Brewers Lodge

There is plenty of free parking and the location was perfect, away from the busy centre of town, but all the local facilities within easy walking distance. Great value, and I was expecting a single bed, but was allocated a room with a double bed. It looks like the corridors to the rooms were recently decorated in a fresh modern way. The room could do with a little freshening up, but it was clean and comfortable. I was worried about the noise from the pub disturbing me in my room, especially as I stayed on a Friday and Saturday nights, but it wasn't an issue. The higher numbered rooms seem to be the quieter ones. There was a bit of noise from the beer garden as I had my windows open, but it did not disturb me. There is no breakfast on offer, but there are plenty of places in town. For dinner I would recommend Amici Italian Restaurant, and for breakfast I would recommend Woodies, both in the centre of Blackwood. I would not hesitate to return if I am in the area again.

Check in was easy. Room was nice and clean and fresh. Bed comfortable. Shower a bit on the small side, but adequate.Good seating outside. The hotel is located at the very top of a long, steep hill. When approaching it through a very built up residential area, it does not look like there would be a hotel there, but just keep going up the hill and the area opens up. We walked down the steep hill to the shops on the high street. It's quite a hike back up the hill, but good excersise! It was a week-end, but there may be a bus to take you up the hill. Enquire at the pub..This hotel was excellent value for money. It's a pity that the bar/restaurant is not open in the morning for breakfast. Suggest taking a small box of cereal and some milk for the morning.

Staff are a little indifferent and kept changing. But they always answered questions. Some smiles would be nice.

The Staff is very nice, they are helping in each question you make and every time with a smile, the rooms are clean. You can eat for dinner and have a drink just downstairs. I would recommend this place as we felt at home and the Staff was always nice (we also had a problem with the wheel of our car and we had immediate assistance also in this situation...thank you again!!😍). We would surely come back next time when we will be back in the beautiful Galles 🥰🥰🥰

I would suggest to furnish the rooms with fans in case of hot weather like this year.😊 Everything else is perfect.

Loved our stay we were more than happy with the hotel and staff were run off their feet with seeing to wedding guests and still had time to give us a warm welcome our room was clean really comfy bed I thought the choice of having Netflix or any other app was on TV so it felt like you were back home there was everything you needed and more including extra quilts and tea coffee biscuits in the shower there was some goodies like mini shampoo body wash two toilet rolls not just one so for the money I thought it was fantastic and would love to stay at a later day....thank you everyone at the brewers lodge.x

In the bathroom there was these two pipes sticking out where the radiator used to be and that was a bit disappointing really but I don't think it was the hotels fault more to do with the faulty Plummer from faulty towers maybe think about employing one from somewhere else... Very shoddy workmanship....

The room itself was modern and cleanly presented. The rest of the facilities were wonderful, with the cosy bar area and absolutely amazing outside beer garden area. Really pleasant place to sit and have dinner in the sun. I travel regularly to that area of Wales and this was the first time staying at the Brewers Lodge. I will certainly be booking again.

To be honest everything was fine and I can't think of anything negative no matter how small to point out.

We were here for the Speedway Grand Prix in Cardiff. I asked if we could check in early because we needed to get to the event and Brewers Lodge were able to allow this. Lady who checked us in was helpful. The rooms looked to have been refurbished and were neat and tidy. The pub overlooks the valley, its a great view. The town has good facilities, lots of options for breakfast there as they don't do it at the Inn. We only used it as a base but would stay again.

The only small thing was that the kettle had a tiny lead and in my room the shelf it was on had no socket it could reach. I had to boil it across the room, on the rather small bedside table. A little bit awkward! Otherwise everything was good!

Great location for me as visiting family in the area. Really easy to get into Blackwood. Room was clean and very comfortable and bar and restaurant available- great to sit outside in the sun.

Hotel is currently undergoing refurbishments. The bathroom in the room I stayed in was very dated but clean and tidy. Last year, I stayed in a room that had already been refurbished which was fantastic. Once it is complete, it will be a perfect stay for me.

I loved everything about the property. It’s a lovely hotel downstairs is a bar and restaurant. The staff are so accommodating kind and friendly. Also there is a little cat there called Polly who lives there and she is beautiful and just get on with her day. Also the owner allowed me to work downstairs while they were cleaning as I had left the room and lovely. Gemma gave me a small coffee on the house. What a beautiful humble people. I love Wales.

I like the modern rooms and the cleanliness. the staff were also really lovely despite how busy it was they still made time to answer question I had and help in any way they could

I didn’t like that there was no warning on the road about the steepness of the ramp to get it the car park. this ramp/road area was badly lit and due to h this I nearly burnt out my clutch on my car. more warning and more lighting please. and the car park was so full from pub goers.

The room ,shower etc were very good ,very clean but its a shame you dont do breakfast . The meal I had when I arrived was very good. There was a very nice gentleman who carried my case to and from my car to my room, thankyou to him.

No breakfast .The wire on the hairdryer was not long enough to stand in front of the mirror whilst drying and combing your hair . Could use a rail or something to put towels on whilst in the shower. Could use a better map? or instructions to reach Brewers Lodge.Not everyone has a sat .nav.
