La Costa Beachside Motel

Cute retro digs! Friendly staff with very effective communication and great availability. Easy to ride bikes make getting around so easy.

I loved the retro, low-key vibe (as opposed to the other multi-storey, generic, modern options available on the Gold Coast). The unit was clean, comfortable and everything you could want was included eg, good breakfast basket, beach towels, hair dryer etc. The location was great for me, being close to beach, airport, and an easy drive to shops and John Flynn Hospital, where I was visiting a friend. Though I had a rental car, they also had bicycles you could use which were free of charge. The staff were friendly and eager to please.

There was nothing I didn't like about it.

The entire site was beautifully clean and well kept, quaint and absolutely comfortable. A short walk to the beach, a longer walk if you want to swim or buy food but absolutely doable. The free bikes makes the distance much shorter. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful 1 day holiday.

The listing says private parking available. This was actually a key reason for us choosing this accommodation. The parking is street parking only, in a 4 hour area. Having said that we always got a park but having to make sure we got back to move our car after 4 hours was a bit restrictive. At first we were upset to find the listing was deceptive but it all worked out well and we loved our stay and would stay again.

The La costa is a beautiful motel which would have to be an icon of great times past. It has character and history that I hope is preserved. The staff are both very friendly and so helpful, I felt extremely privileged with how attentive and willing everyone was to help and make the stay enjoyable. The blending of today and yesteryear means there is a slight compromise but the facilities and services are excellent. Wish I had taken photos

This is tongue in cheek, but the bar snacks were far to tempting lol However they were reasonably priced so I don't feel as guilty haha

The Villa style accommodation had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The mini bar and extras that were available for purchase were priced as though you were at a supermarket, no overpriced mini bar! The breakfast was good and it was a charming place to stay

It was tricky to get to from the airport. It isn't far at all but the airport make it very tricky to get out by foot, there are several area's with no footpath. It really is such a short walk, just difficult. But if you rented a car, it's only a 2minute drive

La Costa Motel was the perfect place to stay for our last night in the Gold Coast being so close to the airport and a beautiful beach and a stone's throw from restaurants, walks and cafe's in Coolangatta. Di was warm and welcoming and very helpful - the free airport shuttle was so handy! We borrowed some lovely vintage style bikes and rode down to Coolangatta which is a must do if you are staying here. Rooms were thoughtfully decorated with the addition of beach towels for you to borrow and a free breakfast basket which is a lovely touch! Beds super comfy too, highly recommend!

La Costa is a perfect little stay for a family being only a 5-10 min walk from the airport. The rooms are very spacious and had plenty of room for our portacot. We were a 5 min walk to the Kirra Surf Club for lunch or dinner which was great. The beach was 1 min down the street which we could see from our rooms.

The location is great, but as there isn’t daylight savings in QLD it’s dark at 7pm and things are a bit of a walk. I would recommend having a car or transport if you have young children - our daughter is 8 months (Uber yo Coolangatta is only about $10 and 5 mins).

I liked the location, how clean and well appointed the room was. Not a spec of mould or discoloration in the bathroom. Loved the quality of the plates & glasses. Nice clean matching cutlery. Sufficient mini bar products. Appreciated the Conti breakfast - it was nice to have some fruit when we arrived late at night. Loved the fan and the air con. Check in was easy. Loved the basket with beach towels - we didn’t use them but thought it was really thoughtfully presented. Loved that the room had space for 3 people - perfect for our situation.

Each of us needed an extra pillow. Room was a little noisy as it was Number 3 - closest to GC Hwy

We had a 2 night stay while one family member went to John Flynn Hospital. The room, position, helpfullness of the hosts in all aspects were exceptional. Lovely quaint, comfortable room. So convenient to Kirra and North Kirra. Could walk for many coffee choices and surf club. The breakfast hamper was very appreciated to start the day. Lovely place and so close to the beach and airport (if you need to fly).

Street parking, but safe and quiet, and plenty of spaces.

Great shuttle service from the airport. Phone and they pick you up. At least during the day. Thoughtful breakfast items. Capsules for coffee. Quiet. Lovely decor. Scrupulously clean. Kind and obliging staff and owners. Such kindness is shown. Short walk to the sea. Bikes if wanted.Surf club with meals walkable. One feels right at home here. One of the only buildings with a bit of personality in an area otherwise full of dull cloned multi-storey atrocities. Such a gem. I hope they never sell out to developers. This slice of the historic GC should be preserved.

It can't be helped but there wasn't much around in terms of coffee shops or eateries.
