Hotel Central

My second stay at Hotel Central was just as pleasant as the first one. The hotel is right in the center of Zagreb next to the main Train Station, Modern Art Gallery, and the Art Pavillion. The Ban Jelacic Square and the old historic town are within a short 10-minute walk.  The tramway stops right next to the hotel on the way to the Central Bus Station, and the shuttle to the Airport.  The hotel staff arranged a taxi ride for me to the airport early in the morning, and this worked out just fine. Very happy with this stay as well.

Nice hotel on the foot of the old center of Zagreb city. Building is a bit older, but equipment and services are very good - spacious room, comfortable beds, reconstructed, big bathroom and very good breakfast. It is opposite the train staiton and paid underground parking is very nearby. Definitely a perfect choice for a short visit of Zagreb!

Perfect location! Next to the main railway station and very close city center. Public parking directly in front of the hotel (saturday after 15:00 and whole sunday for free). Tasty breakfast. Clean rooms.

Quadruple room was a little bit small.

Room was clean, facilities were good n modern. Staff were friendly enough. Location was just fantastic, within 3mins walk to the train station & parks

No complimentary water n coffee making

Very friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. Clean room (a bit outdated, but I didn't care), everything worked, and I appreciated full length mirror (it's a mistery to me that so many hotels don't have that). I've read some people were cold during the night - I did not experience that at all. Breakfast ok; both sweet and savory. I stayed there alone and felt safe. Location was perfect as I wanted to be near the center and all the holiday events, without having to use public transport or my car. You can reach the main square in 10-15 min by foot, and it is a nice walk. Re: parking; I parked in the nearby underground garage and payed the daily price of 20€ (you pay at the hotel). As I was there during Christmas advent season, it was impossible to find an outdoor street parking around the hotel. Underground garage was a good option; it's 100m/1 minute walk away from hotel.

Nothing really negative to say.

The hotel is in a very central location. There is opposite the railway station and also a tram stop.You can easily find nearby cafes, a pharmacy, a mini market and a park for walking. Inside the Hotel was very clean, all the staff very polite and with a very good spirit. Our room was bigger than we thought and the breakfast buffet as well!! Οverall we were absolutely pleased! Of course i'm going to visit it again when i'll go back to Zgreb

my only negative point was the opening hours of the cafe Inside the hotel. It was open only a few hours of the a day. And that's why my rate was 9 instead of 10

Handily located to rail and bus terminals. A good area adjacent to one of the main city parks, within walking distance to the popular areas of Zagreb. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean with comfortable bedding. The bathroom was quite good and appeared to have been upgraded at some stage, except that there was some leakage under the shower glass door onto the bathroom floor. Room fittings were consistent with a tourist hotel and generally in good condition. Air conditioning worked fine. The breakfast was consistent with the hotel rating - plenty to eat, a reasonable range of choice and overall good food quality. Public areas were generally in good condition.

The property was consistent with its overall rating - it’s a three star hotel, but earns its stars. Clientele appeared to be mostly group tourists. It’s not the Sheraton but the staff and facilities were fine. Would have no problem staying there again, mainly for its convenience.

Hotel location is great. Very close to the heart of Zagreb and next to the number of tram stations. Rooms are recently renovated and quite comfortable. In the room there is a nice big TV. In the bathroom there is a hair dryer. If you are staying during the summer it id good to know that there is an AC. Breakfast was always the same but there was a nice variety of food.

It is impossible to find public parking so spare yourself and go to the Importanne garage immediately. It is 20€ per day. You pay these daily parking tickets at the hotel, not at the machine in the garage. Windows are completely made of glass, so during the colder nights you will feel the cold air entering the room. For us this was a problem as the windows are next to the bed. We used blankets to make a barrier under the windows. Our heater in the room wasn't working properly so they have us a smaller heater at the reception. There is no closet, only couple of hangers, so if you are staying longer here, be prepared to keep your clothes in the suitcase. Elevator goes to the 4th floor, so if your room is on 5th floor you will have to climb one floor, but there are not a lor of stairs.

The best thing about this hotel is its location: so easy to reach main areas of central Zagreb, and right next to the main train-station, and the tram lines. There are no frills, but it is an excellent base. Staff were always helpful (especially Tibor, who really knew his stuff!). Breakfast was better than expected, with quite a good range, and efficient, unfussy service. Cooked options were a bit 'tired', but there was plenty to set you up for the day. And the bed was very comfortable. Overall, a quiet, calm hotel, in an excellent location.

Surprised there was no kettle, in the room (one was supplied, on request) - unusual, for a medium-level hotel. Also, no cups, tea-bags, etc.

Excellent friendly and helpful staff, very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Rooms must have been soundproofed, as we heard hardly anything during the nights, yet the hotel was busy. Good choice for breakfast both hot and cold, topped up right up to the close time. Location is perfect for travel, opposite the railway station, and 20 mins walk to the bus station,the tram service around the city from outside the front door is excellent. Checkout is 12 noon, which is helpful if you have a late flight or train.

A kettle in the room would have been welcome, but is not a problem.
