Hotel Donauhof

The bathroom was especially nice - new, high quality and spotless. The beds were also very comfortable. Fresh honey during the breakfast buffet was a real treat.

Unfortunately some of the staff were a little rude right from the moment of arrival and this gave us a bit of a disappointed feeling as we checked in. There was no one at reception and after ringing the bell twice and getting the attention of a member of staff we were simply instructed to „Wart/wait“. This was not a language issue as German was used. I had the feeling that we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests, especially after we declined to book a table at the restaurant for dinner. When we asked to pay for the local tax by card it was met with a look of annoyance. We also had to wait almost 15 minutes to check out as there was no one at reception again.

We had a very nice one night stay at the hotel. It is conveniently located right off the road. We got there kind of late but they were still there to check us in. We awoke early the next morning and took a walk to/thru the small town and along the river where we viewed the abbey we had visited the day before. The church bells rang. We returned to the hotel for a delicious breakfast.

bed has vibration massage mattress, bathroom has bathtub and music player. staff were friendly , place was clean

the lady boss, a little rude and grumpy most of the time except when we told her we will hv dinner & breakfast at the hotel restaurant and when we were checking out. no air conditioning (they claim it’s built into the ceiling though we found no vents)

Family hotel. Very spaciois room with extra bed, modern furniture, big bathroom, good breakfast, convinient location near enough A1 junction, across Danube river. .

Glass bathroom door, a bit strange. To me, a bit too high price, but everything else was not available.

Room was oriented to Danube and Melk cathedral, with balcony

Hotel is located neareby local noisy route. Absence of aircondition is giving you two chances: sleep with ear protection in acceptable temperature or quite and hot and sweaty.

for the "Baldachin" above the garden should be found another solution. it feels somehow to deeply , killing the atmosphere. I would also suggest to close the kitchen a bit later,

Adequately sized room, quite a good breakfast. Fair location not far from river.

No coffee maker or safe in room, from memory. There are no shops nearby - ok if you have a car and can drive a few km into Melk.

the owner Elvina has been more than gracious and helpful in every way. She makes everything perfect and welcomed. Great Job, theDonauhof team !

Amazing hotel. Nice and helpfull staff. The family dog hanging aroud the hotel is a charming touch. The room was 100%. Massage bed in every room. Great location right on the Danube. Free parking.

Right outside to ferry stop and bus stop. Great refurbished room.....nice and quiet.... Had dinner in hotel. Great Vienna Schnitzel!
