The White House

Very nice accomodation - large beautiful room with comfy beds and a sofa. The self check in process was very easy and convenient, so we had no problems despite our delayed flight and late arrival. Contact with the owner is great - we had many last minute questions and requests (including a change in the time of arrival due to the delay) . Very convenient location close to Stansted airport. The staff was very nice, helpful and understanding - they modified my breakfast upon request to meet my dietery requirements. Breakfast itself was great - fresh and ready waiting for us in a little fridge in our room. The Nespresso coffee maker is a nice touch, and there is also a kettle and instant coffee / tea.

Everything was perfect!

Lovely room (Aqua) in a characterful little house, with a comfortable bed and lush "rain effect" shower with consistent temperature (normal showerhead also present but not tried). Quiet location but walking distance to local amenities (we didn't need anything so can't comment on these). Perfect for a romantic night/weekend away. Our own plans were partly cancelled very last-minute, meaning we only needed one night instead of two, and this was accommodated and refunded easily (thank you!). The house has gorgeous wooden beams and doors, some lower parts to the ceiling, and slightly sloping floors - typical of really old buildings and SO cozy. The room was spotless, with full continental breakfast put in the mini-fridge for us to enjoy at our leisure in the morning. Hassle-free checking in and out and responsive owners made this pretty perfect all round!

It was convenient breakfast nice. Location to airport not far family room good size.

Apple trees, apples landed on the car a few times, ask for a space away from apple trees. Old sash windows so could be chilly in winter and a little noisy in summer. Also due to the no noise protection from the old sash windows everyone coming back through the night you could hear their conversation, sorting of luggage , paying of taxi and starting up of their car which happens 3 times in the night. So not much sleep.

Lovely chap came to greet us when we arrived. The home owners stay out of your way but are on hand. Lovely large twin room. Warm and comfortable. Huge array of breakfast items in a fridge in your room incl pastries, toast, jams, fruit, cereals, drinks. Easy proximity to the airport. We took the bus. It took 6 minutes and there are plenty of buses - one stop is 2 mins walk across the road, the other is about a 7 min walk by the pub. Parked my car there while we were away. Much better value than parking at the airport. Highly recommended.

Comfortable room very well located for the airport and with good facilities (i.e. nespresso machine, fridge, kettle and most importantly biscuits!) We got the bus there and back from the airport station without any trouble (£1.80 fare each way). Breakfast provided in the fridge was good too, easy to take with us for early departure to the airport.

slightly odd set up with the shower in the room, worked for us as we are a couple but maybe not for everyone

It was full of character, like a cottage. It didn't feel like a hotel. It was a short drive to the airport so much better than staying at one of the big hotels. There was a lovely breakfast all there in the fridge in the room, or outside the room (we stayed in a different room on the way there to on the way back.) There was a key safe so we could get in when we arrived very late after our flight was delayed an hour. Lots of nice things like dressing gowns and towels, soaps, shampoos, tea and coffee etc.

Two of the single beds in the first room could have been a bit bigger but to be honest I slept really well straight away so I can't complain. They were just slightly smaller than full size singles, but I slept fine as an adult. There could have been a shower curtain you could pull round the lovely old fashioned bath as it was easy to get water everywhere. I should have sat down. You can get circular ones that work quite well. It was a really lovely pretty big bathroom though, and immaculately clean.

Short taxi ride to airport. Very nice continental breakfast in room fridge ready for early start. Useful separate shower to toilet so eased early morning preparations for family. Handy guide to local places.

Our particular car park space was on rough ground with rubble and broken wood etc. Be ware that front door opens directly to steepish stairs leading to rooms. Our room (grey) was shabby chic although well equipped. No staff actually on site for check in _ clear instructions for self access. Helpful lady sent to assist after phone call as had problem with door fob.

Ideal location for flying to and from Stanstead and ample holiday parking at a good price. Took us 25 mins to walk back after checking bags in early. Buses run regularly from Takeley from about 5 am, only £2, ideal for early flights. The owners of the White House were really friendly, looking up bus times etc for us. Lovely room and everything we needed was provided. Pub and fish and chip shop only a few hundred yards away.

Everything was great, next time I fly from Stansted I will be staying here again!

It was a lovely place a bit likes an old cottage. It was very pretty and comfortable and there was a nice breakfast for the morning, although it wouild have been good if there were some more protein options as I am on a low carb diet and the only protein was a fruit yoghurtt and milk. But it was a lovely breakfast with croissants, butter, jam, toast, cereal and milk and orange juice, tea and coffee. A de-caff coffee would have been nice as I can't have coffee.

See above, somethig protein in the breakfast, I'm not sure what, maybe a hard boiled egg?

A pretty B&B in a very convenient location for the airport or nearby Bishops Stortford. A very comfortable good sized room as requested for our family, within walking distance of a couple of lovely restaurants to eat. Our hosts were friendly and extremely kind and helpful - and the breakfast array in the fridge was exceptional - we couldn't do it justice! A lot of effort goes into making you welcome and nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely evening and comfortable nights sleep. We benefitted from both a shower room and a separate spacious toilet and washroom.
