Kemah Edgewater Hotel

This hotel has everything you need for a stay not far from Space Center Houston and the Kemah Boardwalk. It was much nicer than I would have predicted based on the price, making it an unbeatable value. My double queen room was spacious and clean with a minifridge and a microwave. Art was tasteful and modern. The bathroom was clean and featured a tub shower, an essential for bathing children but getting harder to find. The rooms have thick walls: next door there was a tantruming toddler heard very clearly in the hall but for which no sound at all could be heard in my room. The room had thoughtfully placed outlets and light switches, better for charging all my devices than some brand new ones. Housekeeping came daily. The TV had a large number of quality channels, some other hotels have slimmed their choices of late. There was ice and vending on each floor, also getting harder to find these days. Pool was clean, the perfect temp and as an added bonus has late afternoon shade when I was there. Landscaping of the property was a nice touch with palms and flowering brushes. Breakfast was cold options only but with Coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels, toast (with cream cheese butter and jam), muffins and most days had bananas. To boot they have an astronaut autograph on the wall in the breakfast area, makes it feel special. Also their suggestions of area attractions and restaurants was a nice touch. Wouldn't have found Frenchies without it. At the price I was a little concerned that it would be filled with long term residents but it seemed to be only travelers.

The card reader by the pool needs a new battery (but is 10 feet from the main entrance so not a big dea)l. Also it looks like a squirrel got to wires od the pool chairlift, I'm sure its disconnected and not a risk but I'd prefer they hide any exposed wires anywhere near the pool for piece of mind.

The gentleman at the front desk was very kind to our boys. He brought them some blankets for the pull out couch, and gave my oldest some paper to draw on and a book to read. When the TV was not working he came immediately and fixed it so we could eat dinner and enjoy a movie.

The only negative to our experience at the hotel was the room safety. Most hotels we have stayed in have an extra lock at the top of the door. This hotel only had a deadbolt lock that opened when you turned the handle from the inside of the room. My youngest is 1 year old and he managed to get the door open and took off down the hall. We placed the big chair that is furnished in the room in front of the door while sleeping in case one of the boys slept walked or woke up, it kept them from opening the door. This could be easily prevented with the locks at the top of the door.

This was our 1st family vacation, we drove from Oklahoma City. I brought my pittbull (he's big but he's not even 1 yet). The hotel not only was completely hospitable in helping us figure out where an what to do while visiting, but they just loved my pup! Everytime I took him out he was like a little hotel celebrity! The rooms were clean, an lots of space. The pool was awesome, the breakfast was very simple and sanitary. I would recommend this hotel for your stay. We were 10mins from Kemah Boardwalk, Walmart, an 15mins from the beach. I miss this place already.

Lots of construction going on around Kemah, but it's not the hotels fault. The only thing I didn't like is they need more vending machines for snacking and hygiene products.

The man at the desk, I wish I knew his name, was awesome!! So friendly & helpful! The beds were comfy & everything was clean. The location was great for us, close to family but it was also not far from NASA & Kemah Boardwalk. There was also continental breakfast. There were muffins, bagels, croissants & bread for toasting. There was apples, instant oatmeal packets & cereal, milk & oj.

If there had been a microwave to cook the oatmeal instead of a thermos of hot water that would be better 😊

Good location. It’s a good distance to everything and at the same time not in the middle of all the construction going on. Friendly staff. They even gave us a sheet with nearby attractions with directions. Rooms were clean.

One of the beds mattress had a dip in the middle which was a little uncomfortable but the other bed was good. Their breakfast isn’t like a full breakfast type. Just coffee, juice, milk, cereal , breads, and a couple fruits. Don’t look for waffles, pancakes or eggs.

We had checked in at another hotel earlier that day but it was horrible so we looked up another one to go to. Thank God, we came upon this place! The location was great and breakfast was delicious. We loved the young lady who checked us in. I wish we had gotten her name just to give her a shout out! She handled herself very well at a very busy hour of the day, especially with a very rude man who was checking in before us. Our room was clean and quiet. as well as the rest of the hotel. The bed was so soft and comfortable with more than enough pillows! We had already stayed at three other hotels on this trip. I just wish they were all like this one.

There isn't anything we didn't like about this place.

I loved almost everything. The staff was amazing.They took no time at all to handle a little situation. The room was nice and comfy. The location was perfect. I have already booked another stay here for a trip I have later this year.

The only thing I can say that I personally didn't like, was the fact that the breakfast did not include any hot food. Thankfully, that isn't a deal breaker for me. Maybe they'll have it in the future. Either way, I'll book here when I'm in the area.

Good A/C, comfy bed, microwave/fridge, plenty of hot water, breakfast/coffee and a pool. It appeared the bathroom had recently been updated, new toilet and granite counter. Great location since we wanted to do the Kemah Boardwalk and movies in Seabrook. Lots of restaurants. It's also only a few miles from Clear Lake Park which had dozens of things for kids to play on. The Houston Space center was less than 3 miles away. All the public areas were very clean and smelled good.

It had a pool, but the water was a bit cloudy. The pool surround area could use a good power wash.

Staff was really nice; they were very helpful. The beds were comfy, and everything was really organized. The room was nice for the price; it came with everything we needed and more. Breakfast was a small selection, but good. Fitness room was clean, and had a variety.

We found a few earwigs in our room, alive. In the morning, one was on one of my kids, in the bed. The 1st floor doors that lead to outside were very loud. Our room was next to one of the doors, and it was hard to sleep every time someone went in and out.

Location was perfect as we were visiting the Space center, room was very clean usually me and my husband get allergies from the carpet/Ac at hotels but it wasn’t the case here which was a pleasant surprise, also I was a little worries with all the bad reviews I found in google after I reserved, but the manager was very nice and the other people at the front desk as well

the only downside is that I stated we were a family of 5 in our reservation so I was expecting a sofa bed or something similar, it seems we will need to pay additional for a cot, honestly I didn’t ask as we were very tired
