Beautiful building, lovely large room with comfortable bed, fridge with daily bottled water and tea making facilities. Nice garden/bar area. Roof terrace restaurant Taarab - had one meal there which was very nice.

The breakfast buffet selection was rather limited, msinly local or continental style food but had an egg station. The pool was inside a separate building next door and although very nice there were no sunbathing facilities. You could sit in the garden but again this was not set up for sunbathing. It did have pizza oven and they looked very tasty.

All of the staff were friendly and provided efficient service. We arrived early the reception staff stored our luggage securely and our room was available an hour before the actual check-in time. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious and since we arrived on Christmas eve, we got a visit from "Santa" and extra sweet treats. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have a desk and chair incase you need to work or complete forms before moving to your next destination. The Tarab restaurant has reasonably priced, superb quality food. The service is quick and the staff make it a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel, as the location is central to majority of the attractions one would see on the walking tour of Stone Town. The Hotel can also assist with arranging a taxi to the airport or to other attractions at a reasonable fee.

Lack of sound proofing in the room. One could hear the conversation of the next hotel room very easily.

The hotel has all the basics you would expect with an on-site restaurant and access to the pool etc next door. It's not your typical Hilton the furniture etc is Arabic style. The hallways were too dark for my liking.The location is perfect and you can walk around Stone Town all by yourself. There are tourists, shops, and restaurants everywhere. You can also get historical sites by walking. However a few are being renovated.

I was in room 302, I had asked for a room away from the lift but this was still close. There is a sound from outside - a long beep that comes and goes regularly which bothered me when I wasn't wearing earplugs.

Great hotel in the heart of stone town so you can move around easily. it’s not the typical Double tree, more boutiquey with traditional zanzibari/arab interior. The staff are absolutely fantastic, everyone is very helpful, friendly, smiling always and going-out of their way to help you. Few names I still remember, Cavin from the front desk, Hadeeja and Chef Alex and all the rest were so warm!

Nothing, had an issue with the AC first night but they fixed it immediately.

A 4 star hotel surrounded by Stone Town's main 5 star hotels. A pretty great location. Air conditioned lobby which is greeaaat if you visit when it's hot. Rooms felt spacious enough. The staff were really nice and conversational.

There were cockroaches in the rooms. The towels could be of better quality. They look old

I stayed for one night. It was in a great location and I love the size of the rooms. The bed was very comfy although the shower felt a little small. The staff was also friendly and I loved how robust the breakfast options were. The view from the top of the hotel is gorgeous to look out over the water.

There was a gross bottle of dirty water left in my mini fridge so that made me wonder how clean the room was.

great location very close to a great restaurant Cape Town Fish market. excellent room service. staff are very polite and friendly. food is delicious; variety to choose from and great chefs. My birthday was on the 01/01/ and so the hotel staff surprised me with a heart-touched carefully handmade “birthday cake” with my name flashing on the side of the plate the cake was carefully placed in. This made my entire holiday special and memorable. DoubleTree is my hotel for life!!! I am generously recommending DoubleTree to all holiday goers looking at visiting Zanzibar. I am not doing this because of the birthday cake but for the exceptional service and care. The service I received is absolutely worth the amount I paid.

Hotel is situated at the heart of Stone Town, close to all shops and beach, property is with AC throughout and room service team are great with their service daily. You can find friendly staff from the entrance to reception, lobby, restaurant and everywhere.

The room said king but there was not much views out the windows other than to other building tops and walls, therefore we thought it was a little over priced.

- Staff were super friendly and always greeting and smiley. - Welcome cookies were provided which were warm and fresh. - Water bottle was provided free of charge when we checked out which was a very kind gesture. - Very central and convenient location. - They upgraded the room as we were on our honeymoon and provided a surprise dessert in our room.

- Bed was extremely soft and would have preferred a bit more firm however this is just personal preference.

This may look a copy-paste but during our recent trip in Zanzibar, me & my friend actually stayed in DoubleTree by Hilton Stonetown branch TWICE! That's how we really liked the hotel. The first one in 1-night stay (15 Oct 2021) and the second one is for 3-night stay (21-24 oct 2021). So here's my review for our 3-night stay which is exactly the same as my review for our 1-night stay: Right before we enter the hotel premises, the staff checked our temperature (which I really appreciate as we are in the pandemic time). Upon entry, we got warm cookies and its for free!!! All the staff in the reception area greeted us with a warm welcome and big smile. The staff also allowed us to have early check-in! The hotel staff provided us with packed breakfast on the days that our tour itinerary starts early. Aside from the staff, the breakfast is good and have varieties of food to choose from. The rooms are clean and the staff also ensure that our rooms are mosquito free. Overall, the hotel & all the staff exceeded my expectation and I would love to stay again in DoubleTree by Hilton Stonetown branch next time I visit Zanzibar and would highly recommend this to my friends!
