Eastin Tan Hotel Chiang Mai

Good breakfast, good facilities (pool, gym), very friendly staff (willing to print some docs for me). The hotel is next to the night market and a buzzing 'evening' scene with bars and restaurants.

1. The hotel is close to the Chiang Mai airport and under the take-off and landing path of airplanes, so once in a while the roaring sound of jets can get a bit intense, especially at night (there are a couple of flights after 11pm). 2. The entry hallway of my room was a bit smelly (probably the carpet glue which got wet or something like that) and, although the airco works well, it seems the air is re-circulated so my room had a bit of a weird smell. I had to ventilate frequently by opening the balcony door. However, this was probably specific to my room.

Staff was friendly and facilities were clean

At 6am, bald old man pressed on our doorbell. I approached the door and asked him what he wants but he proceeded to step aside (seeing from door viewer) and did not reply. Suspected that it might be possible drunk guy or someone attempt to break in. Called counter hotline and staff immediately act on it. Subsequently, after a while, staff called back and informed me that he was a drunk guy who stayed on the same level as me. He also assured me that he has spoke with the drunk guy. Since then, our morning started early for that day.

The hotel is centrally located, a short ride away from the old town, and just across the road from Maya shopping mall. The room is spacious, with big bathroom and a nice balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety and options. The restaurant decor was quite creative and inspiring.

The pool and the gym are quite small. The equipment in the gym is sufficient for a full body workout, but the pool wasn't really appealing. The balcony is nice and big enough to have a small table with 2 chairs for the guests to chill at their own privacy. The shower door wasn't closing properly. The shower needs to be changed with a new one which is easier to use and get the water at the desired temperature.

Breakfast is delicious but not many choices for cook section. They have live omelette and noodle station. Overall I would say breakfast is good. Two bed room suite was very spacious and a big balcony with nice view. Very good to see sunrise. Bathroom were nice. Two bathroom attached with bedrooms and extra toilet behind the small kitchen. A washer dryer was available in the room. Master bath had a jacuzzi.

I'm early riser and took shower early about 6:30. Hot water was not available at that time in my bathroom. Last morning I took shower around 7 am plus and hot water was available then.

Location was superb. One side was Maya shopping centre, the other was One Nimman. There were a lot of cafes and eateries within the area. Area wasn’t as conjested as Old City which was a plus. View was good (facing Doi Suthep). Liked the hotel app that can arrange for room makeup time & request for top-up of amenities. Breakfast buffet was filling and good variety - best was the fresh juices served.

Can hear the sound of airplanes. During our stay there was some painting work but it didn’t bother us. Pillows weren’t as firm.

Location is super, with shopping mall near by. Easy access to travel around Chiang Mai city. The staffs are mostly very friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping did a great job in cleaning.

The wall is too "thin", on the 3rd night of my stay a group of local check-in late pass mid-night and i woke up with all the chatting and door banging (opening and closing) along the corridor and for the next 2 days, this properly 4-5 group down the corridor are pretty noisy with all room doors opened and walking chatting around. Properly the other room guests did not feedback (coz i did not as well haha) so they did what they did. Other than the group issues, had a great stay.

The facilities, location, view, amenities in room, comfort of bed and room, the room service, staff and breakfast were amazing!!! I had the Mountain View with kitchenette and it was incredible. the breakfast was packed but for good reason and had a lovely restaurant & out door seating which was very nice. I love how they have a pool with shade! that was definitely a huge factor why I booked. the cafe downstairs is also nice

my room had a dank smell & faint sewer smell & the Wifi wasn’t working. it’s so unfortunate because everything else was amazing. I’m hoping it was I just my room and fixable because it would be an excellent stay aside from those very essential needs. for me, after the construction & if they fix the smell and Wifi issues, I would recommend and add a star. but if not, I just would not recommend… it makes the whole experience unpleasant & frustrating esp if you have work (Wifi) or a sensitive nose

Almost everything was to my liking. Staff was great, they spoke English n was attentive. Breakfast was beyond what I expected, service crew was fast n quick to respond. Room was clean. Rented a car from airport, self drive to hotel n had no issues with parking at all. Location is very good as it is at a junction n there is no issues returning after late. There are 2 malls just across n lots of choices of eateries. I strongly recommend this Hotel.

There is nothing I didn't like.

Staff went out of their way to provide my dietary needs at breakfast. Loved the view of Doi Suthep and the location near all of Nimmanheamind's hotspots. Great breakfast, great room, lovely staff, will stay here again.

Would love the fitness centre to be a little bigger and equipment more modern.

Quick service recovery. Shower water pressure and temperature are consistent. Big gym room. Comfortable bed. Japanese style cubicle (auto bidet). Ample space to open the luggage. Great breakfast options, love the egg station, the choices of desserts (thick pancakes are yum!) and fruit smoothies. Hotel next to mall.

Lack of toiletries (no toothbrush and conditioner). Shakey shower door. Clothes hook knob is missing. Laundry powder smell is very strong from towel. For breakfast, realize no local chicken as a main. Everyday I see fried fish.
