Hotel Lavaux

The terrace was a real bonus for me...loved keeping the door open (sometimes) for fresh air. The lake and mountain views were deeply relaxing as were the walks along the lake. The staff was very helpful answering my questions...very personable too! The breakfast was good and convenient and the bed was very comfortable. Access to lakeside towns (Montroux was exceptionally nice) was easy with the complimentary train pass.

It would have been nice to be warned about the traffic/train noise directly in front of the hotel. With door to terrace closed, it was NOT a problem, but I liked the fresh air. Also, communication about which train stop to use should be more clear. On a train route map Epesses doesn't look like a stop, so I exited the train at Cully, which (I was told) was the nearest town to the hotel and walked almost a mile (with luggage) (miscommunication could have been on my part too). Also, warning about the stairs involved in using the train stop in Epesses. I recently had knee surgery and the stairs were very troublesome, which they might also be for someone with heavy luggage or difficulty climbing.

We chose this specific hotel as an easy location from which to get to the Epesses wine festival, on foot. The added bonus was that they have two bed apartments and ours had a beautiful view over the lake from the balcony. I’ve seen other reviews noting that the hotel is next to the road and train line. It is. But if it wasn’t I think the hotel would probably be ten times more expensive for the location amongst the vineyards and next to the lake. We couldn’t hear any noise from inside, just when on the balcony, and it wasn’t even bad noise. We were still able to chill out and chat and read. There is a lovely walk along the lake front to Cully.

Breakfast was ordinary. Location is excellent with superb lakeside view if you decide to take it. Excellent beds as well. Friendly personnel.

Parking was said to be available in abundance, it isn't. Painters wanted me to move my car, I refused. they started painting anyway.... Not how it should be handled the hotel manager said he would speak to the painters but they went ahead anyway. Doesn't make any difference though regarding overall hotel quality.

The view from our suite was fantastic. Really clean room and comfortable bed. The staff were polite and ready to help.

My companion thought it's missing a TV in the room.

Perfect as always! This is not our first stay in the hotel as it has perfect location for visiting Cully Jazz Fest. or the wineries around the UNESCO heritage vineyards of Lavaux or just enjoying a tour around the Lake of Geneva. We like the feature ergonomic minimal style of the rooms with stunning views as to the lake side also to the back vineyards hill. Stuff is always kind and helpful and did not disappoint us again. Maintaining standard and quality of service trough the years is a rare currency nowadays. Looking forward to our next stay!

Great spot and good value for money, being outside the "Lausanne Surcharge Area" ;-) when you have private transportation!. Clean, well equipped, spacious and modern-looing rooms, and very friendly front-desk staff. At a price level below the budget offer in Lausanne from the wading-bird chain of hotels (not to name them), and getting a much better room for it!

All in keeping with expectation, meaning, breakfast is nothing to rave about, but there are definitely fully automatic machines on the market that turn out a better cup of coffee / cappucino in the morning..

I took a group of friends for their first time visit to Switzerland. I chose the Hotel Lavaux because the pictures showed simple, beautiful balconied rooms with floor to ceiling windows that overlooked Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and the French Alps beyond. All that and the hotel was plopped in the middle of the vineyards of the Lavaux region. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and gracious upon our arrival (and I'm jumping to the end--one of us accidentally left an item behind and I was emailed through my private email, through Booking.com, and texted in their efforts to be sure that we were aware of it and to make arrangements for the return if necessary. We really appreciated their concern.) The beds were SO comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The hotel is newer and has air-conditioning. It does sit on a well traveled road and overlooks the train tracks, but it had super nice windows that made the room virtually soundproof. I didn't even know we were experiencing a thunderstorm one evening until I noticed the lightning. If you travel by train, you want to use the Epesses Gare train stop. Do note that the only way to get to the hotel from there is up a few flights of stone steps through a vineyard. Local trains ran on the half hour, I believe, and we used them to visit the charming nearby town of Cully (which was also a lovely 20 minute walk away), Vevey, the Castle of Chillon, and Chexbres. If you want a quiet, comfortable place to use as a base for this lovely area of Switzerland the Hotel Lavaux is highly recommended. Property photos were an accurate representation.

Nothing could be better--it was a wonderful stay.

The very comfortable room with a really nice view on the lake. Also the hygiene standards are very good and the airconditioning is a nice plus. The bathroom was really great with an epic shower and good glass door to keep the rest of the bathroom dry. Also nice that the bathroom has good accessoires (hair dryer, shower cap, shower gel…)

Consider removing the trees from the terrace outside since birds reside in them and try to snatch away your breakfast in the morning. Whilst in the evening the trees attract insects that fall down on your food and head. It is a shame that the nice view on the lake at the restaurant is covered with a wooden fence. Understandable, due to the traffic on the large street but ideally the restaurant would be on the third floor. That would enable a nice view on the lake whilst solving the above mentioned tree problem, plus it will make up for the less used panoramic terrace. The panoramic terrace is impractical because there is no bar/restaurant there.

Love the location and the views of Lake Geneva, and the vineyards. Hotel staff was nice, professional and provide good service.

Parking was a challenge. there was no closet or dresser to put your clothes in.  there were two pegs with hangers on them to put your clothes and a small shelf to put your shoes and your luggage on, which was interesting. 

The rooms were very modern and very clean. Lots of space to move freely and the headboard was a very convenient storage space with easy access to the power outlet. The mountain and Lake view from the rooms as well as the balcony made the experience much more delightful. My family enjoyed their stay very much and highly recommend this hotel.
