El Barrio Lanna- SHA Extra Plus

Firstly the location was great, a short walk to bars, shops, massage spas, and restaurants. Everywhere is easy to get to by foot, taxi/grab, or Songthaew. The hotel is extremely well kept, clean, and tidy with a nice pool. The room was spacious, with a small balcony and plenty of space for luggage. They also probably had the most comfortable beds we had in our whole 8 weeks around Thailand. Slept great, even when our room was next to the road outside (a very quiet road). Extremely clean and the cleaning staff also made our room when requested. Breakfast was also great. In a small eating room near the pool, there were plenty of coffee and tea offers, fresh fruits, waffles, Thai dishes, bread, toast, croissants, waffles, yogurt, cereals, and eggs made to order. Also, a nice touch was the free water and delicious biscuits.

The pool could have been cleaner. There were a lot of floating particles in the pool. Otherwise, there is nothing negative I can say. It's good value for money.

The property is very chill, tucked away inside a small street but very accessible to grab drivers still. It is near the temples which is nice and there are nearby souvenir shops, restaurants, a market and massage parlors all very near the hotel. The staff were very nice as well, always very pleasant with our requests. Out of all the hotels from my whole 2 weeks stay in thailand including the ones in bangkok and phuket that i stayed with, this has the best food. Limited options for breakfast but everything was completely delicious and we tried their room service foods as well coming from the airport because we were so hungry and it was very delicious too. The rooms were very clean as well.

The building and the rooms appear bigger in pictures but it is very small so a big luggage is nit recommended when you are planning to stay here.

Great options for breakfast. A good selection of Asian and western dishes. Staff were always friendly and welcoming :) from the security waving and saying good morning/goodnight every time we walked in and out, to the housekeeping staff who were so respectful and accommodating. Staff at reception were always so helpful and warm. The restaurant staff surprised me with a cake and card on my birthday (without anyone in my group telling them about it)! It was such a special and thoughtful gesture - really appreciated and made my stay in Chiang Mai that much more memorable. They knew who we were by name and always made an effort to greet us and ask us about our day - and this makes all the difference to a guest when you’re visiting another country. Thank you everyone! Nothing at all!

Set in the back streets of the Old Town. From the street you are not prepared for what is going to reveal itself as you enter the property. The check in was swift and the room was lovely. We had the benefit of a full size bath as well as a rain shower and a separate area for repacking our cases. The bed was very comfortable and it was a shame we had such an early alarm call the following morning. We know the area relatively well and walked to a nearby area where street food was available. It would be a perfect place to explore Chiang Mai Old Town for a longer period of time

The only thing I didn't;'t like was turning up to check in 5 hours later than I wanted and my wife being so slow that we missed breakfast before departing. There was nothing to dislike about the hotel

Beautiful suite, amazing airy bathroom with the skylight, very high quality and tasteful decor. Good selection for breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Special thank you to the security guard for taking care of our motorbikes and helping to fix our broken bungees! Lovely quiet location, lots of interesting stuff to see within a short walk.

Hard to fault, mini bar could be better stocked, suggested bubble bath liquid or similar could be provided for the beautiful tub.

The El Barrio Hotel in Chiang Mai offers a charming setting and is beautifully decorated in traditional Lana style with wooden finishing, creating an intimate atmosphere. The location allows for walkable access to attractions in the old town

the fairly basic amenities and the impact of soundproofing due to wooden windows, resulting in early morning disturbances from outside noise and requiring the use of earplugs. It is at least a 15-minute walk away from any nightlife, so if proximity to amenities is a priority, it is advisable to stay closer to the main walking street.

The hotel and tooms were beautiful! The staff was kind and very attentive to anything we needed. We will definitely stay again next time we are in Chiang Mai!!

We booked a "family room" with 2 bedrooms since we have two kids (aged 4 and 7). Getting into the room, we were surprised to see that they were only hoining rooms by the outdoor patio, not inside the rooms. Prior to the trip, I was in communication with the hotel about changing dates. They did mention that they were connected in this manner, but I did truly understand until arriving in the room. (In the States, the rooms are always joined within) We ended up making it work with 1 parent 1 kid in each room (it would be perfect for older kids!), and it did not take away from our wonderfil stay with El Barrio

.A great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly & accommodating. Breakfast each morning was good.The pool was very clean & perfect temperature. My ground floor room was pretty & very comfortable with a little private courtyard. Short walk to cafes restaurants hotels etc.& the Sunday market is only a 5 minute walk away. Onlu thing stopping El Barrio Hotel from perfection was Wi-Fi being a bit sluggish It worked ok but I had to keep signing in every few hours or so. Overall I would highly recommend El Barrio & will stay again any time I'm in Chiang Mai.

Nothing to complain about. Only wifi was a bit annoying....having to keep signing in.

pretty much everything . I liked that they gave 4 instead of the usual 2 bottles of water.

the breakfast was rather limited (soup,eggs,salad,bread, cornflakes, watermelon) not sure it’s because of Covid and too few guests..

A really cozy hotel tucked in the city, near Wat Chedi Luang. The area is next to a school so it can get busy at times. There is a good breakfast place nearby. As for the hotel room, it was so clean, fresh and comfortable. The TV had all the features (Netflix, Youtube, etc) and the toilet was clean. There was also a personalized message for guests. Breakfast options were okay. They had some Thai food and a bit of western breakfast items (just the basic ones) such as bread/jam. There was a fruit and salad area. Overall, there weren't many options but whatever they had was really good. They also made omelete for you for free.
