Regal Port Douglas

We had been guests at the Regal before and really liked the location The rooms were spacious and clean and we were able to make ourselves at home It was great to have a washing machine and drier, and the spa was relaxing Great pool, clean and refreshing. The fresh linen and towel change was lovely Kim was very welcoming and made us feel liked valued guests

I guess the stairs to get to our Rm 31…but maybe we need to be a bit fitter! Both of our bedside lamps/ lights flickered a lot. , so we used main lights The air conditioner smelt a bit like urine sometimes when we turned it on , the digital display indicated that the filter was due for change. We just opened the balcony windows and used fans and we were comfortable.

Room was Massive was super happy! Loved the Hot Tub, Highly Recommend. Used it alot and decided i need one at home now lol Bedding all clean bathroom great! Location is TOP NOTCH! Literally off the main strip, so quiet but just walk to all the shops and restaurants, supermarket.

The pool looked a little dirty but i do understand the wet season with high humitiy had just passed, Was free of debrie etc just some moss trying to grow along bottom and in the fountains on the buildings was all green which is the same as the pool water. But im sure that will be cleaned with the weather becoming managable! Also had to use the toaster by the door in fear of setting the fire alarm off lol as there was no stove fan.

Beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean, friendly, warm, welcoming staff with extra care and attention, up to date room eith all you could want, quailty house pack included and plenty of towels, and the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in with the best customer service. We loved the quality spa bath in our spa studio room, a beautiful large deck area too! Lovely pool and layout, enjoyed an evening swim it was pretty and warm! Room was very private and comfortable and the hotel is right in the centre of town, perfect location and undercover parking. If I could give 10 stars I would. Definitely choose the Regal Port Douglas, lovely couple Kim and James that will ensure you have a wonderful stay here.

The Location for Regal is excellent. Right in the middle of the main street and so close to shops. restaurants. We chose this location as we didn't need a car and it was perfect. Close to walk to the Marina, Beach, Coles and all that Port Douglas has to offer. The main big resorts are not close to the main hub so a car would be needed to go to the great restaurants in PD. We were there when it was 34 degrees and very high humidity. There are so many restaurants that are outside and fans only. We did struggle with the heat and found enclosed air conditioned restaurants hard to find excepting Rattle N Hum and a couple of others.

We had a Jacuzzi Room and for us was a waste as we didn't use it. The water was so hot we turned it off and as the climate is so humid, found being outside was not comfortable unless in the big pool. It was our choice with the room and not any fault of the hotel.

Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great pool/BBQ area, spacious apartment, close to town, quiet, washer and drier in apartment, private jacuzzi on balcony, great water pressure in shower, overall very pleasant and welcoming vibe.

Only way in is via stairs with no lift or wheelchair/pram access (although it seems most accommodation in Port Douglas has stair access only), bed wasn’t super comfortable - king bed was two king singles pushed together so there was a ridge down the middle.

Ideally situated for everything Port Douglas, just off Macrossan Street for all the shops/restaurants and 5 min walk to the 4 mile beach. Room was clean and in a nice quiet spot. Very spacious and spa bath a luxurious treat after our travels. Kym was so friendly and helpful. She organised our trip to the Barrier reef and we were happy to go along with her recommendation and the trip was just perfect, definitely a highlight of our hol! Thanks Kym.

Although equipped with kettle/ toaster, plates etc, there wasn’t a lot of room to use these facilities, but we managed…just a shame as the apartments are so huge, there could be a bit more surface space somewhere. This didn’t spoil our stay though, just thought it worth a mention.

Superb location and staff, especially James! --gorgeous pool and ambience. Possibly not suitable for persons with mobility problems who may find stairs and showers over spa baths challenging. Having said that, I would highly recommend this resort hotel and look forward to returning soon and recommending it to our friends. It exceeded my expectations. The customer focused staff made us feel very welcome and were most obliging.

All good from our point of view

I loved staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is beautiful. The room consisted of an interior bedroom and large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, and the huge patio contained a dining area, kitchen, and chaise lounges. The view from the room was stunning. The hotel was clean, and I loved that it had an icemaker. As for location, this is the perfect location for anyone wanting to explore Port Douglas, or as in our case, taking a snorkeling location. There were many great restaurants, shops, and a market within walking distance.

No elevator, which meant carrying bags up multiple flights of stairs.

The apartments are spacious and clean. Kim and James are extremely responsive to any requests.

The running water outside that drops from above the pool is very noisy and very pleased that it was turned off in the evening. The floor in our bedroom became v wet when the residents below had their air conditioning on a very low setting. This made the floor very slippery and also meant that the apartment smelt a bit damp all the time.

We spent a week at Regal and the accommodation was fabulous. Our spacious 1 bedroom apartment (23A) was on the upper level and had everything we needed - including our own spa bath in an enclosed private balcony overlooking the pool. It was clean, comfortable and the bed & pillows were great. It's also in an excellent (quiet) location just down from the main street and an easy stroll to the beach, marina, shops and restaurants. Owners Kim & James are teriffic hosts and also organised our transfers to and from Cairns. Great value and we will certainly stay at Regal again.

All fabulous - we had a wonderful time.
