Crowne Plaza Hotel-Niagara Falls/Falls View, an IHG Hotel

The only thing good about Crowne Plaza Niagra was the manager at front desk and her team. I had booked through booking.com along with breakfast for 3 nights. The breakfast was pathetic and staff in the restaurant was rude. The room we got was so small it could only accommodate 2 people but we got booked for 4 adults. I don’t think the hotel should book it knowing how old and small these rooms are. I paid almost $500 per night for such a conjusted room with a small bathroom. After the restaurant staff got rude with me over tip I went and complained to the front manager and asked them to refund my money so I could go stay at another hotel but she promised to make sure to improve their service and make our experience better if we stay. Since I had paid for a fallsview room the staff moved us to a bigger room better for a family. I’d say the promise was kept.

Food

The view was nice. The location was perfect for the kids to enjoy Clifton Hill and all the eateries. The staff was always friendly and the hotel was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was also nice to purchase waterpark tickets at a discounted rate.

The room was very small with very little bathroom storage options. The air conditioning wasn't very efficient and the room always felt humid and damp. It was also disappointing to see that the hot tubs were not functioning after a long day on our feet.

The location is in the heart of Cliffton Hill so it was an easy access to a lot of places, restaurants, souvenirs, etc. Their indoor pool was big which was not what I am expecting at first. There’s a dry sauna, shower even tables and chairs to put your stuff, lots of towels. I like their fitness centre as well, very clean. Our room is just in front of the elevator which is a good thing.

The view from our room is ok, although you really have to peep to the window to see the falls. I think the lock on our door has a problem, because we had to insert our key card multiple times before it opens.

The room so comfortable and quite the view was good , the beds really comfy and i like the water park is injoyable place for kids , The resturant view amazing . Cleaning was good in general

But i dont like how they charged me for the car parking which should be free for the hotel guests , I booked the room via booking .com for 2 adults and 2 kids with breakfast but in the hotel they charged me again for the kids meals . and when we finish our breakfast the waiter follow us with a form requesting us to sign for a tips which is unfair because its open buffet and self service plus the buffet is poor and it was similler menu for two days. **check-in at 4 pm and check-out starts at 11 am which is unusuale and unfair

Location was perfect. Room was clean, extremely comfortable especially the beds. Easy to walk to anywhere we needed to go. Friendly staff. The room we stayed in was very unique and gave us a bit of privacy/separation between beds. The room had tons of space.

Room was a bit expensive. No fan in the bathroom. Would have liked to use the hot tub but it was closed. The Prime restaurant although a beautiful location was a huge disappointment. We sat for 15 minutes before even being acknowledged. So we left without even ordering.

My room wasn't exactly facing a 'nice-looking parking lot,' but something about this hotel has an older charm you might not get from Sheraton or other newer hotels. This building has been around since the early 1900s. But some of the people working there went above and beyond making you feel comfortable. I speak of the housekeeping staff. We booked with them within five minutes of deciding to vacation to Niagara this summer. This does not typically happen and it is usually a struggle for a couple of hours to find a hotel you want to go to. The efficiency of this hotel is pretty good.

My only reservation is why they don't tell you up front what you are paying for because my mom detested the parking lot view we had and the view of some fire escapes on the opposite side. You have to remind them that you need the room cleaned or fresh towels on a daily basis, who doesn't? This is an executive decision and not the fault of the amazing housekeepers working there. Don't get excited about their gym as it only contains an elliptical machine, two treadmills, and one exercise ball.

Staff were very helpful when we requested that one room be changed. Location is close to all the attractions on Clifton Hill and to many restaurants.

March break was terribly overcrowded - affecting the use of elevators, it also made it necessary to ask for at least one of our 2 rooms (which were quite small with a view of the parking garage) to be changed as the bathrooms were so compact that space around the toilet is restrictive. Cost of parking and resort fees and destination fees make this an expensive option.

Location of the hotel is beyond perfect( almost every attraction is so close kids enjoyed going to them multiple times) , Room and bathroom was clean , room service is doing a great job. Best part of this hotel is that its connected to water park ,cafe,casino & shops .. in an event of rain(which happened to us ..we didn't have to step out or miss out having fun)

Rooms were a little small (so is the toilet , could be a uncomfortable for big people)but was very neat . could have offered a complementary breakfast/parking for a 3 days stay ( they do provide few complementary items...looks more of a namesake ..hey something better than nothing)

Room was spacious for us and greatly appreciated in talking with others in less fortunate rooms.

Room was dark and could benefit from extra lighting - we were unaware of the windows opening directly into the pool deck but managed. Majority of staff was very friendly and helpful minus one woman at the front desk that really put a hamper on that feeling. We were disappointed in not being offered the dance competition parking rate being that was our reason for staying at this hotel

After initially being assigned rooms at the rear of the hotel overlooking the parking lot, our request to change rooms was accepted and acted upon quickly. The rooms wee were given were much larger with a partial view of the American Falls. King size beds with plenty of space to move around.

The rooms were across from the elevators and the elevators are quite noisy. Don't know if there was repair work going on on a floor above, but at times it was also noisy above us. There could have been a little heavier coverlet on the bed, found it a bit cool with the air conditioning.
