Grand Caribe Belize

We're family of 6, so it was actually cost effective to book one of the two story condos with 5 beds. We felt comfortable and not crowded the whole week (3 bathrooms!) The view is awesome and it feels like our every need was met. We're a complicated group, so this is no small feat: 2 teenagers, 2 six year olds (one autistic), and 2 adults. The pool here had plenty of areas where the 6 year olds could stand up in the water, which is critical for my non-swimmer who has a phobia of most water. He was so happy. The pools were all similarly awesome for us bigger people. We borrowed some of the free stand-up paddleboards to go out on the ocean, and booked boating excursions through the hotel. The bar/room service menu is price-comparable to all the breakfasts we had elsewhere. The lovely housekeepers will do your laundry and return it folded if you leave it in the basket. This place is one of the few hotels on earth I'd go back to rather than trying another if I'm back in the same area.

Anything I'm mentioning here is just absolutely nitpicking- there was nothing worth talking about that we didn't love. The poolside bar food and drink service (they also do the room service delivery) was slow, but we got used to it. We got a crazy crazy rain storm one morning and the seal in the master bedroom patio door was leaking a bit (we reported this). And Rain and Aqua, the two restaurants, aren't cheap but you don't have to eat there whenever you don't want to, and they're amazing when you do. I didn't love paying for bottles of water all the time (the tap is overly chlorinated), and would love if those were included. But seriously, this place is amazing.

This resort was breathtaking. Every detail has been thought out by the owners and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay as seemless and comfortable as possible. We rented a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom villa on the property that was perfefor our guests! The swimup pool bar as well as the countelss pools throughout the property were relaxing. In terms of transportation, Brandon attended to all of our traveling needs! Please ask for him! He is a driver at the hotel! Brandon is personable, knowledgeable, and made sure we came back safely after nights out in town!

Everything was perfect!

The resort was new and very nice. Multiple pools, beach with paddle boards and kayaks. Staff was extremely nice. Location was great, north of town but not too far with many restaurants and bars nearby. Room was large and kept clean. Laundry service was available. Swim up bar with food service was great! They booked our excursion to the Blue Hole for us which was really convenient.

The beach area is nice but the sea grass is right up to the beach. They try to keep it back but it is nearly impossible. So swimming in the ocean from the beach isn't really enticing. We did take a kayak out to snorkel on the reef which was great.

Everything about our stay at the Grand Caribe was excellent! All staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Our 2 BR/2BA oceanfront condo was very well equipped and comfortable. Housekeepers even did our laundry! That was a unexpected benefit. I want to give a special shout out to the staff of the concierge office (Amy and Ashti) for all their help with arranging activities. I have been recommending this resort to anyone that is thinking about visiting Belize.

My traveling companion has mobility concerns. More handrails on the stairs going into the condo and stairs at the pools would be very helpful.

The staff was super kind, understanding and accommodating. From the beginning welcome drink (yum) to the checkout process (everything gets charged to the room so its smooth and easy). The grounds are beautiful with lots of room to roam, chill and eat. You can find things to do like bean bag toss, paddle boarding and kayaking at no extra cost. You can relax by the pool without a crowd most of the time and there are more than enough servers to ensure you stay well-fed with tasty snacks and refreshed with fruity drinks! The smoothies were specialties! The rooms are fully equipped, spacious and well laid out for an extra comfortable stay. The restaurants have great food, great service and lovely ambiance! The gym is a good size and has all you need for a good workout. Honestly, the entire experience was superb. It's in a nice location that is quiet but close to the fun if you want some excitement. And I cannot say enough about the staff! Luce, Julia and everyone was amazing! I will definitely be back!

I didnt like the lock on the door. It's a regular lock so I had to manipulate the lock to open and close with the key. That was a non-issue. I also didn't like that there was no place for my soap/body wash in the shower...or gook for my towel outside the shower. Very small thing that did not take away from the luxury jacuzzi tub, and very spacious rain shower with the built-in seating!!!

Best pools around. Kayaks and floaties for pool are included. Apartment was very nice. Nicely decorated. It was cleaned everyday. I would recommend to friends.

WiFi was a bit spotty. I would say you want to have a golf cart. They have couple nice restaurants. But it would be pricey to eat there every night. There are huge selection of restaurants near by and stores too but golf cart is needed to get to them. Golf cart is fun too. Just need to rent it in advance since they might run out of them.

great location approximately 2 miles from San Pedro. Good view of the ocean.

If you are looking to swim in the ocean there is not much opportunity as the beach area is shallow. Secret Beach is a great place to swim but is a $50.00 cab ride each way. The pool area os nice and overlooks the ocean.

We didn't sign up for the all inclusive breakfast. But when we did get breakfast at the property the portions were so large we could barely finish them. And the breakfasts were delicious

The private beach was mostly a barrier wall. There was about a 150 yard segment where the sand approached met the water. However, they had a barrier net about 20 yards from the shore to prevent the seaweed from washing up. So I would say the private beach and access to the water was a disappointment.

The apartment was great, clean, comfortable (but no elevator), with everything you can need. The staff is nice and friendly.

My expectation was to have a big Carebian beach with white sand to swimming right in front of the hotel. However, no beach at the hotel location, the best beach is 30 min. away driving a golf cart over a bumpy trail. That is Secret Beach, when you arrive there you find white beaches, restaurants serving food on tables on the water, every you dream as a Carebian vacation day. I recommend Blue Bayou, good service, friendly and kind people, and decent food. Another advantage of San Pedro Island is the proximity to the coral rift, the snorkeling excursion is the best I ever did, and our guide was the best, he knew how to find, manatees, sharks, turtles, stingrays, seahorse...
