Located at the famous Champollion street, this hotel is 2 blocks away from the Cairo museum. We used the hotel sort of as transition during our trip. We paid one night so we can store our luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport for our trip to Luxor. The hotel doesn't start the first floor. It starts at the 6 floor. We got a little confused going up on the elevators. Got lost because we took the second elevator in the property which requires a key card to go up because there are actually apartments on the lower floors. After that it was straight forward. Rooms booked thorough booking.com were reserved and paid; waiting for us. The rooms are very nice and clean; good size too. Bathrooms are also very clean although the shower is kind of small. The small shower seems to be a thing in Egypt. We walk from the hotel to the Cairo museum. Is only 5 minutes away. Staff was very helpful and nice. They help us call a taxi for the airport when we left that night.

The fact the hotel starts at the 6th floor and there is no one to help you on the bottom floor is something they should look to improve.

The staff was very friendly and helpful had nice clean rooms with multiple English speaking channels! Lol. We were glad we picked this after place after we had stayed at another hotel that was horrible.

The main entrance to the building is very deceiving compared to the floor that the hotel is on. And you can only access the very small/scary elevator with a key fob so you'll have to call for someone to help you up! Bathroom was very tight! Someone of a larger statute would not be able to fit in past the sink!

Staff were very helpful, Rafik, Tohamy and Jamal were supportive and provided information and support as needed. My initial booking was not with this Hotel, my room was not ready with the initial hotel so they requested me to have one night stay in the Grand Palace Hotel. Following my first night and the treatment of the staff I decided to stay my whole stay in this hotel. The location of the Hotel is strategic, it is close to everything you need (supermarkets, food, shopping, pharmacy, etc). It is a walking distance from the museum and the Nile. I would like to thank the staff for their help. I enjoyed my stay there.

My room at the first night was close to the stairs so it was a bit noisy. I requested to change it on the second night and they provided me with a nice room with balcony on the 7th floor. The room was spacious. Breakfast was simple but enough for me (boiled eggs, bread and cheese, jam). The hotel from outside looks old, but the rooms and bathrooms are refurbished. The rooms are as the photos here. I added some photos of the view from the balcony.

The hotel was well located, in a centric location yet quiet enough. A good size room, spacious and nice, with very comfy beds. They were also extremely helpful at the reception when I requested changes in the reservation, also arranged transport to the airport with a very friendly taxi driver. They spoke good English and were very fast in replying to any question/ request.

Very minor detail, a towel mat could have been useful next to the shower and a bit of shampoo (though I had my own so I did not mind).

I loved the location of the hotel and the access to every place you would want to go..... Excellent!! The staff and manager were extremely friendly and always there to help you,I can surely say I will come back again and advise anyone who wants to adventure eygpt,come to grand palace hotel 👌❤️,love from shafique.

Perfect hotel for this money! Everything clean. There are different rooms, just ask to show what's available. So pity that I didn't stay here from the beginning. First night I spent in City Palace hotel (terrible place with dirty entrance, stairs, rats, mold on the walls). So Grand Palace hotel become like a paradise after. Even the street more pleasant and calm Don't be scared and feel free to book it

Absolutely satisfied for this money

The hotel is very clean, quiet, and well run. It is also very close to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, and the staff are all really friendly and hardworking. I will go back to GPH on my next trip to Cairo, too. : ) It was a great stay for me, all 'round!

To be honest, there was nothing negative during my time there.

Only a few steps from the museum. The quality of our room was above expectations based on the other reviews. We had a room with a nice view of downtown Cairo, the museum and the Nile in the distance.

The rest of the building is in very poor shape. The hotel floor is renovated however. The breakfast was nothing special (buns, tea and jam) but enough to get some food in you to start the day.

It is right in the middle of Downdown, all the famous places, markets and river Nile is on walking distance. Staff is very kind, helping, and cooperative.

Nothing as such to dislike. By the way, hotel is on 6th floor of the building but it has elevators. Some people may not prefer high floors.

The staff members are helpful and cooperative. Tohami, the receptionist, was a great support for our stay.

Nothing, the place is good for the money. Its location is near everything and close to the museum and to many facilities for shopping. It is clean and has good air conditioning.
