Sunset Motel

Though it is an old motel the rooms have been recently updated and everything is very nice inside.

I arrived about one week after the significant floods in May 2023 which impacted many areas close by in the main streets. As a result it was difficult to find somewhere to eat as all the restaurants were closed as was the grocery store (for management reasons?). the only place to eat was the A&W store at one gas station - better than nothing!

This "Tiny House" style motel is a hidden gem. The owner was delightful, friendly and takes great pride in his establishment. The room was spotless. It was the BEST sleep in our 4 days of travelling on brand new pillow top mattresses, excellent bedding, with extra bedding provided; warm duvets that my 87 year old mom appreciated, ROKU TV, lovely decor; new distressed wood furniture, new lamps, microwave, fridge, new small desk with chair, Keurig coffee machine, real cups, and even wine glasses. This small but exceptionally well appointed motel room set against a sage Foot Hill and a block off the noisy highway, with a covered BBQ picnic area and gas Bbq beside the office is a hidden gem. Don't let the small size deter you. It was the best stay we had in our first 4 days of travel. It far exceeded my booking expectations!!! I will stay there every time I travel that direction. Great "little" find and gem of a place to stay.

Bathroom is very tiny, but well curated for the space. Excellent shower head, new shower curtain and mat, lovely smelling towels. Shampoo, soap, etc all provided. Those smelled great too.

Cute, quiet, very clean, and had all the conveniences like guest Netflix and little kitchenette in our quaint little corner room. The queen bed was very comfy and the linens were high quality. The room was very small but had everything you need. Excellent value for the price. Very safe and nicely nestled against the hills away from traffic. The place was very charming! Very polite and helpful front desk.

I arrived later in the evening and still had no problems booking in. The room was small and comfortable. The internet service was excellent and better than at some larger facilities in big cities. The USB and AC plug-in bar by the bed was a great feature.

I had to park further away from my room than I would of liked as there is no numbered parking spaces. The wiring for the desk area looked a bit sketchy but seemed to be safe when examined closer.

Freshly renovated facilities. Great fast WiFi. A block off the road keeps traffic noise down but it’s still easy to find. Staff was friendly and had neat local knowledge. across the street from a store. AC worked great.

The bathroom was rather cramped, but it didn’t bother me at all.

It was quiet and conveniently located near the main road. It was also newly updated and absolutely spotless inside.

The polyester sheets were a little uncomfortable, particularly as I’m a hot sleeper, and the bed blocked the AC circulation which made the room a bit warm.

Kitchenette with dishes and cutlery, fridge and microwave, complimentary coffee and tea with coffee maker. The manager accommodated our slightly late arrival providing instructions on how to access our room key after the office closed at 10 p.m.

No ice machine available.

The room had everything we could imagine needing. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate and every utensil necessary to make a meal 😋. So clean that there wasn't even any dust on the front sidewalk!

The rooms might be a little small for some people, but it was fine for us.

Convenient near the highway on our way to Kamloops. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Smart tv was great to have free Netflix and access to log into other streaming services with our own account. The table and parking right outside our room was convenient - as was the grocery store across the road.

Didnt stay for breakfast...The location was very convenient and quiet...We liked the two bedside tables and the access to Netflix...

Only thing i can think of is the coffee shop across the street didnt open until 8... but not a big issue as we had to get out as early as possible and get on the road...Hopefully next time we wont have to leave as early...
