Hotel Hayat

Perfect location, a few minutes walking distance from Bascarsija and the City Hall Vijećnica! Very kind, welcoming and helpful personnel! There is always someone at the reception desk. Calm surroundings and very beautiful view from the rooms. The access to parking spots in front of the hotel was of a great use!

It will be nice and more comfortable if a few hangers for the towels are placed in the bathroom. Barriers can be placed around the shower in the bathroom because the water comes out and the whole bathroom gets wet.

Good location, basically in the old town but down a side street so it is a quieter area. Shops and many tourist locations in walking distance. Staff were always friendly and welcoming, they were helpful to answer questions and to print off some tickets I needed printing.

Since the room was on the top floor the ceiling was slated and low in parts which meant standing in the shower was difficult (similarly you don't stand up to get off the toilet, you do an awkward low walk).

The price was of good value, and the staff where very helpful, this was only a three night stay for us, and the hotel was just a base to rest our weary heads of an evening, so wasn't expecting much. With regards to sightseeing the hotel was in a good position to the old town, just down the hill and your in the heart of all the small market shops, note, I say down the hill, so bear in mind what goes down has to come up, and if you've tasted the local Raki, getting up the hill can be a little problematic, in saying that it was easy to find. All in all, basic, comfortable accommodation, good price, and excellent staff.

The hotel catered for breakfast for larger parties, but this is not extended to smaller groups of travellers, which is a shame because if your sightseeing, having a nice early breakfast kind of sets you up for the day. and the facilities are there to do so, but as you are quite well placed location wise, there are plenty of small cafes that serve a really nice breakfast.

Hotel Hayat fully lived up to our expectations as guests in Sarajevo. My mother and I stayed in a spacious room on the second floor with a nice view of the higher parts of the city and the green scenery sorrounding it. The room, bathroom as well as the bed and bed sheets were clean. The bed was also large and comfortable- perfect for two people. The staff were incredibly service minded and accomodating. They always made sure that we had clean towels, toilet paper and even a praying mat. Especially Kenan and Malik, were so welcoming and helpful. From needing help with activating a BiH-sim card to general inquiries about the city, they would offer their help with a smile. The hotel's location is just perfect with only 300 m from the Old Town. The rest of the important Sarajevo attractions are also in close proximity to the hotel. My mother and I walked to almost all of the attractions, and still had residual energy to walk up to the Yellow Fortress (stunning view over Sarajevo), which is only 500 m away from the hotel. We will for sure stay at Hotel Hayat on our next Sarajevo-adventure. Kindest regards Zaïnab and Samira

Great hotel for a short-term stay. The location is excellent, the staff is friendly and ready to help anytime. The room was super clean, the bathroom on a smaller side but clean and functional. Do not forget to reserve a hotel parking spot in advance, it's almost impossible to find parking in the city center.

The beds can be a little more comfortable, the mattresses are soft and the pillows are way too large.

It was the best price I could find in Sarajevo. They did a 7am check-in for free and I was able to rest. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The ceiling of the bathroom was very low because of the attic, but you have to remember that you paid very little money.

The location! It was really super close to the old city, really warm-welcomed stuff. They allow me to check-in early but in another room that I booked. There wasn’t a work space but they allow me to join for my work call from Conference hall.

Brilliant location, very short walk into old town and about 5-10 mins for Latin bridge and Eternal flame.

WiFi signal was weak in the bedroom

Would like to mention staff member Dean (Dejan) in particular. He really made our stay memorable and comfortable. Thank you so much, we won’t ever forget you! He is really an asset to this hotel, and shines above the rest. His English skills are impeccable, he is professional, hard-working and always friendly and smiling. He also helped us to change rooms without hesitation and guided us well throughout our stay.

Hotel itself is a little outdated and needs modernising for the prices they are charging. However, the location is good as it’s walking distance to the Srbije and the old town. Prices are too high/greedy for the room, didn’t really feel it was terribly good value for money. Breakfast is not included which I feel is a shame but I guess this is just down to management problem. There isn’t a lift, it didn’t affect us as we are young and able bodied but I can imagine it would be a struggle for those having to climb to the very top floors.

Toilete was not very clean, there were some dirty dots on the sink; there is no hair dryer and some of the electrical outlets were not working, during our stay there were no cleaning ladies
