Kathys Place Bed and Breakfast

Kathy and Karl were wonderful hosts. They fed us when we arrived after all restaurants had closed and shared the washing machine and drying line with us when we arrived for our second visit. Breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed our conversations with both of them. The garden was beautiful. Kathy made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us a storage container for some cookies we were carrying with us for our trip to Devils Marbles. That container is now back here in Canada with us, and every time I use it, I will remember what a lovely stay we had here.

Nothing.

Kathy and Karl were wonderful hosts. They fed us when we arrived late enough that everything was closed, and on our return for a second night, let us do our laundry and hang it on the line. Kathy’s breakfasts were delicious and Karl’s gardens were beautiful. We stayed one night, drove north, and came back to stay a second time. It was like coming home!! We enjoyed our conversations, appreciated the help we were given, and loved all the extra touches given to us. Our stay in Alice Springs was made better because we stayed here.

Nothing!

We felt so welcome at Kathy’s place and enjoyed talking to our hosts. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we very much appreciated the courtesy pick up!

The property is located a five-minute drive from the centre of Alice Springs and is in a residential area. If you don’t have a car, there’s a 20-minute walk to the nearest restaurants and it’s not recommended walking after dark. This is not necessarily a problem, but it is useful to be aware of for planning purposes.

The peace, the swimming pool, the nice breakfast, nice chats with Kathy and Karl, storage of our bag while we went on road-trip in the red center, the pickup from the airport.

Location is outside of town so you need a car or a taxi to get into town. Taxi is about 15 dollars one way. Alice springs is not really exciting, neither the safest place, so being out of town was not so much of a problem for us.

I stopped five nights of creature comfort brought to you by the lovely Kathy and Hubby Karl. Has anyone mentioned the freshly cooked breakfast!!! delicious. Having to leave

Kathy picked us up from the airport which was really nice. The house is spacious with everything you need and the bedroom is great. There's plenty of privacy if that is something you are concerned about. Breakfast was delicious, it really felt like a home away from home. Kathy and Karl were both very lovely and nice to chat with. They also let us leave our big luggages at their place whilst we head off to Ayers Rock which really made a huge difference.

Nothing at all

The location was a little out of town but still accessible with or without a car. The facilities were really great, it was like being at home. Kathy and Karl could not do enough for me to make my stay comfortable. Cooked Breakfast was sensational, just as ordered, could not complain. The tea and coffee making facilities were well stocked and had everything I wanted. Continental breakfast was in excess of what you would get in some hotels. Beautiful sparkling clean swimming pool. Beautiful welcoming garden to sit and reflect on the day. Collection from Airport on time and with a cheerful smile - very informative about the city.

There was nothing I did not like about this place. They put themselves out to accommodate their guests.

Kathy was a great host, was friendly but also was aware of your privacy. Her home was very comfortable, was clean and spacious. She was great with our children, and was happy for them to use the outdoor space and swimming pool (obviously under parent supervision). Breakfast was hearty, tea and coffee available throughout the day. We would definitely stay here again.

Some people may think that this is too far out of town, we were very happy to walk 15 mins from Kathy's place to Club Eastside, theres also an Indian and an Italian restaurant within walking distance. The fact that it is a little out of town should not put you off.

Kathy's Place is definitely a nice place to stay. We felt very well during our stay. Kathy offers a good breakfast and we could choose between to types of breakfast. Kathy is very welcoming and helps with everything you need. If we once come back it'll be our first choice, no doubts.

The animals in the backyard and the host serving us breakfast and sharing information and resources with us.

Share bathroom with other guests. Towel air dried which makes it not soft, but understand their culture to air dry.
