Modern Hotel

The room was super clean and comfortable. Every.single.person whom I met working at the Modern Hotel was considerate, helpful, friendly. The location is good - just an easy 5 block walk to city centre. Firmness of bed was just-right, being neither a board nor a marshmallow. Bath towel was six feet long, thick and luxurious. Breakfast is delicious, fresh, healthy, and served with genuine care. Thanks Modern Hotel !

Excellent service and staff. The man at the front desk was very nice and professional; same for the ladies at breakfast. As for the room, the bed was really comfortable. Aside from the outside noise (that they can't control), we slept very well. Great location!

Expected a bit more from the breakfast. Maybe toast to go along with the frittata? The rate per night is high for what is offered but reasonable considering how expensive hotels are in the area during this time.

The hotel is well designed with nice terrace and bar/breakfast room. The room was well equipped, we especially liked the bathroom. Breakfast is ordered in portions at the bar in the morning. A concept that we didn't know, but that we liked. Food waste will certainly be reduced. It was fresh and tasted good.

The noise! We were very surprised when we were given earplugs when we checked in at reception. We were in Boise on a Saturday and apparently it's normal on the weekend for the youngsters to car race downtown. We felt cheated because we were not warned when booking. The hotel is aware of the problem if they hand out earplugs to the guests at reception! The noise continued until late at night, the windows are poor and don't help at all against it. The price for this overnight stay was far too high.

This feels a bit European and has a home away from home vibe. The breakfast is simple but yummy - your choice of a few different kinds of frittata which is heated for you at the bar. You can also have a granola/yogurt/fresh fruit parfait which is wholesome and not junky with syrup. Lastly, fresh squeezed OJ and a fresh made latte! Way better than the Hyatt or Holiday Inn! The restaurant and bar are small and cozy and with outstanding food and service. I ate dinner there twice and then took left overs to my room fridge and heated it up the next day for lunch! I LOVED THIS PLACE!

The room could have been a little plusher. I assume they keep it simple as this is a dog-friendly hotel. Still, I would have liked plusher carpet and fluffier bedding. However, I have stayed in a few places in Boise and this is still my favorite and will be my only here on out.

Loved the fun theme throughout the hotel. Staff were all great, especially the breakfast server. And, the breakfast was delicious! Location to great restaurants downtown was easy walk… Appreciated having coffee in the room in the morning… Loved the huge shower with HOT water and great water pressure!!

Our room was a little on the noisy side being in the middle of the hallway, and right by the ice machine… but they did provide ear plugs in our check-in goodie bag :-)

breakfast wasn’t really continental, there was no option for any toast either, however, the night before we had toasted bread. the meal we had was nice. they stopped serving food at 9pm we got to the hotel at 20.00pm and then went down to eat at 20.20pm. we place our orders however, when the food came out the waitress came over and said “I’m sorry to rush you but the kitchen is closing soon, will you be wanting puddings.” luckily we didn’t want any. It was to rushed for our liking.

Modern Hotel was close to downtown Boise but also felt like a little beach vacation! They have an adorable patio with white washed walls, shade, and misters to beat the hot sun. Their restaurant is excellent and we didn't really leave the hotel at all. They make sure you have everything you need and are super dog friendly.

We arrived on a Friday and it seems there's a crew of motorcycle cruisers that night that are quite loud. Modern Hotel does, however, offer complimentary ear plugs.

Room was great, shortly refurbished. Loved the XL italian style shower Location was great, chosen so that we could walk downtown without the hustle of having to drive and park a car The restaurant/bar was always busy at night, very nicely organised with the gas burner outside, seemed a great spot to have a drink (but we didn't try it)

Breakfast was somewhat disappointing, not prepared fresh and limited in quantity and choice (but there is an excellent coffee house just a block away from the hotel) Business center was cold, and the heating was too noisy to keep it running during our conf call For business people, the chair in the room could be better, if you have to spend some time in your room to work

From start to finish we had a very enjoyable experience at the Modern. Front desk service was helpful, courteous, and genuine. We arrived too late for a meal but we had a glass of wine outside by one of the little gas fires, which was a lovely way to wind-down after a long drive. We watched a delightful Modern curated film in our room and wish we had time to watch more! While the barista showed up late because of car trouble the night manager did his best to get us breakfast before we had to start our drive again. The granola we took to go and it was a luscious second breakfast on the road. We'd highly recommend this cleverly appointed spot.

California vibes with 2 entrances- 1 from outside and 1 from a private hallway. DREAM shower included a walk in shower with 1 detachable shower head and 1 rainfall head. Obviously went with the rainfall option. Odd first impression of the little privacy windows between the shower and bedroom but they grew on me. Handicap accessible shower with a small step up- would need a chair to sit on Dog friendly and let us add our dog to our already booked room!

noise insulation could be improved. They do provide ear plugs. Loud neighbors getting back at 3am and loud neighbors in the halls at 7am.
