Big Bird Inn

The Big Bird Inn has been remodeled and it really nice! Clean and comfortable rooms. The TV was outfitted with a Roku device and several streaming platforms were available to use (Disney+, Netflix etc) Which my teenager enjoyed. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The Friendly staff was accommodating when my teen was ill (not related to the room itself), and seemed genuinely concerned. A very kind bunch!

There are a few little things missing. No in-room coffee maker, cups or glasses, or additional hooks to hang towels or clothing in the bathroom. Electrical outlets seem to be in odd spots near the desk. All of these things are very minor for us however.

The location was perfect area ! Walking distance to food , a store ! It was very convenient!

I didn’t like the fact that I’m 7 months pregnant and had a very important appointment the next morning , and the ppl across from me where drunk ppl from a company that were staying the night ! There was 15 ppl in 1 room screaming and yelling running up and down the hall like they were children ! Swearing when others like me and my spouse and the ppl near us with a baby were trying to sleep , the lady that night shift had told them to be quiet and they were really rude to her ! I tried to ignore it but they weren’t being quiet I had told her again ! And she had put me and my spouse in a different room upstairs ! It was very professional and I was so happy with that !! Thank u to her for doing such a wonderful thing and doing her job so wonderfully

NO use of any fabric softener means I had the BEST sleep at any hotel I've ever been at without needing to bring my own linens. Extremely clean. Staff is super friendly, especially the gentleman cleaning up rooms that morning. Room was more than adequate. Bed was nice.

A few things we're unplugged and took me a minute to realize (TV, fridge). TV remote refused to allow adjustment to volume with no physical buttons on the TV. It was loud enough, so no big deal. No small desk suitable for laptop.

Lots of space in the room. Close to a great restaurant. Very clean. Nice to have coffee, water, cookies available in lobby.

It is a minor thing but it seems like little things usually expected in a motel/hotel room were missing. ie Alarm clock, luggage rack, box of tissues. Little things would make a huge difference. Carpet could use a good clean soon.

Can't beat the location. Didn't have to drive to Sault Ste Marie! And best of all, didn't have to stay in Thunder Bay, which is the worst place on Earth. Helpful staff were able to sort out booking problems and got us into some rooms late at night.

Rooms were not reserved after booking through booking.com. Hotel said they didn't receive a copy of the request, although I had a confirmation number. In this case they were able to fix it, but I'd advise calling ahead.

There was no breakfast. We really liked the coffe and tea bar bar in the foyer. Especially the chocolate chip cookies in the jar - nice extra touch! Very welcoming. Friendly fellow at reception. Suggestion: bowl of fruit.

Better instructions to use the TV (Roqu). Not sure how to use streaming tv. Electric fireplace did not work.

bathtub / shower very slippery: needs grips on bottom and possibly handrail not able to plug own streaming device into TV charge for pet is unnecessary, particularly with no carpet in room side door near rooms 101-102 very loud with people leaving at various hours

Great location, clean room, comfortable bed. Room with kitchen was great, as we could cook our own meals. There is not much choice to go out for dinner in Wawa.

One day we had fire alarm on a few times due to broken alarm system.

The room was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. We had a great time sightseeing.

We have visited Big Bird a few times. The wifi keeps cutting off regardless of the position of our rooms. This affected my working and watching TV.

Comfortable beds, slept soundly with little to no noise at all on the main floor even. It was actually the bed that had drawn me to book here in the first place and it was as pictured in their advertisement.

Our room, 2 Queen had very old, thin, worn and even frayed. Bring a kettle and your own coffee or tea if you’re wanting any in your suite, as they’ve been taken out of all places we stayed across Canada last week. Still has fridge and microwave.
