Hotel Royal Astrid

This is a lovely hotel, well-appointed and nicely decorated. Our room was large, with a decent-sized bathroom and a good shower. The bed was a good size, and comfortable. A Dyson fan was provided, which was much needed! The breakfast was small but excellent quality - the scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had! The staff were lovely and helpful, and I would definitely stay there again.

It would have been useful to have been provided with directions to the close-by car park (and directions on walking from car park to hotel) before we arrived, as we ended up driving around, and then wandering, in the heat for quite a while. But overall, I have no criticisms of this lovely place.

The hotel is centrally located. The room is of sufficient size, modern and newly refurbished. Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. Possibility to park the car behind the hotel in a public parking lot where there is no charge from 07.00 PM to 09.00 AM, thereafter € 1.- / hour with a maximum of € 4.- / day. Many restaurants nearby or within 10 minutes walking distance in the central square of Aalst. The breakfast buffet is well garnished with hot and cold breakfast items.

Hard to find any problematic points. There was a problem with flushing the toilet, as it took 20 minutes to fill the tank. The ventilation in the bathroom was too weak. These problems can easily be solved.

Location. It's location was perfect for us. In the nice city center area. Parking. I will suggest that hotel sends the instruction / location of the parking to the customers before hand. There is a good parking at low price just in the backyard of the hotel. And Nadia in the reception is very nice lady with a kind smile, always!

Price and quality doesnt quite match. I will not book the "budget room" next time. It was really designed to make you sure you've got what you'd booked. Rooms are almost "sad". Rooms facing the street are noisy. Or aybe because our window could not close tightly. Nadia had warned me about the noise, and I should better had listened to her advice. Does the power outlets go off when you turn the light off? Or was it just my charger? It's not funny with a discharged phone in the morning. A bottle of water doesn't cost that much, but it's good to have it when you just arrive to the room until you can find your way.

This hotel's decor is stylish and comfortable. Very comfortable bed/sheets, updated bathrooms with nice shower head and hand held shower option, desk, ample closet space and lovely breakfast room. The couple running the hotel are very experienced and friendly, willing to help in any way they can. Nice touch to put a sign on the door as you check in that the room passed inspection and an honor-bar to get what you want as you need it during these strange Covid times. Thank you!

A more comfortable desk chair - we business travellers spend a fair amount of time on them!

It was a lovely place run by a lovely couple. The facilities service and overall experience was excellent

The locker in our room was not functional and the breakfast options were limited. But those are very small points

I very much enjoyed my stay and totally recommend this hotel. The lady on reception when I checked in was extremely friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable with excellent wifi (which is not always a given in hotels). I was also very impressed with the hotels idea of an 'honesty bar' where you could take a drink and simply declare it and pay for it later. As I was leaving quite early the hotel also provided me with a breakfast pack to take with me which was really tasty, generously portioned and vegetarian, as I had requested :-)

it is a really very nice hotel with an excellent restaurant. came as a surprise to us. the setting is excellent and the food is outstanding.

Family room big and comfortable, good breakfast, close to city centre and to a large parking. Hotel with possibility to eat in the internal restaurant (not tested)

great location, just a few steps into the center of the city , nice rooms and decorations, well equipped and modern

missed a good coffee at the breakfast, otherwise we had a great stay

Not quite a dislike but good to know there is a airconditioning in the room. I only found it out the next morning.
