Hotel Mercure Wien City

The location and room are perfect. We got a quiet room as we wanted and we really slept like babies. It's close to the city center so we didn't use a car the whole 5 days we were in Vienna.

The parking fee was kinda a lot for a day. Also, there was annoying staff in the breakfast area all the time asking us about 3G papers. I thought if you are in a hotel showing you have a test you are done. But not. Every day they want another proof. The excuse was that they are not the same company. Plus - they weren't wearing masks all of them. I know it's not their fault. But it was annoying. Also, breakfast itself was the same every single day. Which is kind of boring if you are staying 4 days like we did.

Breakfast was great! They had great variety! The staff at the breakfast were very polite! Although I missed some sunny side up eggs! The best thing about our stay is that our room was ready since the morning and we didn't have to wait until 3 pm! They have fulfilled our requirement for an early check-in. The hotel was very close to the airport and to the city Centre. Very easy access with tram and underground!

The bathroom door wouldn't close properly. We were given a room outside of the office and the staff were quite noisy. The cleaning ladies came into the room twice, while we were inside.

Breakfast was better than expected with hot and cold items, fresh fruits, and even cakes. Having only 1 coffee machine though meant really long waits. King-size bed was comfortable. Liked having kettle in our room and Fruit Selection tea supplied was excellent.

Bathroom was very small and soap bottle screwed into wall located in bathtub, so very difficult to reach to wash hands w/o water on the floor. Didn’t like having bathtub. Would prefer shower only like other Mercure hotels offer. Also, would have been nice to have some body lotion and free minibar drinks supplied as in other Mercure Hotels.

Great hotel with very friendly staff. Very well located and only 15 mins from the many touristic attractions. It was our anniversary and they decorated the room with some flowers, confetti and a box of chocolate. Really nice touch. The room was well-cleaned every day.

The breakfast could have been offering a few new things as after a few days it was getting boring. The last night it was getting cold and the hotel had the heating on which was not controlled from the bedroom. it was too hot and made it difficult to fall asleep. we had to open the windows.

On check in the kind pleasant lady brought us teabags and milk in carton to our room once we enquired bout it. We got fresh bottle of water every morning. The breakfast is amazing, the best I have seen. Room was warm, quiet despite the renovation which did not interfere with our stay. Location is good, easy to access points of interest by foot. Reception staff were always very helpful, we stayed four nights. Highly recommend this hotel.

There isn't anything that I didn't like to be honest

It was a nice hotel close to everything yet away from the crowd. I enjoyed that in a walking distance I could be in Schwedenplatz with all the stores and the tram and metro stations while when it is time to sleep we are away from the noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but nothing special, maybe next time without breakfast is my choice. the room service was good and when they found that I have toys for the kids, we came to find the dolls are on the bed as a part of the room decore or as the toys were having a party there :).

First of all I liked the location. Very close (10 min walk) to Stefan’s Platz and 20 min walk to Prater. The metro is also very close by, about 6 min walk. Despite its closeness to so many popular and usually crowded areas, the hotel is actually in a very quite area, so you can easily relax after exploring all day. The hotel is very clean with a great bad and pillows. The breakfast was really good,, tasty and diversified.

The staff from the reception could be a little more communicative. We did not like the fact that at check-in we weren’t told anything about the time frame for breakfast or any other info regarding how to get around.

Clean friendly staff

Bar service and choice poor one night had to wait half an hour while checking in guests we gave up and went out . Restaurant opens at 06-00 but staff and kitchen not ready no bacon, sausage , and eggs late in fact very slow in putting food out on time ,so made do with bread and basic cheese others put out later when it was time for us to leave at 06-45 come on Mr Manager if your restaurant opens at 06-00 make sure the staff are up to it , sorry but very poor .

The location was great and all the staff were friendly. it really is just a 10 mins walk from the Cathedral so you have everything nearby. Breakfast was good and with a lot of choices.

The heating is centrally managed and it can get too hot. We had taken winter PJs and ended up sleeping in T-shirts and with a bit of the aircon on so not the most environmentally friendly solution.

The room is clean and large, with enormous bed (I booked the single room!!!!), teapot and tea/ coffee, small refrigerator, shampoo & soap.... The room was quite. Overall- the hotel is very quite, including the rooms and the recreation areas. The breakfast is very good- big choice of tasty fresh food, breads, fruits and deserts, fresh coffee, nice staff. The location is great- less the 10 minutes walking to the inner city- just across the canal, few supermarkets near and nice food quarter (with great pizza!) few minutes away. I like to enjoy relaxing evening near the hotel- The local bar across the street with great beer, quite atmosphere and nice owner. Cool bar by the river. And across the canal- all the tourist' night life with bars, cafes & ect. Price is very reasonable for the experience I had- great value for money. It is the third time I stay in Mercure hotels (in different countries)- always enjoy my stay: relaxing stay without warries, no broken / old facilities or problems of some kind- all new and modern.

I can't point on something- I haven't noticed anything that I would think needs an improvement.
