Lovely big room- Riches. Perfect for family weekend break with a dog. Staff all lovely and friendly during morning. Great food and service. Peaceful location lovely beach, great place for a little get away. Thornham is a lovely little village

Just one young member of staff a balshy stand off ish stroppy teenager who could do with finding a job somewhere else as I didn’t appreciate having to deal with her on my time off! She doesn’t suit the hospitality world as asking her to do anything was met with general Kevin and Perry vibes. Everyone else was great though. Even grumpy Paul behind the bar was tolerable

Rooms, our first room was extremely hot, but there was a portable air conditioner. However the plumbing was very noisy. when the people in the next room visited their bathroom it sounded like the water was pouring through our room. We had to request to be moved to another room. The staff were very thoughtful and moved us to a quieter room which was very satisfactory. The food was very good but the service in the restaurant in the evening was a little slow.

Location was great easy walk to the old harbour and coastal path.

'Small Room' booked (last room available at the time of late booking) was snug but perfectly arranged and decorated. Comfortable large bed. Stunning scenery close to the front. Ancient building with pleasant and comfortable ambience. Food and service excellent.

Slightly too narrow a passage between the end of the bed and the wall to be able to access the bathroom, due to a wall mounted television screen. View from a good sized window was disappointing as it overlooked the neighbouring caravan park.

it’s in a beautiful, quiet location with lovely views out to sea, across the fields. Inside, the hotel is comfortable and cosy - and we were lucky enough to have a huge claw-footed bath and fabulous monsoon shower in our bathroom, too. All the staff were friendly and we felt very well looked after.

The only thing I would say is that we could hear quite a lot of banging during the night / early hours. I think some cleaning and rearranging of furniture was going on and, with our room being situated over the bar and reception area, the sounds did disturb us.

Fantastic breakfast, as much as you would like and well cooked. The best staff service we have ever experienced anywhere and we have stayed in some very high end hotels , who could take some coaching from the Lifeboat!

Our room although beautiful and clean, it was very hot even with an air conditioning unit , this was great during the day but too noisy at night to leave on . Proper internal air conditioning would make it perfect.

Execellent location for an overnight or couple of nights stay with great access to coastal walks. Good mixture of old and new within then property giving character but also the facilities and access needed. Staff worked very hard and were very welcoming. Food was very good.

One or two more people needed to cover evening service. The restaurant was very busy in all 3 areas and as a result the one staff member on our side, although brilliant, had no chance to really cover everyones expectations. Not an issue for us but did see others frustrated at turnaround of tables for example.

Lovely room and very efficient, friendly and helpful staff. The barman was impressive how he mixed drinks so quickly when the bar was very busy. Food was well cooked. Breakfast was outstanding. Guests' dogs provided a lovely icebreaker for starting conversations with other guests which added to the interest and enjoyment of my stay.

Would have been nice to have a seasonal special on the menu.

The pub, restaurant and rooms were tastefully decorated and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They made our party of 3 adults 2 children and a dog very welcome. It’s a quiet village with stunning marsh and coastal walk right on the doorstep. The food was excellent and locally sourced. Some more local fish options would have made it even better.

The rooms were very hot and the water was also really hot. We had air con units but the practicality of setting it up with a cot bed was a squeeze. Fresh milk would have been a nicer option in the room along with ground coffee to go with the coffee pot provided?!

Wonderful breakfast and table service. Staff very friendly. Bedroom clean and bathroom gleaming, husband loved the shower, water lovely and hot. I loved looking through the bedroom window, could see the wind turbines in the sea, shinning in the sun. Also great location, quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed a stroll down the lane before breakfast, lovely open views and fresh air. Would love to visit again soon.

Possibly lack of bar snack meals for arriving guests. Or afternoon cream teas would be amazing.

Atmospheric inn in a fantastic location next to the marshes. Lots of great walking and wildlife watching available. Lovely view over the marshes to the sea from our cosy room. Food was of a good standard and service from the main waiter/concierge/barman was exceptional. Breakfasts were best we have had for some time.

Having booked a sea view room, on arrival we were taken to a room at the back of the inn but this was rectified quickly. Slight 'doggy' smell on carpet to one side of the bed. Ordered salmon in the restaurant but they had run out - this was replaced with sea bass but we were not informed. For a CAMRA listed pub, I was expecting a slightly better offering of beer.
