The room and bathroom was very clean, very quiet and comfortable. Overall I was impressed with how cheap it was and how well maintained the hotel was. Really good location - we paid 7 Euros for a bus from the airport which dropped us off right outside the hotel, very near to restaurants so we could go and have some food after a long day. Reception were very helpful and the breakfast was busy, but well managed and a good choice.

My only criticism is at the breakfast, the eggs (scrambled and hard-boiled) were very undercooked. For medical reasons, I can only eat well-cooked eggs so I thought hard-boiled would be the safe options, I took 2 and both were so soft inside the yolk was running and the egg-white was like water.

Safe, central location, comfortable beds and pillows. Very good breakfast, especially eggs and karjalanpiirakat. Hertz car rental just next door and convenient car parking next to the hotel. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Shower door was a bit tricky to use and some water always leaked through no matter how well I thought I had closed it.

We had a great stay at the Scandic City Rovaniemi Hotel. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and warm. The bathroom is little but more than adequate. The toiletries supplied were very nice. The staff were friendly, helping out with any issue and always there if you had a question. The location is perfect for all the activities we had planned. We were able to get taxis and pick ups without any problem. Most tours picked up directly from the hotel. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance of this hotel and a place across the street to rent warm weather clothing. The breakfast had lots of options (including options for vegans) and it was nice that the hours were extended on the weekend. Thanks for a lovely stay.

it is clean, modern and relatively spacious. Most remarkably it is in the perfect location between McDonalds ,a supermarket in a shopping centre with an ATM both over the road, and adjacent to local restaurants. Although we had 2 separate rooms, they were adjacent to each other with a separate common area that was hidden from the main corridor.

The gym was basic and had no view but we were out of the hotel all the time anyway. The male and female saunas are on the top floor and are basic.

Pretty central location in Rovaniemi. Almost everywhere is in walking distance, including train and bus station. Comfortable bed and nice room. Tasty and good breakfast. Price / value was also good.

There were no slippers in the room. We have called the reception and asked for slippers, but they said that they don't have such thing. It was a bit uncomfortable on walking around the room after shower.

Great central location. Friendly staff. Great selection for breakfast. Breakfast got busy at times but manageable. Lovely quiet rooms. Nice and warm. Rooms were compact but more than enough for a base. They were great at putting our 2 rooms together.

I know some rooms get a kettle but can't see why they all can't? There's room for a full sized ironing board so why not a kettle? Cleaning under furniture could have been better as we found random bits from previous guests.

Location of the hotel is in the downtown of Rovaniemi. Lots of restaurants are around the hotel, so food is not a problem during stay. Also, there is a supermarket just across the road. It is a building with large LEDs on the wall, go inside and down by an elevator, you can buy snacks, fruit, drinks, and sledge there.

The room is relatively small, especially you travel with a big luggage. Also, shower room is a bit tight. Except this, everything looks okay for me.

Great location, good transport links, polite and helpful staff, comfy sauna, bathroom with heated floor and a good shower, comfy bed, blackout blinds, heater, breakfast was ok, the place was great for my purposes. Good wifi although I didn't do any work during my stay but was good for entertainment. It's located right opposite a shopping centre with a good supermarket. Everything is close by as well, including Coffee House and Espresso House only a couple mins walk away if you need good coffee.

No room service during my stay, the only option for dinner was a 35eur buffet (I could never eat this much for dinner/supper after 7pm to justify the price, I was only after a small bite), no lunch options, there was a kettle in the room but I don't think it's ever been washed and it smelled mouldy so I couldn't use it, but there is a hot water machine downstairs.

Scandic Hotel Rovaniemi City is truly at the heart of Rovaniemi, shops, restaurants, points of interest next doors. We stayed the Christmas period there and enjoyed the rich and tasty buffets at the hotel restaurant, saw a glimpse of Santa himself on Christmas eve hurrying to his worldly tour. The staff was welcoming and tried to always find a solution to our party's requests. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped and very warm, like all the premises in the hotel are. We enjoyed the sauna section also located at our rooms' floor. We were greeted by a beautiful snow fall, there was fresh show to enjoy all holiday through. The various activities to Santa Village and elsewhere were conveniently organised from and to the hotel.

Covid sitiation set its challenges, regulations, policies changing during our stay. It was obvious that large part of the staff was freshly recruited, still learning their ways. The main lobby is a bit crowded and tight when large groups are gathering there. It was also the only lounge / bar area, as one of the restaurants was closed.
