Maples Motel

I was there for a course, aug 15-18-2022, stayed in room 5, I have seen pics posted for this room on other review sites actually and this aligned for the most part. The room is small, like a guesthouse if you have ever stayed in those, it was on par. The room is small, queen sized bed, maybe a little soft for my liking. the TV was so-so, reception a little snowy, I dont watch TV except for weather anyways... Bathroom, was host to the (window) air cond so you open bathroom door to cool the room, AC a little noisey, but par for a "window" unit. Bathtub nawww its basically a large shower stall. Im fine with that. The Toilet is a little close to the wall, so its a little tight if you are a bigger person. Also had a small desk, a bar fridge, and a little 1 cup coffee machine. Great location, 2 block walk to the lake, which had a boardwalk some picnic tables & benches, nice view. A metro grocery store 1 block away (open till 9 pm) as well as a couple pharmacies, a liquor store a bike shop, small Chinese takeout, a subway & Mr. Sub & a pair of "pubs" all in 3 blocks. Lots of parking if ya need that, and another parking lot out back if ya had an RV. Location is right off the "main drag" I think it was called "front street" The front desk is a family operation and they were helpful and cheerful, but by no means a "marriot" experience. They were super nice and were fine when I had to alter my reservation (on 24 hours notice as I booked wrong date) it was $90/ nite (still prime season) so with taxes n stuff, I would say a little over $300 for my 3 night stay. It is a great crash pad, if you just need a place to crash without spending to much money. This is not a high end luxury venue for those who need that. I also saw no bugs of any sort, this was a concern that worried me from other reviewers.

Hmm, I like a very firm mattress, and these mattresses were a little soft for my liking. Some light sleepers would probably not be happy about a window air cond unit, those are noisey.... I always sleep with ear plugs, no probs. And the toilet is a little close to the bathroom wall, so not much leg room if you are a bigger person. I am 5'7" and just enough for me.

Awesome location, within walking distance of everything. Hot water and powerful shower. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Spacious and warm with a space heater provided

Bed and pillows not comfortable, sink did not drain

First is the operator/owner was very nice and accommodating, sorry forgot his name. First I have a little note request on my booking and he called me to tell me about what he can do about the request. When we were there he accommodate all our request and offer some more with a smiling happy face. He is really a treat to deal with when you're in a vacation. The units are really clean. I wouldn't say spotless as it's really dated but if you'll look closely you'll be confident that they took their time cleaning the place. You can't ask for a better location. It's facing the better side of the city, quiet and beautiful houses, literally close to the water and park (a block away), grocery and pharmacy at the back, downtown/entertainment district a couple of blocks.

Ground level. Quiet area. Air condioner on when we arrived on a hot day. Clean white sheets and extra pillows. Small fridge to keep our drinks cold. Close to restaurants.

Very dated but clean. Could use updated curtains and bed cover but really no complaints.

Really excellent location, close to the water, close to shops and main street. Great price and so many handy items in the room, e.g. place to put suitcases, fridge, microwave, etc. Good wifi and great TV channels. Our special request for extra pillows was no problem.

Besides rooms/furniture being a little outdated and worn, we wish there was a nightstand on each side of the bed. But really, nothing much to complain about and it's not like you can't tell from the pictures that it is an older motel.

The motel was lovely. High scale and modern...no, but comfy bed, clean bathroom, comfortable temperature and friendly check in. Fridge, coffee and microwave in the room. Would totally recommend if you are in search of a worry free economical option.

Love the owner/mangers . They were friendly and welcoming. Very helpful service. Comfortable bed. Little coffee maker made perfect coffee. Quiet and cool with A/C .

Hair dryer in bathroom did not work. Bed spread was itchy . No plug for tub.

It's in a quiet area. The price is descent compared to other places. Some places are way too expensive. Liked the fridge and microwave. Clean white sheets.

It's dated but nothing wrong with it

A Basic Motel with a decent price for an overnight stay.

Room has no heating at all. I had to use the small bathroom heater provided. Same with the bathroom was too cold to be there for a few minutes.

I loved how close it was to the water since we did show up on seadoos and docked at the marina! Also loved how close it was to all the little cafes and boutique stores! Just minutes away from walking!

Only thing was the air conditioning was in the washroom and it was hard to push the cold air into the room! Besides that all was great!
