Hotel Ter Elst

Very spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late at night (10pm) but the reception also acts as bar open until midnight which was very welcome. The reception/seating area was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable (although pillow too thick for me) The breakfast is served by a shop within the hotel, mostly continental breakfast options with limited cooked option (eggs, bacon)- but the quality is excellent (e.g. jams, peanut butter) often from small independent producers-a nice touch. Many are for sale within the shop itself to take away as well. really enjoyed our stay

Pillow was too thick for me (but a very personal choice) but the bed was really comfortable itself.

The room was very spacious, as well as the private bathroom which was very pleasant to take a shower or relax in a bath. Everything was super clean. The bed was comfortable. We made ourselves tea in the room and there is a mini fridge. the staff was very cordial and helpful. There is enough desk space to set up your laptop. It was very quiet, the ideal place for visiting Antwerp without driving into the city. Antwerp city is very easily reached (we drove to Hove station and took the train, as we didn't want to pay €35 for the Low Emission Zone ticket and parking in Antwerp centre. Just 3 stops on the train)

There was nothing we didn't like

Room was very sterile, but that is kinda what you expect from a business hotel. Breakfast was basic, but more than satisfactory Staff was more than helpful and very kind.

Airconditioning in the room was not working properly. Heating function was supposed to work, but unfortunately didn't even after calling the desk a few times. Eventually we got it to work after restarting 5-6 times. In their defence they did offer me a different room, but I just didn't want to bother them too much.

- Cleaner coming in to the room twice in the morning. ( at 9am and after 10am) First time she knocked on the door, we responded but she still opened the door. Second time she didn’t even bother to knock on the door, just opened it. - Uncomfortable pillows. - A lot of unnecessary emails, Whatsapp notifications and booking.com messages

The jaccuzi and the spacious room. The bed was comfortable to.

We applied at booking for lactose intolerant for the breakfast. We repeated this at checkin. When we ask about it when we were about to get breakfast; they looked weird at us. 15 min later someone came to tell us the crackers where lactose free. 20 euro pp and we can only eat crackers with jam. Even for non vegans/lactose intolerant people the breakfast is dull and not much choice. 20 euro is outrageous! And checkout they even didn't ask how our stay was. We would advice not to take breakfast at this hotel...

Location remote but ok for car drivers. Parking good in a well lit car park. Rooms spacious and clean. Very comfortable beds.

Breakfast was only just sufficient. Food and utensils not replenished unless you asked. Limited choice. Price for breakfast certainly did not match what was offered.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast room was facing the outer space. The personnel was kind and willing to help.

The pillows were very thick for me. For 20€ p.p. I would expect a bigger variety in breakfast. It is a long distance from Antwerp center by bus but ok by car.

its cozy, and clean, with huge rooms, a big bathroom, clean and comfort

poor breakfast, no vegetables, cappuccino not included. not many choices. basically no vegetables. the mattress is a bit soft

The staff was friendly and professional. They took the time to answer the few questions I had concerning the regulations around Covid, since the Belgian regulations changed a few days before and I didn't know hoe exactly.

The bath stop apparently was broken. This made it a hassle to let the bath tub drain.
