Sandman Hotel Quesnel

The room was clean and comfortable, for the most part. The pool and hot tub were open and enjoyable. There was a handy restaurant attached to the hotel.

All of the pillows in our room were very big and I could not get comfortable enough to sleep. At midnight, I finally went down to the front desk to ask for a smaller pillow and was told they didn't have any. I had to go out to my car and get a camping pillow and sleeping bag to out under it. The next morning as we checked out I mentioned this to the front desk person and she said that they actually did have flatter pillows.

We chose this hotel because of the proximity of EV charging stations in the supermarket parking right behind. However, it turns out there are plug-ins in the hotel parking lot itself, presumably for block heaters in winter. We used one to charge our car overnight. Could hardly be more convenient. Plus Denny’s is attached to the hotel for reasonable dinner and breakfast.

We were in Quesnel during a heatwave. The AC in our room was not working. The hotel was full the first night and the staff really tried hard to fix it and also lent us a fan which helped greatly and got us through the night. Next morning they very quickly cleaned and prepared a nearby room for us to transfer into. AC worked fine and we kept the fan too! On check out the receptionist gave us a decent rebate for our first night without us having to ask. She also kept our freezie pack in the staff room freezer as it wouldn’t fit in the fridge in the room. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and the AC problem was not their fault - these things happen and they dealt with it really well.

Very nice staff, we booked for 2 nights but had to leave after 1 night for an emergency and they did not charge the 2nd night very nice of them. There are still good people in this world. And it was nice to have Denny's restaurant attached to it, I did not have to go outside in the cold for breakfast

Location was excellent, and it was very convenient to have a restaurant right downstairs. My kids really enjoyed the pool and the beds were so comfortable. The perfect stop after a long day of driving!

When I booked it didn't say anywhere that there was a deposit required, so I was unprepared for that when we checked in.

There was a conflict with my booking, and they charged me the full price when I got a deal from booking.com, but everything got sorted out immediately. Friendly staff and very accommodating. I just don't like the sweat smell from the pillow or bed, but other than that, it's an excellent hotel to stay in.

we had a scary medical incident well there and the staff on shift at the time were AMAZING and the staff that came on next were obviously briefed good on what had happened and were also very good and caring , going the extra mile .

The lady at the desk sent us away saying that there were no rooms. We went outside and booked it online and then returned to the front desk where she grudgingly gave us a room. She was not polite to us.

Service began before we arrived. I called ahead to see if the room we booked had a fridge as we had to store insulin. The agent on the phone was very helpful and pleasant. She arranged for a fridge to be brought in and said she would be there when we checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. My kids decided to join the trip last minute so once we arrived, I had to book another room. The agent was again very helpful and pleasant. She was able to secure us a room for the same great price we got on booking.com. The beds are comfortable, the coffee is amazing and the staff ( literally everyone you speak to here ) are all super friendly. Every store you could possibly need is within walking distance. This is where I will be staying for any future trips to Quesnel.

This is no reflection on the hotel, however, there are signs posted in multiple places that masks are mandatory yet there were many people walking around without them. We even encountered a man exiting the elevator ( non masked ), realizing he was on the wrong floor, then entering the elevator again with us in it. We understand that Covid rules are tough to get used to but every person has the responsibility to do their part in staying safe and keeping others as safe as possible. We don’t have Covid police ( yet ) so it’s vital that we police ourselves.

Super convenient location. Friendly & accommodating staff. Restaurant attached was a plus.

There's not much for soundproofing and the beds were a bit too soft for my personal comfort.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. I was able to have a later check out with support and kindness. The location brought a secure feeling as well the hotel had all conveniences in close proximity. The pool and hot tub was an added benefit.
