Parkview Motor Inn and Apartments

You never know what to expect from a motel, but Parkview far exceeded what I was expecting. The rooms are a little dated, but they are spacious, fully stocked with what you need, and clean. My room overlooked the park which was a beautiful view. There were multiple built in desk spaces that made it easy to get my work done. The motel is located central and walking distance to anywhere downtown. I didn’t arrive until late, but the team was friendly and made it very easy for me to get access to my room. Great value!

Wifi isn’t the strongest

Affordable room for a family of 5…. This is unheard of normally. Everything is normally catered for a family of 4

When I booked the room, a diagram showed the bed configurations as a double/queen and 3 singles…. I deliberately chose this because I have 3 girls - a 9 year old and twin 7 year olds - in the past theirs arguments about who is sleeping with who etc so I was happy I might avoid it. This was not the case in my room - we had double/queen and another double/queen and fold out bed… I ended up having to sleep one on the couch. No biggy though.

The motel's location is quite convenient -- a short drive to the commercial centre but there are restaurants and cafés in easy walking distance. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was very clean, quiet and spacious, with comfortable furniture and good lighting. There was a lovely view over the park. The bathroom was compact but perfectly adequate.

The wifi, which had been working perfectly, suddenly stopped working at about 7.15 p.m. We brought this to the receptionist's attention, but the problem was not fixed. The wifi was still not working the following morning.

The very best part of our room was the lovely big window with a view of the park. The location on the edge of town was excellent and although an older style motel every effort has been made to make it comfortable.

We had intended to have a BBQ one night, but we found the location of the BBQ quite awkward. We felt that juggling plates of food so close to the edge of the pool could be difficult for us. While the room was a good size, the bathroom was cramped and reflected the age of the motel.

We had a second storey room which overlooked the park, and even though it was winter, the gum trees and creek made a pleasant and peaceful environment. The room design was efficient and practical with a bright bathroom and a good set-out for the kitchenette. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a quiet reverse cycle air conditioner. Another positive feature was that the parking bays were wider than most shopping centres. This made it easier and safer to park with so many guests now having larger SUVs.⁸

Booked a stay here very last minute due to travelling for work, managed to get a family room for myself, partner and 11 month old baby. I had just completed a nightshift and had planned to travel home however we ended up staying in Wangaratta an extra night. Lovely and clean. Beds very comfortable. We ended up placing beds together for baby and us (sorry for any mess) and the stay was perfect. We all slept soundly. Love the little shop in reception where we grabbed some snacks for breakfast which saved us having to head back out to shops, we also got a menu log, watched tv and had an early night. Fantastic stay!! The lady who checked us in was beautiful and I believe would have done anything for the guests if needed!

That we only stayed one night. We will be back to enjoy the town another time!

This was a really pleasant surprise - what a find. An older-style motor inn, but some good refurbishments have been done. We stayed in an apartment so we could self-cater and it was very spacious and exceptionally comfortable, lots of space to spread out and a quiet bedroom away from the road. The kitchen was well equipped and the staff very friendly and helpful. Being able to select and purchase your own breakfast ingredients is a grea idea. Shops etc are just a short walk away and it was excellent value for money. We would definitely stay here again.

The Parkview Motel and Apartments has everything you need for an overnight stay. The ground floor room was very quiet and clean, and has a pleasant view overlooking the park, a small sofa, tv and a kitchenette with the basic essentials. The room has excellent block out curtains and the bed was extremely comfortable. The very hot water in the shower was a bonus. The location is very good, with a short walk to restaurants, supermarkets and shops. I would stay again.

There was nothing that I did not like.

The room was large and very comfortable, with a great view over the park and windows I could open so I could have fresh air. The air conditioner worked very well and the kitchen equipment was very useful.

I would've preferred to be on the ground floor, but then perhaps I wouldn't have had such a good view! Some of the kitchen equipment was on a very high shelf which I had to use a chair to reach, although I am of average height. This is not safe.

The motor inn catered to our particular needs very well: it provided comfortable, peaceful accommodation for our stop-over on the way to Melbourne with a pretty view of the park. The TV was great! The room was well-supplied in the mini-kitchen and we had a little table and chairs at which to eat our take-away.
