The Bayview Motel

Breakfast was not included, so no opinion about that. Restaurant was close by - almost next door - and served a very good breakfast. Location was very good. On the highway but not noisy. And a nice view of the river.

We didn't like the fact that there was no staff in the office. We don't have a cellphone and at arrival were not able to check our text messages for info about our room. (what number, how to get in) When we rang the bell to get that information the connection was VERY BAD. There was a lot of "Can you repeat that" and "I can't hear you". If we hadn't made reservations already this would have been a reason for us to look elsewhere for accomodation. After this not very promising start the motel was a pleasant surprise.

It was conveniently located and easy to find. The view out front of the water was pretty. They have chairs outside so you can relax. The key box retrieval was fun and the staff was super friendly and helpful when I didn’t receive my code to open the box. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

The room door and bathroom door was a little hard to close and you almost had to slam the front door to close it.

Location is great for dipping through NW Ontario. Clean, easily accessible rooms. Friendly staff, lots of small amenities for road travellers. Great place to get a good nights sleep or two.

The single set of curtains. Add a light filtering curtain to the room windows and it would instantly improve the privacy and make the rooms more enjoyable while getting ready in the morning. Cheap but impactful change.

Loved the accommodations & location. Especially loved walking my dog in the early morning directly across the road and all along the path around Rainy Lake. Very calming. Bed very comfy. Room pretty clean and so comfy. Everything I needed was available. Loved the bistro table set, so handy.

I'm a coffee lover but do not like keurig coffee makers nor powdered cream in my coffee. But that's just a personal thing.

Location, cleanliness, good A/C.

only interaction with staff was a text exchange regarding check-in and other stuff you learn at a traditional front desk. I asked a staff member on the parking lot about a laundromat and was told they closed within the hour. They never mentioned another option a little further away that was open much later. The room is tiny with no comfortable chair. When you sat on the toilet, the edge of the sink was in your face and your legs were under the sink. No flat space to put your stuff.

This is an attractive, well decorated, clean and comfortable unit, that comes with refrigerator and microwave--always so convenient to have those. No breakfast but high quality Keurig pods. Location across street from river is fantastic.

Check-in was a little bumpy. No one was in the office and they were supposed to have texted me check-in instructions. I didn't get any instructions because for some reason Booking.com hadn't provided them my credit card info. It was a very hot day and I stood outside calling the number on the door. First call went unanswered; second was picked up. Perhaps a text saying we don't have your credit card info, so please submit it would have made the process smoother. But otherwise a great stay and I'd come back again.

We have stayed here before so I can say this property is consistently EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN and well maintained!

It’s an older building so it is a bit shy on the sound proofing. I have hearing loss and wear hearing aids during the day. However at 1:30 am I could hear someone snoring in the room next to us.

Wonderful experience. Greeted by text moments after we booked the room we were given contactless instructions and an upgraded room that surpassed our expectations. It was spacious and had a wonderful view of the lake. It met my ALL my 5 C’s; clean, comfortable, convenient, cost effective (great value) and customer service plus a bonus C of charming. The linens were good quality and the lighting was especially thought out. Shower was good water pressure. - there was also wonderful diner/ restaurant next door.

Nothing bad to say

We stayed there on our way to Nova Scotia, and on our way back. The first visit, I was ill, trying to get over food poisoning. My husband asked to buy a pillow for me for in the car and was given one for free that a previous person left behind. The staffer said it had been washed and the owner hadn't asked for it back. We were most impressed.

the staff were most accommodating and understanding with my needs. I loved the location. it was close to the water and I loved the walkway along the water. There was a restaurant close enough to walk to. The room was comfortable. I had no problem sleeping although the motel is close to the road. I would stay there again.
