Hanoi Esplendor Hotel and Spa

Great location, excellent service, clean and cosy rooms. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi. Situated conveniently in the middle of Old Quarter, there are many good local food and cafes just around every corner. You could also get anything from basic necessities to souvenirs just a stone throw away.  The service provided is top-notch. Friendly and helpful staff that makes you feel at home. There's nothing more that I could ask for. I would to commend Kris for his great hospitality, as well as Lena and the rest of the staff for their outstanding service. During my 10 days here, I had the opportunity to try out different rooms and all the rooms are clean and well maintained.

it's located heart of the old quarter!! My dad has some knee issues so the distance was my big concern. but this hotel is located everything in the walk-in distance. Every famous restaurant was in 5-10 min and Hoàn Kiếm Lake was also super close. After a meal, we enjoyed a short walk to the hotel every day. Also, they have a travel agency so I can arrange our trip to Ha long bay. And they have a sim card and can do money exchange(currency was the same as an airport) so all I need to do was take a cap(also from the hotel. very nice driver) and go straight to the hotel and have some coffee. Best part? All staff was outstanding!!! Manager Lena and I had an email almost 3 weeks before our trip. She helped me to make our schedule very smooth.And the front guy also was very friendly and nice!! My parents said they want to come back to this hotel cause of them LOL After covid, this was my first trip. Planning trip for parents was little bit stress to me but they helped me A LOT!! This hotel suitable for everybody. family or couple or friends. Definitely 5 out of 5 star!!

All the staff is terrific but Lena Pham at the reception is outstanding. She was extremely helpful and proactive with many suggestions. She would even advise on the costs of fruits or things that we want to buy as certain vendors would tend to jack up the prices upon seeing that we are not locals. We used their airport/hotel pick-up services and found these had even better rates than the airport taxis. This seems unbelievable but it’s true. For example, we paid 380K VND for a personal and safe pickup at the arrival gate (for our son who came a day later) vs the airport taxi’s 421K VND (and it could be higher if the taxi driver had detoured on the journey as the meter rates are relatively exorbitant). We had also booked a day tour to Ha Long Bay with Lena and was extremely happy with the tour company. We had chosen the luxury option. It turned out that the boat had air conditioning and most others don’t; which was a real blessing. We had a most enjoyable trip. At no point in time did the hotel do any hard selling or sell us options that we don’t want or need. Instead, we felt at ease and were comfortable with them. We would go along with their recommendations. Hotel’s location is great and within short walking distance to the Cathedral, Train street, night market and the Hoan Thien lake. Famous and well known bun-cha, pho food stalls and cafes are just a stone throw away. We’d booked 2 rooms – a junior suite and a double with window. We had the double room changed to one with city view from 2nd night onwards. Highly recommended if space is a preference. Rooms with city view are bigger with extra shelving for more comfort.

We had the smaller room on our 1st day and there was some renovation work being done in next door unit, which is out of the control of the hotel. Thankfully they stopped in the evening and did not trouble us for the rest of our stay there. Attention to details by the housekeepers could have been better but they generally keep the place clean. Bring your own toiletries if you have certain references and expectations.

When We Came to Vietnam, everyone advised to take a 5 start hotel and not to go below the 5 stars, we had taken the risk by seeing all the positive comments and reviews on the hotel and it was worth it !, this hotel is defiantly value for money, its very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the staff is extremally helpful, special thanks to Kris and Ngo Jones who always responded to our WhatsApp messages even though it was beyond their duty time! Kris also arranged the taxies from and to the Airport at a reasonable price. All the staff of this Hotel are extremally hard working including the ladies at the SPA which made our stay even more relaxing. The Location of the Hotel is in the middle of the old Quarter so don't expect extreme silence although our family room was not having any view but luckily was very silent ! This room is very recommended, even if you are a couple only, its worth to add a little extra and have the additional space and silence.

Were about half way through a 3 week trip in vietnam at this point, and this is the best hotel weve stayed at so far especially for the price. The staff here go above and beyond for you, they are super friendly and always keen to help. The hotel itself is very nice looking and clean. The room was big, the bed was big and very comfortable we had an amazing few nights sleep. The aircon is powerful and has multiple settings. They also have a giant shower head which is always nice. Tv in the room with western movie channels. Everything you could ask for really.

The Esplendor Hotel was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is very good for exploring Hanoi. The room was clean and a good size. We stayed with two adults and two kids and weren't clear from the website how many beds there were going to be. The family room had one double and one single bed. The futon was actually a small sofa not suitable for sleeping on. However, they offered to make up another single bed in the room which worked really well. Really good stay.

The breakfast was okay but not great. There was some noise from the building work next door but it didn't bother us too much.

Recently renovated building, nice but not pretentious. The staff were super helpful. Kris was in touch before our stay to make sure we had all the info we needed and offered to give us advice, arrange trips and airport transfer. We stayed in the “honeymoon room” and it was great. The location is perfect, short walk to all kinds of sights, but I highly recommend renting a scooter(which you can do at the hotel) and cruising around the city that way.

The photos were slightly misleading and I felt like they made they room look more spacious than it was, but not a big deal..I was just a bit surprised. WiFi wasn’t great in our room on the 7th floor.

perfect hotel in the heart of the old quarter. this is an easy walk to many great cafes, restaurants, and shops! the staff is very friendly and helpful! I felt very safe here being a solo female traveler. the breakfast on the rooftop was my favorite part. it started at 7am so I had enough time to eat before my early tours. the hotel style is very nice. the bed and linens are extremely comfortable. i stayed in two different rooms. the room with the street view had a nice Juliet balcony and you could open the window. the room with no windows was extremely quite and dark at night so it was wonderful for sleeping. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Great location, easy walking to the Old & French Quarters. Clean and comfortable rooms, with excellent beds. Standard of cleanliness and maintenance is very high. Good breakfast buffet, with staff very proactive to offer a la carte Pho and/or Eggs. They were kind to our children, and always checked that everything was OK with our stay. Very good independent hotel which clearly takes pride in offering good service. Most impressive of all were the staff, and excellent leadership from Miss Lena. From the minute of our booking, she was proactive to help to offer to organise airport transfers and tours. We know that she also provided very good and fair price, compared to what people from other hotels on our tours paid. She was proactive to recommend and reserve restaurants to suit our itinerary. Together with her staff she made our trip much easier - thank you!

Staff (especially Kris) was helpful and very initiative. The hotel kept our belongings safe while we were in Sapa for a few days and we were kindly given an upgrade to a room with balcony when we returned from Sapa. They also prepared a takeaway breakfast set for my friend and I to eat during the journey to Sapa because we departed before breakfast service started. The restaurant for breakfast buffet is located at the top floor and has a nice view. Bed was comfortable and toilet was clean even though a little small.

There was a slight musty smell in the room we stayed at on the first night.
