GHL San Lazaro Art Hotel

Breakfast was great. There was a variety of local and foreign foods daily. Juices were mixed blends rather than plain. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean with a mini-bar that included water. Wifi was strong. The hotel was close to a supermarket and the San Fallipe Castille. Would strongly recommend going to the fort early in the morning before the crowd and hot sun. There was also a pharmacy on the ground floor.

The dinner menu is very limited. TV was stuck on 1 channel - this didn't bother us much, but thought to include in case. We requested taxis from the front desk to move around and wish they were more informative about charges - we paid a variety of prices for trips that were exactly the same.

Beside the bad location, the hotel has only positive points: staff is friendly, hotel is modern silent and clean, the facilities are good and also a nice breakfast.

Even if there are only 500m from the historical center, the hotel location is in a creapy and dangerous area without police around. You cannot go by walking to the center, only using the taxi. The phone of my girlfriend was STOLEN directly from her hands by a motorcyclist(at 6PM, so not in the night) - Unfortunately we were not informed by the hotel stuff that this could happen to us if we are planing to walk by ourselves. Even the police will tell you they can t do much thing about it. Take it as it is.

_Bathroom was not properly cleaned and had rest of hair from previous guests on the shower box floor😔 _Room with castle view has the downside to be exposed to noisy street with reggaeton after 10pm _ Uncomfortable pillows. It could be an option of memory foam pillow type _ Outdated Check-in experience: It's unbelievable that we are in 2023 and we still have a check-in process with a lot of frictions and paper to fulfill and non-GDPR compliant documents printing. Booking.com could provide an online checking feature to solve the pain point for the hotels hosted in their platform

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff were fantastic and we felt very safe and comfortable throughout. The rooms are very large with the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in! Great bathroom with double sinks and huge walk in shower. The pool and view of the castle was fantastic and the breakfast buffet was varied and really good. The mall nearby was really useful with lots of food options.

Only downside would be needing to take a short taxi to get into Getsemani or the walled city, but not a big issue and a safer way to get around.

We were greeted with a great smile by Jesus, who was very attentive and welcoming. Along with the bell boy , Juan who went above and above to make our stay a great one . The restaurant food was amazing and the view of the castillo made for a great vacation.

Can’t really say much about what I didn’t like about the hotel , maybe pool could have been a bit bigger. But with the view you get from the pool , the size didn’t really matter .

We were incredibly happy with the hotel (stayed 3 nights over Easter), the rooms were spacious, beds comfortable (the most comfortable we have ever had throughout our travels in Colombia) the pool is the perfect temperature (it is not huge, but it is excellent for a dip in and for the kids. The view of the castle never gets old! The location being close to Old Town, but away from the chaos was ideal and the best part of the hotel is the staff. They were all so attentive and helpful! We were a family group of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids) mix of Colombians and Americans. Everyone was happy! Thank you to the wonderful staff! P.S. breakfast is SO much food and delicious!

I had crazy neighbors who made so much noise and woke me up at 6 am while they sounded like breaking doors. When I call reception they didn't react like I expect them to, just apologize. No compensation have been offered as well. No sounds proof. The location is from one side beautiful castle, but if you look the other way, it's not lovely, to say the least. I could have better toiletries in the shower.

An excellent hotel with stunning views of el castillo San Felipe. Our room was spacious and clean on arrival, room was cleaned daily and we were left with fresh towels. Breakfast was buffet style with a variety of typical food from Cartagena such as carimañolas and arepa de huevo with also continental style options such as pancakes and cereal. The staff were friendly, the reception team call taxi's if you require them. The staff member that really stood out for us was Roberto the doorman who was always incredibly helpful, polite and added that star touch to our five day stay.

This is a lovely small hotel. It's very well designed with a beautiful terrace and roof top restaurant with pool. We had a lovely big room and bathroom. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful and went above and beyond. It's right next to the castle so we made a quick visit here. The breakfast was pretty good. We also ate lunch here and thought the food was very nice. It's a good location for getting in and out of Cartagena.

Can't really think of anything. It's a bit of a walk to the old town but not too far and you can go through the shopping centre or get a short taxi.

All the staff members were very nice and welcoming. Especially Roberto the bellman, Nicest guy in all of Cartagena. Even when my room wasn't ready, he came and got from the restaurant lobby with my bags already in my room. Outstanding hospitality from Roberto

The view from my room sucked but I know you can't have a city view from every room. Felt like the AC didn't work at times but I guess it was in eco conservation mode
