Bamboo Backpackers Hostel

The only hostel in Nadi. Good value for money. AC is fine although it doesn't reach inside the capsules so it feels a bit stuffy. They have a tourist agency on site and they're really helpful! I usually hate agencies but it's really hard to get information about homestays and attractions in Fiji without them.

No kitchen unfortunately. Their driver nearly killed us on the way to the airport driving on the wrong side of the road and nearly hitting an oncoming car! It seemed like he was falling asleep. Far from the centre and from the airport but you can easily hitchhike. No curtains on most beds.

Good location with plenty of restaurants nearby. Good facilities and super friendly staff. Great to see an affordable accommodation option for travelers on a budget! Luggage storage was helpful for leaving bigger bags when zipping off to the islands - free, provided you book nights both sides of your trip.

Top bunk had a thinner mattress than the bottom one and I woke up both days with a very sore back. There was a long balcony with a clothes line outside our bunk room but it was full of mattresses airing so no access available which was a shame. The Beach Club opposite had live music both nights we were there (Fri & Sat), so be prepared for loud amplified music late into the night. Also lots of dogs barking.

The staff - in particular Emeri, are so lovely. They are very helpful and I definitely recommend booking any excursions through them as they won't rip you off. If you get the double room with aircon you'll be absolutely thrilled. The rooms without Aircon are fine but it does get very hot. Great little free activities happening throughout the day and a good bar over the road.

The shared bathroom is okay but as the beach nearby is a very dark muddy sand it does get grubby quickly, just wear shoes in there and you'll be fine, I would recommend a private bathroom if it's available.

Dorm rooms pretty standard but actually quite nice. Plug sockets by some beds and beds comfortable. Facilities were good, clean and spacious. Laundry service offered for a charge but does not include tumble dry. Great location, right by Wailoaloa beach and short bus ride to Nadi town centre. Bus goes from right outside and is max $2 to town.

Not much to dislike. Met all my expectations as a hostel and is great for backpackers at such an affordable price.

The room was very clean and spacious with welcoming staff.

The plug sockets in my room didn’t work very well, and I had to get somebody to try and fix them twice. I was robbed on the nearby beach, something that I was told by police had also happened to a couple girls very recently who were also staying at bamboo. I wish the staff had made me aware of this before I went on the beach, where the same thing happened to me.

the staff was super professional, helpful and caring, which is outstanding for fiji especially being professional and reactive to the needs of customers. close to the beach , we can also benefit from a swimming pool 50 m along the road at blue water lodge. the dorms are spacious and clean, the private double rooms with bathroom are also nice and spacious( l stayed in both)

the double room did not have much natural.light coming in. cleanliness could be improved but it is correct considering the huge turnover of backpackers. the bed was broken on one side (but they would have fixed it if l had said something.)

The Bamboo Backpackers is in a strategic location in Nadi. In fact, Port Denarau (from where all the day trips to the islands leave) is easily reachable thanks to several daily shuttles. There is also a nice restaurant/café/club just next to it and a supermarket just around the corner. The room I was in was simple and clean, and the a/c saved me several times! But what is really special about this place are the people, who are LOVELY and will make you feel like you are at home! I absolutely enjoyed staying at this amazing place, where I met so many wonderful people that I will always remember. THANK YOU!

Perfect hostel environment to meet new people, tables outside are always full of people, as well as kava evenings. Hot water in the shower, always boiling water for tea, clean bed sheets daily if you want. Lockers in the room, but you have to have your own lock.

Food gets stolen on a daily basis:( Fire alarm goes too often, it was once that it worked three times overnight. No passport control, check is very simple. Generally loud area, you need earplugs definitely.

Very friendly staff. 2 min walk to swim in the warm, flat sea (beach was a little more muddy than sandy). Little restaurant/bars by the sea. I had a private room (bunk beds) with a sink. The dorms were big, airy, had no bunk beds but also no privacy and nowhere to put your stuff. No lounge to hang out in but some sitting space in reception and a couple of picnic tables outdoors (plus a hammock). The neighborhood is safe, not close to town, more and more small-ish hotels being built in the area. Good value for money.

A big group fridge would be nice. There's a supermarket 5 mins away but no place at the hostel to keep anything cold. The upstairs shower didn't work but the 2 downstairs did (no hot water but not a problem when the weather is so warm). No air conditioning but fans did the job for me. The first day the wifi was fine; the next day it was out most of the day and, until I left the next afternoon, it absolutely crawled--very frustrating.

Great location and my room was perfectly comfortable during my stay. The rooms and premises are kept very clean and tidy as staff work around the clock to ensure guests are comfortable and looked after when it comes to day trips, tours and moving on to their next spot! Bamboo is located across the street from the Beach Club where you can go to get something eat or have a drink with new friends and the Nadi nightlife is a short 6FJD taxi ride away. There is an ATM and supermarket down the road which you can walk to to get your needs and there's always tourists around so the area is quite safe.
